Line and Color Quick Start Guide: www.thedrawingcodex.com/quick...
Level up your anatomy and structural drawing!
In this video I draw Chun-Li from Street Fighter. We focus on modifying the position of her body and legs while drawing. This helps us understand how to change and tweak the pose to get exactly the right action and feeling.
This Demo is designed to show how to study and breakdown figures from your imagination.
A big part of the art journey is figuring out how you apply these concepts into your own work and style!
If you want to learn about the techniques I am using based on the Loomis Method you can check out these videos:

With most types of stylised types of art - There is often a mix of structure and perspective and technical drawing.... combined with symbols and abstract features.
Happy Drawing!

There are a few artists like you on yt who put up full time videos at the expense of getting less views People who actually care about passing on the knowledge, absolute legend

I have been studying art for two years now and have just ran into your videos. You're videos are fantastic and fill a gap that other tutorials and artists do not cover. The way you slowly work through common issues and explain broad abstract topics in a calm and easy manor is unmatched. You have helped me progress and get over a difficult hurdle so I wanted to say thank you. I hope you keep creating content like this. The relaxed and calm nature of your videos are perfect to just have on and chill out too.

Saving this for later, but I love videos like this. Educational videos to give examples to artists on how to solve things that they are struggling with

I'm not gonna lie, you don't wanna kick like this, you'll just fall instantly. The closest arm should counterbalance the kick, not to mention the back leg should be really steady, if you want to perform a series and not a single kick. Great tips throughout the video though! I don't want to be too negative, I just spent enough time doing martial arts to notice such things xD Love your content!

Not gonna lie. I don't care at all if you don't want to kick like this and that you'll fall.

Haha, right on! It's important to not take movement advice from an artist! (I think I had a video talking about gesture drawing where I make that point in more detail). I need to pay more attention to how these things work in the real world. Thanks for pointing this out, it reminds me I need to keep working on stuff like that. Might be a cool topic for a video one day. Thanks!

Awesome that's great to hear! I think I found a good way of doing it that doesn't totally ruin the footage here. I'll try remember to add it to these stages in the future!

Hey Tim, I’d just like to let you know that if you find that your latest videos have been low on views that’s not because of the content not being good. It’s a very important topic, but I’m sure that the emd of the year is taking it’s toll on people - it is on me, for sure - and such an important topic needs our full atention. I’m sure that the views on that will take a surge on the holidays. You could maybe make a new video on the topic of composition when people have some extra time to remind them that they have some backlog on the topic to catch up on. Maybe that could be part of your New Year’s resolutions videos. That’s always a high point of the beginning of the year for me.

Hey Tim! Yeah I want to cover more illustration and compositional stuff for sure. I'm still figuring out my content pipeline and strategy. Next year will be a much bigger push into figuring out how to work my RU-vid strategy while keeping a weekly focus on these longer tutorials too. Thanks for chiming in! It always helps to remind me someone else is thinking about this stuff! Easy to get jaded for sure in the eb and flow of global attention :) But I have a 3, 5 and 10 year plan for all of this... so still early days. Coming up on the second year of weekly RU-vid now... it's been interesting to find my feet and figure out what is going on with the whole system. I need to do a general Q&A video! All of the strategy I advise for learning to draw is the same approach I take to making videos and playing with RU-vid. So you can see it in action to a degree. And yeah I want to put a lot more focus on the ritual and art new years resolution side of things. I kind of missed it last year. Thanks for reminding me! That is probably better content to dig into over the break when people are reflecting and taking their foot off the learn to draw pedal :)

Oh great new upload. Also, I always knew you were the man, Tim! And why? Because you love Chun-Li, and that's the correct opinion ofc.

I keep being shocked by how many artists watch the UFC for this exact reason, glad to know I'm not the crazy one!
