The Power of Direct Revelation: Shamans Cave

Thank you for this wonderful conversation. I began shamanic journeying quite serendipitously with Hank Wesselman in a workshop at the Omega Institute years ago. I was so claustrophobic that I struggled to go to the Lower World. Years later I tried again and this time went through a favorite tree and down below everything expanded so I didn’t feel claustrophobic and there were twinkle lights guiding me. 🥰 To this day I almost always go to the Lower World and am so grateful for the guidance I receive there. 🌲🐻🧚 🐺 🦁 💚

Personally, I’d love more teachings/conversations about direct revelation. I think it’s really important to be able to find answers for your life that arise from your higher self essence, our spirit helpers and guides and the Divine/Source.

I found shamanism after searching for a spiritual practice that resonated with me. What I connected with most was direct revelation. I was very fortunate as a young adult to have a Jungian therapist trainee who taught me my own dream language. This was so helpful when interpreting my own shamanic journeys. Many times I would receive a metaphor that I didn't understand. And, I trusted my helping spirits enough that sometimes I wouldn't know what the message meant until a month, 3 months or even a year later. But, my spirits left clues. And, I was deeply involved in service to others, when I belonged to a shamanic circle. It feels hard to do it on my own. After a long dark night of the soul (5 years) where I was , most of the time, disconnected from myself, the world and my helping spirits, I'm taking up my practice again, and have been inspired by you Renee and Sandra. I love the idea of a practice to reconnect to the web of life. Looking forward to the next video.

Thank you for the inspiration. I did a journey to meet a teacher/guide for direct revelation. I was told that I am exactly where I should be on my journey. Just being and radiating my light. Stay on my path and don’t interfere with another’s path. Use discernment and leave your ego at the door. My intention is to rely on spirit for direction and I have never been let down. I have just recently started my spiritual journey and am feeling excited and uplifted about what is ahead for me. I am probably around your ages and feel I have a lot to learn. I had a beautiful dream of the world tree when I was in my 20's and it has never left my consciousness. I would love to learn how to connect to this wisdom.

Also shout out for the beautiful book Winds of Change. I have been delighted reading the book. It is one of those books I will feel sad when I finish because I do not want to get to the end. It has really opened up my mind to a world I had not imagined before. I am learning so much from it. Another perspecive on how to approach shamanic topics that I consider valuable for your consideration is: talking about the ailments of modern life and deconstruct the shamanic practice that helps with it. For example, modern ailment in the world today is fear, what shamanic practices can help with fear. Another one could be for the younger generation: lack of self-esteem. What shamanic practices can help overcome it? This could help build a co-relation between shamanic practices and how they have a positive impact in every single aspect of our daily life. Not just a portion of our life dedicated to our spiritual growth.

I am relating to the horizontal implications regarding a major health issue that is chronic. Maybe it was a portal. Lately I have not felt a connection with my helping spirits. An overwhelming unwell feeling. Thank you for the web practice. I know once I feel connected again guidance will be more clear. Im not on FB. Will share here. I am able to see the shimmering silvery stands. Delicately connect with me. I bask a moment there. I understand my movement (actions, thoughts,etc) impact the strands of the larger web. I feel calm and a part of something beautiful that is beyond my pain. Thank you. It took a month to listen but it was perfect timing. 💞✨

Excellent conversation. I work as an intuitive and while I don't delineate the same exact way in my work regarding horizontal and vertical, I get completely what you are saying. And the story that Sandra told about getting ill after working so much more with the horizontal felt very resonant. I work with direct revelation, too. Nothing wrong with the horizontal but when we know what our path is, what our gift is, and where the work is, it's good to stay with it. Clear channel, plumb line. Thank you so much. Bless you both.

I feel that I’ve been learning from some wonderful shaman, who have given me a balanced approach. Where we do ceremony in middle world, and lower world journeys, as well as upper world in finding direction and helping us with better discernment in the middle world.

Great episode! Lots of mentions of our helping spirits, perhaps a topic idea is more on how to listen and connect to our helping spirits. I'm sure you've probably already talked about it plenty though LoL It seems part of the process is just asking them out loud for help. Back during fall eclipse season I asked my spirit guides for help, as well as my passed father. Right after my salt soak, I discovered a private message from someone who appears to be the reincarnation of my father (I don't think this person knows though). I asked for a message and sure got it, lots to think on.

The part on going into portals.....that makes sense, not to go unless guided.

I've never heard of the term Direct Revelation. I am 37 and spiritually reawakened fully this year. I want to be the devoted healer that you speak about. But I feel like I need an invitation.

So much good information to bring much thought and, trying to think of the best way to say this, gave me many new ways of going deeper and exploring new things. A lot of good stuff! 😅 I guess that says what lm trying to get across! Thank you ladies! Will be listening to this a few times. Maybe part of direct revelation is also knowing our dominant element??? I kept hearing this SO loudly through entire first part of your video! If we understand which element we are most closely aligned with it can help us to be alert to the hints and whispers trying to get our attention in daily middle world life. Like for you Renee perhaps it’s Air/Wind and why you’re so fast moving? I Need to rewatch this and then I’ll comment more. So much to digest here. I’m very interested in this whole topic. I love Renees ideas. ABC's! Lol. Part of my gift is that I have a child like mind and way of speaking. I relate to kids and they like me always instantly. My 4-year-old is right on my wavelength. 😂. I have always said children are "my people." I think the reason for this is so that I can be a guide and a light FOR those little people. Somebody has to explain it in more simple terms. And I'm good at that. The other night I was struck by artistic inspiration, divine-style, and wrote the outline for a book. It explains through lots of little metaphors, how to find meaning in life. I've just started channeling and still don't know the difference between myself and my higher self. But whenever I catch myself being obviously in the ego mind, I will use something like "ABC 123" repeated to get me back in that Flow State. There's a connection here. You feel me?? 😊❤❤😂

Thank you for another wonderful episode. Since you asked what topics we are interested in, I personally am very interested in how shamanic work can help with depression and anxiety. It is rampant in our society. I remember one episode in particular about two years ago, you ladies mentioned the importance of movement to help the energies move through and out of the body. IN another episode you mentioned about the shaman in another country who went psychotic in order to then be a healer for others who entered that state. But I would love to learn more to see the correlation between the shamanic work and the power of the elements or the star beings to assist clearing these very dense and heavy states of consciousness. And from a shamanic point of view, what is the service and purpose of these dense states of consciouness? why experience them? This is a topic I am interested in because my young adult daughter suffers from depression and I often ask myself, what is she learning from this, what is the purpose behind this and how I can assist?

The piece on direct revelation -- and the vertical as well as horizontal dimensions --made me think. I was wondering if you might consider a session on how you can tell the difference between the "voices" of the vertical vs horizontal? I think it can be challenging for me to try and discern between what may simply be my own ego (coming from the horizontal??) and what is truly divine revelation / inspiration (vertical??) Thank you!

The Spirit plants seeds in my imagination. i nurture. I am a soul with a body I won’t always have. I am trying to prepare for that time. I go inside and grow. When I am dead what will I wish I had done to prepare when I was alive? What do I need to do now, while I still have ability to effect change on Mother Earth?

I’d love to hear about why it hurts so much to cut down a tree. I had an Ash tree right outside my bedroom that I was very connected to and it got Emerald Ash Borer Disease and we decided to cut it down. I feel like I’m grieving as if a loved one passed away. Have you experienced anything like this? Did you continue to have a connection with your tree after its death?

I'm somewhat curious that Sandra would say she's "sacrificed my entire life to bring this work to people." [time stamp 2:20] Words carry tremendous power, as you well know! I wonder if she really feels it's been a sacrifice and if so, could her health challenges be the manifestation of the unconscious [resentment, regret, fill-in-the-blank feeling] as a result. And if that doesn't resonate, then perhaps it would be wise to be conscientious about the words we choose (and I say WE because I know I catch myself regularly using words inappropriately!) I love the idea of an A-Z topic series, and I have a suggestion for A: apathy vs detachment. As it relates to direct revelation, what does it feel like? When I receive what I perceive to be direct revelation or divine guidance, I turn first to my heart and what does this feel like? Did that last idea put a smile on my face and fill me with joy, or maybe a sense of excitement? That's easy to recognize. But sometimes it's a flash of understanding and carries no feeling at all, detached or apathetic. Sometimes it's not entirely clear if it's my self (little s) giving me input that's really not appropriate, so I can gently thank it for it's participation in my life and tell it to go play quietly in it's sandbox with it's toys. I also know if it's direct revelation or divine guidance it will come again, and again and again until I accept it as such. So I'd love to hear you both talk about how and why direct revelation might be (or seem to be) apathetic or detached. What is the difference between apathy and detachment. Also, what is appropriate in our own personal interactions with the world around us and whether it's detachment or apathy we might be engaged in, and what is appropriate? I so appreciate your sharing your literal "hand slap" because that's exactly what I'm practicing regularly: I have no right to interfere with another's path, regardless of how it appears to me that it "needs my help." But is that apathy or detachment? Love you both!

CHAPTER 6 Power Practice Consulting a Power Animal p123: "The first few times you engage in this work, it is best to keep your question simple, so that it can be answered in a “yes” or “no” manner." I feel like I know already the answer of the different types of question I could ask... Could you have a conversation about the types of question that could be used to stabilise/enliven the level of confidence towards the guide?

My cousin’s wife has MS and he has given up gardening as the deer damage has worn him down . I have recently moved closer to him and I will not bend to the needs of the deer. I do not see the gardening shows dealing with deer and rabbit damage to gardens , my feeling is that they are ignoring the damage done to the gardens in low income areas and they live in areas where everyone has Marie Antoinette fencing. I am going forward on behalf of people with MS , people who love roses , and people who believe that plants love us. I am very sad that people who get their vegetables from Whole Foods are either unaware or not caring for those who cannot go to Whole Foods. I am just be throwing this out as a topic for you to consider . It may be a topic too touchy for you to address and I understand .
