@@freeliberty5996 No, he's not. According to the general consensus of scholarship *(even critical Christian scholars),* YHWH was originally incorporated into the Canaanite pantheon as a son of the Canaanite high god El before inheriting the top spot in the pantheon and El's wife Athirat (Asherah) before religious reforms. If you want to see if El is fictional, just read his mythology in the Ugaritic/Canaanite texts. His pantheon in Ugarit is called the *Elohim,* literally the plural of El. "When El was young, he came across two beautiful Goddesses washing their clothes in the Sea. They were Athirat (Asherah) and the Goddess Rahmaya, and, after buttering them up by cooking a meal for them, he asked them to choose between being his daughters or wives. They choose the latter and became the mothers of the Gods Shachar "Dawn" and Shalim "Dusk"." *"First, a god named El predates the arrival of the Israelites into Syria-Palestine.* Biblical usage shows El was not just a generic noun, but often a proper name for Israel’s God (e.g., Gen 33:20: “El, the God of Israel”)." "I should add here that it is very clear from the grammar that the noun nachalah in v. 9 should be translated “inheritance.” *Yahweh receives Israel as his “inheritance” (nachalah), just as the other sons of El received their nations as their inheritance (nachal, v. 8).* With this verb, especially in the Hiphil, the object is always what is being given as an inheritance. Thus, Israel is given to Yahweh as his inheritance. ((Here I’m indebted to Dan McClellan.)) It would make no sense for Elyon to give himself an inheritance. Moreover, as I’ve argued elsewhere, it is not just the Gentile nations that are divided up according to the number of the sons of El. It is all of humankind, i.e., “the sons of Adam.” This clearly includes Israel. And the sons of Adam are not divided up according to the number of the sons of El, plus one (i.e., plus Elyon). They are divided up, according to the text, solely according to the number of the sons of El. *Thus, that Yahweh receives Israel as his inheritance makes Yahweh one of the sons of El mentioned in v. 8. I think 'volcano' God may have been another deity that got incorporated into the Yahweh body, much like how he took the sky storm aspects from Baal. Anat sounds like a feminine version of Anu who i think was a sky God, again, she may have been tag teamed into the Yahweh mix. I think Mary is an example of tacked on Goddess but not a Goddess worship.

I wish there was a way for us to translate their work to English. In fact one of them is Syrian lecturing currently at the university of Beijing on Middle Eastern religions and cultures, his name is Firas Alsawwah. Who’s books like (The mystery of Ashtar) and (The first adventure of the mind) maid me change my mind about religion and slowly doubt and become an atheist. Also the Iraqi scholar living in Amsterdam I believe Khazal Almajidy wrote extensively about these subject.

Funny how this works. We borrow a lot from other cultures and take ideas to incorporate them into our own. Our languages are great examples, showing how we share the same origins and use similar words across different countries. Heck even our writing... But we are very blind that much of our cultural ideas and values also get borrowed from similar origins. And this video is a fantastic example of how religion moves through different cultures and tribes.

as an atheist myself, it is metaphysically impossible to say for certain that an entity does/does not exist. but by historicizing yahweh, we get pictures of how he actually looked like based of his supposed interactions with hid earliest worshippers, unlike now where he is exalted, abstracted and adorned with omni qualities by his later, more philosophically and theologically advanced followers. we can say with confidence that yahweh with these omni qualities is nothing more than positive accusation, he does not truly exist as currently envisioned. This yahweh is an imagination.

It really isn't. The dude basically just copied and pasted a few wikipedia articles and called it a day. Did he do any research to address the claims that Parker and Smith relied upon? Did he do any sort of research into how Yahweh might be a result in a shift in language within geographical zones rather than an entirely new deity that seems to have materialized out of the ether without any sort of originating pantheon? Did he do any research into Ea/Enki? What about the Egyptian influence on early Israeli iconography? The use of Egyptian-style seals to represent God? Or that the ark's design likely originated from the Egyptians? Or that there is a considerable amount of crossover of the Osiris cult and the Yahweh cult? Maybe you shouldn't put much stock in a pasty fat guy who combs through wikipedia articles and read *gasp* four whole books. There are dozens upon dozens upon dozens of articles and papers about the origins of Yahweh's name alone. There is no definitive answer on where the name comes from or what it means. It could have been an evolution of the word Ea, it might have been a separate chief deity of a conquering tribe, it might have been a nickname that caught on, it might have been a name invented to distinguish a certain belief regarding El/Ea, or many others. That doesn't even bring into account the issue of etymology; the issue of false cognates or false friends. Just because the words look similar and even have a similar pronunciation, does not in fact mean that they have the same etymologic roots and even if they did, there's no guarantee that they're at all related to the same meaning. For example, a false cognate between Spanish and English is the word "actual". In English, it means real, but the Spanish word "actual" means current. Or rope and ropa. They look like they're the same words, but rope in English is rope, but in Spanish, the word "ropa" means clothes. And that's not even bringing issues like false friends as you see between Spanish and French speakers where there is a shared etymology, but similar words have different meanings. This is just bad research to push someone's ideological worldview and present it as "scientific". There's nothing scientific about it.

Yahwist source, abbreviated as J, (labeled J after the German transliteration of YHWH), an early source that provides a strand of the Pentateuchal narrative. The basis for identifying a strand of the Pentateuch as the writing of the Yahwist-the Yahwist strand being represented specifically in Genesis 2-16, 18-22, 24-34, 38, and 49; Exodus 1-24, 32, and 34; Numbers 11-12, 14, and 20-25; and Judges 1-is not only the use of the name Yahweh for God but also the use of Yahweh in association with other indications. For example, in the Yahwist source, the name given to Moses’ father-in-law is Reuel, the mountain is always named as Sinai, and the Palestinians are referred to as Canaanites. In the source known as E in which God is called Elohim, Moses’ father-in-law is Jethro, the mountain is called Horeb, and the Palestinians are called Amorites.

That's why people are confused. But seeing the link is great. Would be great if you can also make another video on that pantheon, grind down a bit more on all the sons of El, and the babilonian and Akadian gods. And how they tie in with Egypt too.

Excellent explanation: QUESTION: This devolution from many gods to the one monotheistic God by a people described so well here, ARE there other examples in other parts of the world, or in history before all this, or after all this, of peoples coming to a monotheistic God separately to your great explanation's zone? OR, related question: Even in this zone of human history, in your chosen location to discuss how monotheism God emerged, were there sub regional examples of other regions choosing one monotheistic God themselves for similar human reasons or even for different reasons? But happening prior, to the timeline you discuss the one God concept emerging? (One would think we all being humans, all having similar desires and conflicts between one another, that this whole monotheistic God happening might have been foreshadowed by earlier wider existing examples which we simply haven't heard of, or which haven't been broadly shared by those historians who came upon other totally separate earlier instances of a group of people centering themselves to a monotheistic God?). Simpler put: are there other examples of people having chosen a monotheistic God for their sub group of people earlier in the same region, there, or elsewhere, earlier? (this later question, if answered yes, would imply this cyclical trend of monotheistic God choosing, is just a human group sociological variation and repeating human pattern) third question: How much is the "Lost In Translation" conundrum relevant to any "lost" monotheistic Gods various peoples have had which are simply truly literally lost to our understanding of this bigger issue of how a people comes to center upon a monotheistic God? (This makes me think one would have to be a philologist and multi ancient language expert to sort this all out, and conquer or even research into the possible issue of a potential "Lost In Translation" problem even being a reality, something that may have occurred to other groups who settled upon a monotheistic God, but whose history is lost/and-or "Lost In Translation" to us being aware that this monotheism God centering by human groups is just a recurring sociological human option.) I think science disproving "supernatural" events, is the biggest out flanking human history trend which is beneficial to humankind. Gods or gods doing the supernatural stuff, being disproven by science, is the big important beneficial human development over top God's or gods' supernatural effects in our world. I go with science, in a nutshell.

Hi, I found your video extremely interesting and backed up a lot of my own beliefs about the origins of Jehovah as a deity. I think its a bit like if the Greek religion became the standard religion but Sparta decided oh our main god now is Ares, ok he's part of a larger pantheon but he's the best, oh we like what Zeus does so we'll take from him what we want, oh and Apollo too and oh get rid of his wife for now, in fact he's so good now we'll get rid of all his brothers and sisters... and now make him invisible... but Ouranos is God of the sky, OK merge those two together and we have Areanos... just a few queries that I'd like to discuss, you equated El with Cronos, I'd have said Ouranos as Heavenly Sky God was possibly closer and I think that when the Hebrews were freed by the Persians from Babylonian captivity, certain aspects of Zoroastrian belief about God - Ahura Mazda and indeed Satan-Ahriman were passed into the proto-Judaic system. I'd love to see a show about the Devil too. I think in Old Testament he is just seen as any foreign God even though they were most likely from same original pantheon, like Ares and Zeus and not necessarily 'evil' as such, later Zoroastrian beliefs may have influenced the concept of a separate bad God, a shadow deity that became Satan. Will look out for more posts from you.

In 1910 Ivan Panin, a Russian/ American Harvard math genius and linguistic expert, proved the Bible mathematically. Watch - Math proves the Bible. More recently a 30 year veteran cold case criminologist J. Warner Wallace proved the Bible forensically in his book, Person of Interest. His testimony would convince any jury of the veracity of the Bible. Some of the amazing things in the Bible include the prophecy of the fall of Tyre and the prophecy of Alexander the great. Bible firsts include knowing life being in the blood long before modern science, or the Bible knowing about mountains and currents in the oceans or how the earth hangs on nothing. You should know about the prophecies fulfilled by Jesus and the impossible odds of that happening. The Bible is a reliable collection of historical documents written down by eye witnesses during the lifetime of other eye witnesses. They report to us supernatural events that took place in fulfillment of specific prophecies and claim that the writings are divine rather than human in origin. 2 Peter 1:16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. The Bible has also been proven archaeologically, historically and linguistically.

Seems like Modern Christianity’s God inherits more from the broad Canaanite El than from the Israeli Yahweh. So technically, Modern Christianity is a de facto Canaanite religion, rather than exclusively Israeli. Seems like the Israelites incorporated a lot of other Gods into the Warrior-God Yahweh. And after the Bronze Age ended, the Israeli recognition of the Polytheistic Pantheon disappeared after the Babylonian Exile, after this merger with traits from all these other gods into Yahweh.

According to archaeologist Jonathan N. Tubb, "Ammonites, Moabites, Israelites, and Phoenicians undoubtedly achieved their own cultural identities, and yet ethnically they were all Canaanites", "the same people who settled in farming villages in the region in the 8th millennium BCE."[5]: 13-14  There is uncertainty about whether the name "Canaan" refers to a specific Semitic-speaking ethnic group wherever they live, the homeland of this ethnic group, a region under the control of this ethnic group, or perhaps any combination of the three. Canaanite civilization was a response to long periods of stable climate interrupted by short periods of climate change. During these periods, Canaanites profited from their intermediary position between the ancient civilizations of the Middle East-Ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia (Sumer, Akkad, Assyria, Babylonia), the Hittites, and Minoan Crete-to become city states of merchant princes along the coast, with small kingdoms specializing in agricultural products in the interior. This polarity, between coastal towns and agrarian hinterland, was illustrated in Canaanite mythology by the struggle between the storm god, variously called Teshub (Hurrian) or Ba'al Hadad (Semitic Amorite/Aramean) and Ya'a, Yaw, or Yam, god of the sea and rivers. Early Canaanite civilization was characterized by small walled market towns, surrounded by peasant farmers growing a range of local horticultural products, along with commercial growing of olives, grapes for wine, and pistachios, surrounded by extensive grain cropping, predominantly wheat and barley. Harvest in early summer was a season when transhumance nomadism was practiced-shepherds staying with their flocks during the wet season and returning to graze them on the harvested stubble, closer to water supplies in the summer. Evidence of this cycle of agriculture is found in the Gezer calendar and in the biblical cycle of the year.

Once I had an internet fight with few Jews telling them something similar to this, which I concluded by the Bible. The first book says nothing about the name of the creator and then all of the sudden we have Yahweh. I even told them he was probably some stupid demon, which he obviously is if he's a god of war. Which explains a lot as well. Haha, people who believe in god are really... Well sorry, stupid. Go learn quantum physics, believing in human made creatures is just stupid. And if anyone was on DMT and claiming that they saw gods, no you haven't, it's your brain. The reason why we all have similar trips is also simple, we're made of the same, our consciousness is also a copy of a copy of a copy. Just go and study quantum physics, listen to music and abandon any sense of meaning, it's not important for our existence. It's more important how we treat all life on the planet. We have morals, we're just lazy to live by them because it's easier to be greedy fuck than a responsible creature. Less fun. Scientifically proven. Brain loves laziness. That's why people rather choose to believe in god, it's much easier than being an atheist.

Judaism/Chrisianity would be better defined as monolatrous (worshipping one God), rather than monotheistic (believing in only one God). The Hebrew bible intentionally describes YHWH/YHVA using the titles of reverence for the surrounding nations surpeme deities as a polemical device. This isn’t a novel concept.

Both religions refer to God as God OF GODS. They never deny polytheism. They only say that he's the King of kings; the primordial god. Hinduism and Vedic beliefs contrary to popular belief ARE MONOTHEISTIC. They believe in many gods, but believe that they are MANIFESTATIONS of certain ASPECTS and QUALITIES of the Supreme God. Much in the same way that blue and red and all colors are manifestations of white light. The Hindu TRINITY reduces these basic qualities of God into 3: The creator aspect (Brama) The preserver aspect (Vishnu) The destroyer aspect (Shiva) All 3 are further reduced until the the PRIMORDIAL God, the root of the universe, BRAMAN (not to be confused with Brama) who is what we think of when we think of "God"/The Almighty

MISDIRECTION IS HOW THE TRICK WORKS Yahusha told us He came in His Father's Name, but they would not receive Him; another they would receive (Yahukanon / John 5:43). The original name (of a person place or thing) is identified by its characteristic sound, as Paul explained at 1 Korinthians 14:7-9. Names are enunciated perfectly to sound exactly the same, no matter what language the speaker happens to be. Paul gave the example of a flute or harp playing the notes of song; if played incorrectly, it is unrecognizable. When people are told the speaker's language influences the way a name is heard, they are being subjected to the Jesuit tactic of equivocation. Special "cases" are used to explain things, and that is the Jesuit method called casuistry. I was taught by the Jesuits, and they are very deceptive and highly cunning teachers of error. Yahusha brings us His Spirit of Truth to overcome the spirit of error. #yahusha
