I checked out some RTW linen shorts I have, they don’t have interfacing and the opening does stretch out. Will definitely interface mine. 👍

Thanks for this video. I've been told by "experts" that you shouldn't switch out one pocket style for the other because it will mess with the darts built into the front pattern piece. The slant pocket is at that angle because it's incorporating a dart. But now I see this isn't always true. I can alter and use the pockets I want- not what comes with the pattern. I really dislike slant pockets. Thanks so much.

Thank you for this. I’m getting ready to try my hands at a slant pocket first time and I’m a little apprehensive so this will really help.

Before I started watching your channel I never used to automatically interface the pockets; I only did it when it was included in the instructions. Lately however, I’ve noticed it’s become a practice for me. It might be my imagination but it seems like my understitching and topstitching come out better when I interface. I’m wondering if the interfacing isn’t making the whole area more stable which is making the stitching easier to do well. Even though interfacing is my least favorite aspect of sewing, I find it really is worth the extra few minutes of time to get such lovely results. Thank you for encouraging me to develop good practices in my sewing. It’s not so much that I’ve learned anything different from you than from others, but I you always take the time to explain why to do them and that motivates me to do things I otherwise didn’t enjoy like interfacing and hand basting. After I start doing those things more and see the benefits, I adopt them into practice and no longer dread them because I now have the experience to know that while they aren’t always “necessary,” they are so much better. I’m praying that the Lord blesses you for all the good you are doing, not just for me, but for the whole sewing community. I’m a much better seamstress because of you.

Well said, and I cheat and use the interfacing strips on a roll, like Sew ksy

@@kathleenbarron7654 I’ve heard so many people rave about Sewkeyse, but I’ve never used it. I was perusing Wawak, as there are a couple of things I need, and I was wondering if something like this would work in a similar way: www.wawak.com/Garment-Construction/Interfacing/fusible-tricot-roll-interfacing/?sku=FCW11WH . I know the Sewkeyse comes in 1/2" and 1”. Which size do you prefer using? I don't see why I couldn't cut this in half if need be.

I can’t wait for the pattern release to see what it is! I’m cutting out a pair of Allegra’s and a pair of Pleats to meet you tonight, so perfect timing. I’ll be rewatching this video for reinforcement. I went through your pants videos last night and today, measuring myself and made a chart to help me know what changes to the patterns I need to make. I’m tall, almost 6’ and very long waisted. The difference between my waist and belly button is 4 inches! I’ve always know I’m long waisted but seeing my measurements written down was eye opening. No wonder nothing fits me. I feel like with your videos I’m empowered! I’ve sown all my life, my aunt was a seamstress and showed me how to adjust for my height, but it’s been so long. The last garment sewing I’ve done was when I was pregnant with my first, and he’s 34. Thanks!

PERFECT timing! I’m still trying to perfect my Allegro fitting, three muslins in, but when they’re right, I’m more confident to finish well. On a side note, I have a weird body. I have taken away almost 2 inches of rise in the front, and adding the same amount to the back, going back and forth on whether I want to do a Full Seat Adjustment (I’ve done one muslin with, and another with just the back rise adjustment.) now I’m working on correcting the curve, all thanks to your EXCELLENT pant fitting series.

Your adjustments make sense and it’s also related to how you like wearing your pants. Once you get it, make it 10 times 😀
