I grew up in northern California in the 49er area and we use to mine all year why is it you have seasons is it the weather

I would love to try finding gold but I think I would love just going with the machine looking on the ground.. here in sweden its forbidden to search like that...

It would be interesting to know how many of these crews around this size actually turn a profit at the end of the season. Seems exciting but relentless. You have a moment like this then realise most of it’s gone on keeping things afloat, and the profit goes into the next claim that’s going to make you rich. Life of a miner hay, not for everybody.

After all the digging and paying the crew for the season cost of fuel maintenace on machinery. How much do they really make out with?

Would it be worthwhile to sluice all that dirt which you dig up, after taking out any big gold pieces? Surely there must be some worthwhile smaller gold in all that loose earth.

Through all the crews in Gold Rush On the Discovery Channel will never come close to finding a Gold Nugget like this one... I just goes to show that a trommel and sluicing does not unearth Gold nuggets, but only flake and gold dust... this is why they definitely need up grades on there ways on unearthing Gold especially the big Golden nuggets...
