Line and Color Quick Start Guide: www.thedrawingcodex.com/quick...
Real time Fully Narrated Draw With Me Session!
In this tutorial I am aiming to create a relatively complex piece using a simple reliable process in Photoshop. The goal is to give the composition as impact as possible, even though the style is simple.
(Hopefully I succeeded... let me know what you think).
The video is quite long, around four hours, but I think it's important to show the process of how art is actually created. Hang out and draw along!
(All the brushes I am using as well as the basic techniques are included and covered in the QuickStart Guide above.)
A big part of the art journey is figuring out how you apply these concepts into your own work and style!
If you want to learn about the drawing techniques I am using based on the Loomis Method you can check out these videos:
Building The Figure - • Learning To Draw The F...
Posing The Figure - • Learning to Pose Your ...
Different Body Types - • Learning to Draw Diffe...
Drawing an Action Pose - • Practice Drawing An Ac...
With most types of stylised types of art - There is often a mix of structure and perspective and technical drawing.... combined with symbols and abstract features.
Happy Drawing!

Sooo... This one turned into an epic long tutorial!! :) But I think it's important to see these processes in real time. This is break neck speed from the perspective of getting an illustration like this done from start to finish in 4 hours. So one of the main takeaways here should be that even at full professional speed art takes a long time! Lots of mistakes and retracing and messing around with layers... All of this is normal! (For the next big color tutorial like this I will choose something simpler to show how to deal with the same compositional concepts on a smaller scale) Happy Drawing!

This is IT! Please do more of these! I binged all your previous installments in the Art Ritual series. RU-vid should get you on a RU-vid Originals, cause the art world is massive with countless eager artists being born by the second.

Hey Tim, I'm just here to say that I'm very grateful for your videos. No idea why they get so little views. Your stuff is amazing!

Thanks for letting me know!! Yeah views are not great recently! I think I have annoyed the RU-vid gods in some way shape or form 🙂 I'm going to work on improving my overall RU-vid skills very soon next year. I think the last few years have really been focused on just trying to make the videos a bit better... And getting used to speaking on camera. Playing the RU-vid game has never been my focus. 4 hour tutorials are probably not the ideal content on here :) but I'll keep doing them.

I've been watching your videos a lot lately and I noticed that (even though I have a long ways to go) my drawings, especially when it comes to anatomy, have become a lot more consistent and I'm trusting my skills more, and learning to troubleshoot when things don't look right at first. I really really appreciate your videos.

You should sell the comic digitally. Either on your website or on something like gumroad. Would love to read it :D
