Your limitations are found in your beliefs about your potential and what you believe you are capable of. Change your beliefs and you set yourself free from your limitations. If you've ever tried to change a belief, you know how hard it is. But maybe it's only hard because you don't know how to change your beliefs. It's time to change that.

NLP or Neuro Linguistic Programming has created an incredible foundation for me in my pursuit of mastering my life, which is why I teach it in my self improvement trainings and apply it when I do life coaching or help people with their businesses. NLP is a powerful model that will help you accelerate your results. It's also the ultimate state management toolkit.
Ever wonder where Tony Robbins got his understandings of human behavior and influence? NLP was a major part of his education as a self improvement guru.

Thanks Damon. This was powerful. The take away I got that struct me deeply was : the beliefs that I am not aware of have the ones that have more control of life. I realize that it is important for me to realize what my beliefs are in the various context of my life and to know that those beliefs that don't serve me can be changed. Thank you for this teaching. Watching the replay. Biggest takeaway is that changing beliefs should include real life evidence that support new beliefs. So much of the self improvement space talk about beliefs and becoming your ideal self, imagining that person from their perspective, etc. but leave that part out. And while that does feel good, it usually feels like a fantasy, and then you just go right back to who you "are" so to speak. It makes sense that there needs to be a sense of reality to a new belief, or your mind probably won't take it seriously enough to change your identity because the beliefs that are already there have more evidence to support them. Also that you don't need overwhelming evidence, just something or a few somethings to put your attention on instead to give yourself new options and resources and to flip the belief. Thanks Damon.

Interesting story about the negotiation and the guy getting angry. It was your consistency that upset him. I notice this driving on the highway when I set cruise control. People in the lane next to me don't know what to do, they think I'm trying to pass them but I'm just going a consistent speed, so they will speed up, get confused, sometimes fall back. They rarely try to pass me. And maybe they think I'm an aggressive asshole, but I'm not putting any effort into "winning" or being the "fastest" etc. I'm new to your videos and I am very happy I found them, thank you.

Another take away. Which I find it very key, this is quite profound. Replace the limiting beliefs with something better, don't attempt to destroy it. Without our beliefs we will feel lost, chaotic, afraid. That's why we cling onto our beliefs even when we know they are limiting beliefs.

My biggest takeaway from this has been my "skill" that I am really good at. I am really good at influencing people, despite the fact that I tell myself that I am not very good at it. Looking towards evidence to the contrary of my belief, I have been and always have been really good at influencing people. What is keeping me from being great at this is me holding myself back for fear that those I am influencing will no longer appreciate/respect/love me. Thanks, I always get so much from your teaching, keep shinning bright!

Replay; I feel more connected in understanding this one. Especially the complex equivalences.. Ex. I grew up with...there for I am not secure, or fully aware of ''x''. It's like understanding there is a gap, but find either excuses, or subconscious blocks to not grow in this belief. Also I wonder if we cling onto a limiting belief instead of Chaos, is because at least it is familiar, and in that there is some Order. Thank you again Damon for these videos, and communicating these subjects so well.

As someone with childhood trauma (as I'm sure many of us have), my question is: I know not to identify as a victim but in that topic I have trouble finding a healthy replacement belief or make that my "story." I.e. "I was great but my parents suck, just disregard them," etc. I already say they were fallible and human but it's unknown to me how to fill the hole of not being mirrored myself back to me I'd like to complete a recorded course of available. There's a happiness block in there and I'm afraid it's stuck to repressed memory

I watched the replay. My take away are... 1. To be aware of my limiting beliefs. 2. To decide what are the beliefs that I would rather have instead. 3. To find examples/ experience that support the new beliefs that I am building. 4. Repeat step 3 until the new belief is strengthened and solid. I do have a question. Does it mean that we have to make conscious effort, intentionally work on ONE belief that we want to build, day by day, until the belief is strengthened? And then move onto the next one? Also, I notice when I tried to find experience that support the new belief, my mind is completely blank! I can't find any experience to support the new belief! How to manage that situation?
@DamonCart
@DamonCart 9 месяцев назад
If you feel like you have too many beliefs to work on, either you're not going general enough or you're not first eliciting deeply unconscious limiting beliefs. Think of broad, general beliefs that would overcome many smaller limiting ones. For example, maybe I believe I'm a failure at money, my career, relationships, and parenting. You could say that these are 4 limiting beliefs you have. Instead of trying to build a positive belief for each one, build the belief that you are successful and use examples from each context. Qualities of your identity are more general than contexts in your life because the contexts are specific to a particular area of your life while a quality is something you take everywhere you go so it's much stronger. Build beliefs about who you are rather than focusing on beliefs about results you want to have. Don't go on a witch hunt trying to find limiting beliefs. Think about what you want in your life and check in to see if there are any limiting beliefs preventing you from creating it. If so, work on that one. If not, go forward! But don't sit around hunting down limiting beliefs to transform. You'll spend the rest of your life doing this and you'll never actually get out and do anything.It will probably be easier for you to work on one belief at a time, but everyone is different. You might find that a lot of your examples have a lot of positive beliefs in common so you can easily build multiple beliefs at a time. If you're struggling to find examples for the beliefs you want to build, it's probably because your standard is too high. This is what people get wrong so often in personal development. You might say, isn't it good to have high standards? In some cases yes, but when it comes to supporting positive beliefs about yourself, why would you not want to include even the smallest piece of evidence? It doesn't mean that you can't do bigger and better things, but it makes no sense to not include every ounce of good in every belief you want to create. So widen your scope of however you're defining the belief to include all examples, small and big.

I like most of this mans work, but the issue of not strongly considering the evil in the world troubles me. I am a Muslim and hearing that I should see the world as a great place makes this video troublesome. Some of us need to put our big guys and gals underwear on and deal with life as it is! Change comes not from thinking the world is great; change comes from being confident that we can make it better.
@DamonCart
@DamonCart Месяц назад
You're misunderstanding what I'm saying. I never said we should completely overlook the horrors of the world. It's best to accept them as happening and do our best to make the world better. Same for ourselves. However, does it serve you to believe overall that the world is an evil place? If you do, is that not discouraging? What's the point of doing good if the world is an evil place? This belief would only encourage defeated thoughts about what's actually possible in the world. If you believe that the world has its flaws and imperfections, but overall it's a great place that contains everything we need to continue making it better, how might that affect how you live your life? Which way of thinking do you think is better? What does being Muslim have to do with this? You can be a member of any religion or no religion at all and be troubled by what you call evil.
