This problem remains, many good officers you need in the game 1: behind P2 wall 2: Extremely hard to obtain (only through special events such as incursions) or 3: many other types of walls You see it with many officers, such as Lorca, every strike team officer, hugh, SNW Una, Jadzia Dax, Odo, Jaylah.. there are many more..
I have been playing for a year now. I am level 31. I believe around Christmas there was a change - where we starting being able to get GREAT officers without paying, more often. I get epic officers slowly thru the shard draws.
Oh yeah, that guy! I spent 10 weeks of saved up mats in an XSLB to get him, and ended up with 25 Fkn shards for my trouble since the other server was way ahead of us. So I might be halfway to getting him. No more XSLB’s for me, thx.
There maybe a source path, but is a horrible one where you have to choose officer over the new ship upgrades / faction credits, and even then hope the RNG is helpful. Given number of his shards in the packs would still take years to source.
Great video! I was able to get Hugh in last months events. He is amazing for hostile grinding... However, I wasn't aware it didn't work for armadas. I've been throwing him on for those thinking it would. Oh well, I will stack more strength instead for armadas then. Still a great BDA.
The issue is finding the balance between ship parts, faction credits, and armadas. I'm not sure what the answer is but I think once I get my Talios to T4 I'm going to go back to focusing on armadas and independent credits.

now that he can be sourced on the borg events but need close to 600k of that borg credit and i think can get about 20k+ per event so about a year unless they add him to transporter patterns

You mentioned last video that you didn't get Pic Beverley's bridge ability, I didn't either until you mentioned how Hugh can give 100% crit in this video

@Paulo Filho He's very limited though, only high hull reds seem to take advantage of him. and only available through Cash atm. While hugh works on every single red hostile, some very very well and others not quite as good but gives a noticeable increase in killing ability. And was and still is sourceable without cash.
biggest problem as f2p is you need epic directives to even try to get the Hugh shards in borg refinery. even if you can beat the epic solos. I have 400 rare directives an 0 epic and lvl 40 player, nit sure I could even take a rare yet.
Last time i checked my T5 Auger T5 Ent and T4 D4 with a pretty solid armada crew couldnt even destroy a rare borg solomada let alone an Epic. So i totally agree with you that Hugh is really important. But F2P just can barely get there 90% of the time with these hard to source officers. Edit: i just tried again with cloaking on the Auger and D4...supported with Cerritos...and a 300% Armadas exocomp....can only get about 1/4 hull off a Borg Solo Armada...
@@RevDeuce I made sure I got all the borg solomada research done as soon as it came out before even attempting one. Auger is now T6 with just the armor upgrade to go so maybe it will be better now. Might see if using my T3 Talios will be better than the D4.
Rev again mentions Scopley reducing grinding. No they haven't. Other than travel the grind freebooters apply to wasn't the problem. That's a 15m grind minus the travel. That grind also applies to your faction rep. The freebooters negate the faction rep gain so you still need to travel 10+m to deep space to grind faction ships. So what value do freebooters give? You also need to do these grinds for ship parts. That isn't changing. Freebooters are a bust but at least this new required grind is short to source the needed currency for ex-borg research tree. It doesn't address the grind problem in any way. There's just to much grinding to do in to many places. Faction, ship part, apex, exchange, jimmies, borg, armada, etc. Solo armada suck up a lot of time, resources, and occupy 3 ships that are needed to mine the dozen or so things to mine or grind reds in multiple system. Definitely has stopped being possible to do everything everyday and gotta start picking and choosing what's of value each day to do. This problem is only going to get worse judging by the current path. Scopley just doesn't seem to see the grind problem for what it really is.
I figured out how to get him. Join an alliance of Whales and let their spending carry me.... You did indeed say this was the solution to get the pulls from the Borg store. Talios Armadas
If you're doing 1 borg a day, and thus the proper amount of epics, mathematically you shouldn't be going 2 months and not seein Hugh shards. That's some terrible RNG if so. I've never NOT gotten hugh shards from my pulls.
No Rev I have 75% of the uncommon offers and 50% of the rare offers in those boxes maxed out what do I get when I get these shards NOTHING a better lucky next time please try again from scoply so ill ignore that resources sucking feature as usual
Hugh is great, but that crew deserves to be in a bad crew video ;D Mentioning the Solo Borg Chests you make it sound easy, but scopely wants you to use the same resource you need to buy the directives with to upgrade the Tally and get Independent and Faction Credits. I stopped doing Solo Borgs soon after they got implemented. The tally made the game worse so far
Being a lvl 35, I now feel like I have to really push up to 38-39 just to start getting any new stuff they want to put out. Being that, it just plain sucks that I barely have a D4 at T3 with no Enterprise or Augur. So am I really ready? Plain and simple, no. I am apparently a slower player even though I'm on there playing 5-6hrs/day... and I've been on since conception. So either I just suck as a player or maybe I just need to quit. In relation to this video, its awesome, but realistically, when am I ever going to be able to aquire Hugh? I still can't defeat ANY of the solo madas... hence, not strong enough even with trying crews you've posted. Just one word man, Frustrating! So yeah, let's throw more out there for players to have to deal with.
@@RevDeuce There is some of the FOMO, but for the most part, its just wanting to be able to have the ability to get whatever the new stuff is. For exp: the "ship parts" in the refinery isn't anything I can do until a later OPS lvl just like the new Ex-Borg faction as well as the research tree. So why should the lower lvl players even see it? If they take that kind of stuff out of sight, then maybe a little less stress will happen for players. For me it just makes me mad. We can't see "Jelly Brawl" for exp so there's no, "have to get that ship" kind of thing going on. Maybe pass that on?😁
I will say taht yes, if you've been playing since the game came out and are only level 35 you are moving super slowly. I'd be curious to know what your routine is if you're spending 5 hours a day.
@@RevDeuce Well, the 1st 2-3 hours are all actually just trying to do dailies. The next 2 will be trying to compete the days events. In the case I have free time where I don't have dailies or events, I try to get an extra build up of credits from dominion reds, then some in Acation reds. If I'm able after that, I will either try for borg or go mine data. But I will definitely not be able to do it all. Work and the wife suck up the time too.
yes you can get hugh from the borg epic chest, but the % of the that happening is very very low, durring a period of one and a half months i only got 2 shards, opening 1 chest everytime it is available
The borg solo is just bad. While there may be sourcing day one, the sourcing is so bad, players are better off getting him in the event store. The event store that they skipped. Scopley has been failing badly. The new officers this arc are so bad, I am skipping the spend events.
