This video took me far to long to make lol. I've been working on it since November, and it's been a lot of work. Thanks again to Soma's academy and everyone else who helped out on the project. (Embarassing Sidenote: I misspelled "Amarna" on the map, as "Armana." I didn't even notice until I was wrapping up editing and by then it was too late, sorry!)

I came through Soma's channel I remember as a kid, being many times in a museum in Haifa, that includes mainly artifacts from these areas. Although I loved being there, I obviously didn't understand a lot. That video helped me a lot, thank you! I hope you will continue to make these, and your channel will grow.

BTW, I noticed you tried to write "cynical chicken" in Phoenician/Paleo-Hebrew in the banner of the channel, I assume? If so, you should write: 𐤕𐤓𐤍𐤂𐤅𐤋 𐤑𐤉𐤍𐤉 - for a male 𐤕𐤓𐤍𐤂𐤅𐤋𐤕 𐤑𐤉𐤍𐤉𐤕 - for a female (That's from a Phoenician keyboard, not Paleo-Hebrew) The word "aof" means Aves or a general term for birds. It may also refer for a meat of a bird (usually chicken). Like in English, "beef" and "cow" are different words. The word for chicken (Tarnegol) actually comes from Sumerian through Akkadian. It's a corruption of the word "Tar-Lugal" which means in Sumerian "the bird king". I actually laughed at the pronunciation of the names of Canaanite places.

Levant yes, Palestine no. This was not considered Palestine back then and the whole area even today isn't. I'm sure you know the origin of that word so I'm not sure why your using it to describe the entire area? Levant would be much more accurate. Calling the entire area Palestine comes across as a bias.
@nowave7
@nowave7 5 месяцев назад
Levant, on the other hand is too broad of a term, at least as far as I understand it. It would also encompass areas much further to the north and (possible) to the east. I guess Canaan would have been the least offending even though, strictly speaking that also would not be correct?

@@nowave7that is the most ridiculous excuse. Palestine would be equally ridiculous by your logic because in it's earlier use it referred to only a small fraction of what the OP said in his video (which OP is turning out to have a bag of rocks for brains based off him liking your comment and responses in other threads). Just because the Levant is slightly bigger doesn't make the land he is talking about in the video not the Levant. That's like saying I can't say USA on a video of only some states because other areas exist....dumb

Letters from Abdi-Hiba of Jerusalem to Akhenaton of Egypt complain that the habiru were posing a threat to the status quo in Canaan. The Habiru were nationalist rivals who fought against Egyptian control in the Levant. They killed Canaanite Kings and fought for their independence. You can read about them in the Bible at 1 Samuel 23:14. They also were mercenaries. You can read it at 1 Samuel 27:1-12

Really enjoyed the narrative and the reliance on archeology both new and old but I propose to you to view all of this and us from a point two thousand years in the future? with present circumstances not withstanding who or how will we view the region then , pretty much the same I believe, nothing concrete as people and their history are much more fluid than simple academic study is how we view them now . Who now controls the narrative that a future searcher will attempt to decipher? Just a thought a bit of food for thought if you will. Write a book. Maybe it will survive? 👍✌️

You nailed this. Kamose and Ahmose I forced out the Hyksos (said to be Arabian and Jewish). The story of those brothers might be “Moses” and the Exodus. As former foreign rulers it would make sense to review the Bible for potential bias, spite, and entitlement of a “borrowed” culture. IMO, this is the importance of the “curse of Ham” that extended to his son Canaan. Meaning, Ham (Africa) extended to Canaan (Palestine / Israel). Again, the potential for men writing with bias, spite, entitlement and enslavement of a group, and supremacy. As an interesting side note, using the Book of Revelation as an astronomical metaphor Jesus’s birthday can be on 9/11. Virgin Mary, Virgo Female Goddess (Constellation, heaven as sky and clothed with the sun and moon at her feet). 9 months after the Festival of Lights (Hanukkah) is September. Light, Sun, Ra. All this very interesting because we are seeing the dehumanization and genocide of “Canaan”, in which 9/11 was used after the Nakba, and the historical enslavement of Africans from French to American (reference paintings of Ahmose I sister-wife). Recap: - “Promised” land of Canaan - Dehumanization of Canaanites for an ethnostate - “Cursed” into Enteral Slavery, Canaan (Ham’s son) - Proto-Canaanite alphabet is the foundation of Hebrew Yes, there was reverence for Egyptian (Kemet) culture that shaped into something else.

Interesting that you continuously refer to the pre-Canaanite region as "Palestine" rather than "southern Levant." A quick Google search said it wasn't until Herodotus, in the 5th Century BCE, refered to it as a "district of Syria, called Palaistinê" (Ancient Greek: Συρίη ἡ Παλαιστίνη καλεομένη) in his work "The Histories." He translated from the Hebrew word Peleshet to refer to the Philistines into Palestine, the coast region of southern Levant.
@motina10
@motina10 23 дня назад
Very irritating use. And the coastal region was still between "Egypt and Phoenicia[Canaan]". Joffa did not have a Philistine presence, and even then, most Philistine cities were composed of Canaanites (because they were canaanite cities, outside of Gaza being an Egyptian city). No one beside the Greeks, Romans and later the rest of Europe would use that word. The Persians didn't when Herodotus mentioned Palestine. Palestine is as Western as calling Ebir Nari Syria. Calling the land on the other side of the river from Assyria is just... why should anyone listen to Herodotus, or proliferate his naming of regions? Hellenes, wtf!!! But I guess Rome followed your rules by calling calling Hellas Graecia. But that makes a little bit more sense.

There is doubt there was ever a united monarchy. Just tribal confederations and city states. Then possibly vassal kingdoms of the great powers like Egypt, Babylon, Persia, Assyria, Nubia, Ethiopia etc.
@DomainofKnowlegdia
@DomainofKnowlegdia 10 месяцев назад
In my view before the kingdom of Israel and Judah there was a tribal confederation with the name Israel that was made up of different groups that came from places like Egypt and Edom the ancient Israelites believed in many gods and deities and Yahweh was a storm deity that was worshiped by the Israelites, he had a wife named Ashera this pantheon of gods and goddesses had come from Canaanites. It is also possible that there was a exodus from Egypt of a small group of slaves led by a man named Moses this Israelite confederation was mix of diverse cultures and beliefs that would merge to from the Israelite nation the concept of Yahweh as the one universal god came later as Israel and Judah became two separate nations and came into contact with other nations which had different creeds and doctrines. The Tanakh as whole was compiled and written over a long period of time the writers were inspired by early myths about the creation and flood which later lead to the creation of the Hebrew bible I believe in science and in a higher power that created everything.

Based on what I've read, alot of this sounds plausible. However, as I understand, there is currently no consensus among scholars that a united kingdom ever actually existed. It is very possible that the original confederation split into two kingdoms at the onset. 10 tribes (give or take) in Israel and 2 (give or take) in Judah. The origin myths may have been molded together over time after the northern kingdom got destroyed by the Assyrians and many refugees fled south. Monotheism also seemed like a necessary invention/defense mechanism to preserve the ancient israelite culture under babylonian captivity. A central component to their society was a temple which was supposed to be their primary god's literal dwelling place on earth... If his house is destroyed, Yahweh suddenly needs to become more than just the head of a very regional pantheon to maintain cultural relevance. Suddenly he needed to be a universal entity that can be worshipped everywhere, always present.

So here we call Judea after bronze age Greeks and Ebir Nari (the Levant) after Assyria, which was Mesopotamian (which at least means the same things as the locals (Current arabic name is bilad ma bayn alnahrayn - nahrayn is river, since it's semitic it is very close to Nari vs the Greek work for water 'potami').

Not my problem, I used a geographic term that's been used since the time of the Greeks and has been used by scholars for centuries, which has only been recently politicized🤷‍♂️ And using "Canaan" is problematic for two reasons. 1) It wasn't used until ~1800 BCE, which according to your logic I can't use it until then, so how would I describe the people before then? 2) It was a very loose region, there weren't exact bounds for what it was referring to, compared to the very exact bounds of the terms, Palestine, Syria, and Levant. Also writing didn't exist in the Copper Age so we have no clue what they called it back then.

If so, the Palestinians would still be known as boat / sea people which they are not. The Philistines were instrumental in trade with Egypt which is how Egypt obtained a lots of their recourses in the areas close to Egypt. Again, not Palestinians. I could give you, the earliest time the area was called the 12 kingdoms of Israel, was 1198 B.C., where there is reference for Philistia at that same time. AGAIN not Palestine. Again Named by romans later. Not in Copper age times you keep saying repeatably. So use the correct name otherwise you are confusing people with in-accuracy.

 @jhoee2487 it was first called "Palestine" by Heretodus, get your facts right. Second, Canaan has the same issues. If you watched the video (and my other videos) you would hear me mention how "Canaan" was a word used by people outside the Levant, not the people themselves, they didn't consider themselves Canaanites. Thats the same situation as with Palestine youre attacking me for. Why would I choose a term that was only used in a select time and rarely used since over a modern geographic term? Never said it was in use during the Copper Age, you were the one who said I shouldn't have used it during the Copper Age, rather telling me to use the term they used back then. I just pointed out we don't know what the people called the region during the Copper Age, so I can't do that, which upends your argument. So oh wise one, if I can't use Palestine what term shall I use?

@@ClayandPapyrus ITS hilarious you reference wikipedia as your source. The most left wing, liberal pile of b.s. there is. That reference was around 500 bc, but the land was referenced the 12 kingdoms of Isreal in 1198 bc. Silly little boy. I know counting dates is hard.

 @jhoee2487 never referenced Wikipedia, here's my reference though www.jstor.org/stable/40105058 Palestine is a modern geographic term, Israel isn't, it describes a Iron Age Kingdom and now modern state. That's why I didn't use it. Word of advice, don't make fun of a person saying they don't have a source, when they made over 180 citations on a video.

Palestine was not known as this until the Romans in 63BCE. There were two Jewish states at that time Judea and Israel.😊

U went from hominids to the copper age? The hominids existed before Adam. They were created by the fallen angels and they existed in NOD before Canaan was ever thought about. The earth was a Pangea(one giant land mass). Noah divided the earth. Ham inherited the Americas, which was a part of Egypt(MIZRI)….Ham gave Canaan the Americas but Canaan went and took Shem’s land. He renamed it after his own name Canaan! He was also double cursed white and to be a servant of servants……u missed a lot of information and u jumped a huge portion of the timeline!

This is a scholarly video that deals with facts (as much as possible), not myths. Bible is a nothing more than a collection of myths, fables and stories in absence of external sources to prove otherwise. What you quoted is a creational myth, which of course cannot be corroborated by anything.

Multiple excuses giving "King" David and his followers to Commit ancient Ge-no-cide during the late bronze age against southern Canaan (Modern day Isr--ael) , taking advantage of a weaken Egyptian empire due to the sea peoples (most probably friends with North canaan = Tyre sidon byblos , the only city states in the eastern med not destroyed by sea people) The Sea people could most probably be a mix of northern European barbarians or Warrioirs + the sailors/traders who dealt for hundreds of years and mingled with Northern Canaanites of Tyre until Arwad to the north = later known as Phoenicians from 1200 BC until Alexander the "Great" destroyed everything and helped the Romans to rule. Anyways so the Old Testament is written in Old Hebrew which Happens to be almost exactly the same as the Phoenician alphabet. So not only they Killed them, they took their language , made it there own ! A true Ge-no-cide Why is it Normal for them to attack and kill with green lights... There is something really wrong here! The Canaanites were the richest most advance citizens of the Bronze age , most probably much earlier as well! They created the Alphabet ! They most probably created the Minoans who mirrored their port cities, castles , tradition , Religion (the Greek Gods evolved from stories told in the Minoan civilization of Crete)which happen to be the same Gods of the Canaanites with dif. names...) The Northern city states of Canaan Geographically isolated by land from Ras Naqoura from the South till Ras Al chaq"aa or The Face of God to the north (Modern day Lebanon North Batroun) made them harder to conquer, so they built really good city walls and looked to the sea , had some advanced Boats (they reached Australia, its filled with evidence of the Phoenicians) became mostly sea people and traders and became very important to control but not destroy because they were THE ULTIMATE middlemen! The Moneymakers of the Bronze and older civilizations.. Other Canaanites were the Brilliant engineers and brilliant individuals that came from humble beginnings and Ruled (without any Bloodshed) in Babylon and Egypt (Hyksos) for hundred of years Hitties-Assyrians Babylonians-Persians-Greeks-Romans-Byzantines-NeoPersians Muslim Arabs-TurcoPersian muslims- Crusaders- Egyptian Muslims- Ottomon Empire in addition systematic 3200 year old attack by the J1 J-e-w-s made the Canaanites thought be really destroyed and instinct! Yes they took everything from the Canaanites because the Canaanites never had Armies of their own, they were peaceful and Brilliant ! Love to share and grow wealthy ,chilled with everyone Hence the J2 Canaanites still live till this day in Lebanon and the Levante, Cyprus, Crete, Greece, turkey, Sardinia, Sicily, Malta, Albania, Central west mainland Italy , Tunis, Spain, Portugal , Wales. Cant be right to curse someone while Drunk and God will say ok!! I Humbly request Rome to finally release the True full Bible, Let everyone know . Canaanites played the Major Role spreading Christianity , the people of Galilei were Canaanites, at least 10 of the Apostles were Canaanites , Jesus also Canaanite (Lady Mary from south of Lebanon) they talked Aramaic not Hebrew and so on.... Its a pity how they managed to even portray them as baby scarifying monsters with Evil Gods! Baal= just means Lord.... So YEAH! It was Drunk Noah who did the Cursing this resulted to how is happening now!
