The Police - Every Breath You Take "Synchronicity 1983" "Live in Concert" at Baseball Stadium "Tokyo Dome" 2008 Japan Sting - Vocals, Bass Andy Summers - Guitar Stewart Copeland - Drums
Stewart Copeland, The Police's drummer is one of the most underrated drummers of all time. He puts in an incredible amount of energy into every song and its usually very subtle. This song is a perfect example. Look how hard he works for a relatively laid back song.
Copeland has given copious interviews on their musical differences. Stingo is a pop start singer icon who needs a solid session drummer to lay down a rythm for him to express his full Stingness…then over his left shoulder WW3 is going on behind the kit 😂😂😂
Copeland...fine drummer...but The Best?....The Professor! As far as "only three guys".....RUSH I should think comes to mind AND they too sold out Rio De Janeiro as well! Nuff Said!
The Police were and still remain to be of the greatest band of all time, every generation since the 80's has been listening to this band, they are timeless.
Prince, Tony Plevin, Paul McCartney, Peter Gabriel, Eric Clapton, Roger Waters, Elton John, Mick Jagger, Dave Matthews, George Strait, Duane Allman......should I continue? Now I'm not taking anything away from Sting. He's good. He's VERY good. But there are plenty who are more talented musicians, more talented singers, more talented song writers. And that's just a fact.
Lots of times when you see modern videos of 80s bands it doesn't compare to how they sounded in their prime, but even by 2008 The Police seriously sounded just as good. I'm sure they would today too. Makes it an even bigger shame they broke up.
sometimes they change the musical Arrangements and it doesn't match the original song anymore. Same for Sting he sang it in a different way here. But people mostly expect the original sound. I don't know why they do that.
Castro's Midnight Losers They were successful from end of the 70s up to the 80s. So it's not wrong to calll them an 80s band too. Regatta de Blanc was published in October 1979 and Zenyatta Mondatta in October 1980.
Love that Sting uses that old bashed up bass. A ton of memories in that instrument no doubt. A wonderful group who gave us all good memories and great songs.
Yeah and he wasn't irritating on this number. Usually he's doing all sorts of weird shit live and it ruins the classical aspect of the number. No air drumming on live Police tunes.😕
Every breath you take And every move you make Every bond you break Every step you take I'll be watching you Every single day And every word you say Every game you play Every night you stay I'll be watching you Oh, can't you see You belong to me? How my poor heart aches With every step you take? Every move you make And every vow you break Every smile you fake Every claim you stake I'll be watching you Since you've gone, I've been lost without a trace I dream at night, I can only see your face I look around, but it's you I can't replace I feel so cold, and I long for your embrace I keep crying, baby, baby please Oh, can't you see You belong to me? How my poor heart aches With every step you take? Every move you make And every vow you break Every smile you fake Every claim you stake I'll be watching you Every move you make Every step you take I'll be watching you I'll be watching you (Every breath you take) (Every move you make) (Every bond you break) (Every step you take) I'll be watching you I'll be watching you I'll be watching you whoo, hoo (Every game you play) (Every night you stay) I'll be watching you I'll be watching you I'll be watching you I'll be watching you (Every single day) (Every word you say) (Every game you play) (Every night you stay) I'll be watching you
I was twelve years old when this song came out in 83. God, I love the eighties! The music and times are beyond description. The memories were fantastic. Glad I was old enough to remember the times. That's really all that's left. No regrets!
Classic songs like this will never die. I remember the first time I've heard that song on a radio, I was like " damnnnn, I gotta to record it be any means necessary.
Yeah, you were too late for Hendrix, and Joplin, and Morrison, et al, so no doubt Gordon, and the fellas were a breath of fresh air for that time. I can't believe I passed up going to see them at a little hole in the wall bar in Kansas City, Kansas as their careers were on the verge of skyrocketing. Such is life. It's not my only regret.
I beg to differ sir. When Leo Kottke had to give up playing for awhile due to carpal I realized I better adjust my style. I work with my hands and if I missed work because I was playing too hard, that would make the boss very unhappy. I don't have Brian May hands so I've learned to work with what I've got. No pain, no pain as they say.
I've met plenty of people my age (20) who listen and understand this along with so many other artists from this era. Trust me, music isn't generation bound.
Old or not, we've all sighed out loud if we are the least aware of what this song is about. This is very popular in wedding ceremonies and videos... jeez.
Sting is the most truely gifted musicians of our era. Rarely, if ever, do we come across an artist, with such Intellect, Depth, Innovation and Creativity.
John you have heard by now what 3D is. They are in 3D. I just can't imagine the pressure. Think about it. They are public figures. They are naked in front of us. Think twice.
incredible band, This song is so powerful in words. It's true we usually see 4 or 5 in a band. But the only 3 in this Police band were so good and meaningfull. Their music at this time was a revolution. I love it.
It's perfectly OK to listen to pop songs. But it has to be an everlasting tune like this. Not just any computer programming shit these days on the radio.

To all who say that they believe all religions and therefore support all narritives of life: Then you all allowing yourselve to be deceived and that willingly: Bible warns and reminds us: BE NOT DECEIVED! Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 1 Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. Ezekiel 14:9 And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel. Proverbs 20:1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. Luke 21:8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them. Question the narrative, seek out the real deal aka answers/information and then decide to believe or not to.

Lord God, thank You for Sting !!! Thank you for creating it so wonderfully. When I listen to His songs, I see You in them and I feel the beauty. Thank o God !
Still, this is my favorite song by the police. I wish their drummer could teach me more about drumming than I already know, only because: no matter how long you've been playing an instrument, there's always more to learn. I'd love to play this one, on a drum set. I listen to music everyday and night, and this is one of the songs on my playlist. Love it!
