to be fair, Skibidi Toilet is short form content, which is actually damaging to attention spans stuff like Elsagate, and Logan Paul only affected their personality and left trauma on them(mostly elsagate) however I wouldn't really say that Elsagate really impacted kids that much, as I have vague memories of watching it when I was young though very blurry ones

As a Russian I must say that this is pretty much a common practice here. Aside from the classic things such as anime and video games, for every thing that becomes popular among children (be that huggy wuggy, pop it, spinners and etc.) there always will be at least some "specialist" or a "concerned citizen" to say that this things are dangerous. Honeslty, I don't think this people actually care about that stuff, and it's mostly just to create "we are saving your children" narrative to the older generations or to pretend that they are doing something to get more money. Never seen anyone taking this thing seriously though. I wonder why.
It's not any better in Poland (I'm from Poland), there was a drama about Huggy Wuggy plush and yes, they considered it a threat, because according to them Huggy Wuggy in the game kills by hugging (Ok, from now on being eaten alive is hugging), and at the beginning of the 21st century there was quite a campaign against the "Dragon Ball" manga because it teaches children that they should pay with their bodies (?), and in the background there was a whispered text of "Sex" several times (Seriousness), and religious fanatics attacked "Hello Kitty" for being associated with Satan, because a certain "Priest" probably read some creepypasta that the girl's father had a pact with the Devil and that's why " "Hello Kitty" doesn't have a mouth (Em... Acid) because she had cancer (I don't understand what the church takes, but I think it's time to change the dealer), and he understood "Hello Kitty" as "The Kitten from Hell", so yes, Satan is everywhere or something

Hi guys, I'm from Russia. It feels like our government just lives in a parallel universe, they are so detached from reality. So bs like this happens all the time. They rated My Little Pony series as M, because somewhere in the end of a show they showed a lesbian couple. They banned Death Note, because 'well it's death and dying is bad and everything what has death in the name probably wants people to off themselves'. Not only that, but they watched Death Note in a court, a pirated version with unlicensed voice acting, while watching ad every episode. Funnies shit I've ever seen.

Yeah like, as of today I'm 22, and I always thought skibidi toilet was a nothing series that was made with minimal effort and spawned a bunch of content farms (which of course that last part is true regardless because of its popularity), but like 2 weeks ago or so I read a Twitter thread explaining its lore because I was bored, and I was surprised that its actually a pretty good series. It has good messages in it and the lore is pretty deep and interesting, and honestly I'm tempted to watch it now and follow along. From the outside (I think mainly because its in Gary's mod tbh, makes it look a bit dated and very weird to adults who aren't into gaming and stuff) it looks like low effort content, but now that I know more about it, I'm glad this is what kids are watching as opposed to nothing slop that other youtube channels post or TV/mainstream media expects/wants them to watch. Like I said, it might look very strange, but I have a newfound appreciation for skibidi toilet.
