As the one who taught this class. I am a science teacher. What some seemed to miss is that I didn't only teach science. I also taught English and Grade 10 Christian Ethics. This was done in our Grade 10 Christian Ethics class. It had nothing to do with Science.

Brought us to tears ! Wow ! that is the power of student driven teaching !

I believe that teachers should not stop learning and searching for a change. when the teacher changed her point view about teaching, she gives the students a chance to learn better and make a differance.

In all of the classes I took in college were never taught by leading teachers in America except one. He started out his career as a janitor. The second person who encouraged me had been a high school dropout. The third person had founded one of the top schools in the world. It was because of those people that I developed what became the top program in CA in what I taught.

The remarkable information you provide to your viewers needs to be applauded. I sincerely appreciate your effort to expand your viewers knowledge. A sincere thank you!

I think the prime step to achieve success and progress of our students ,is to trust on their abilities and exceed our expectations of their well and determination ,they will always do it .

Wow, what an amazing talk. I'm from Cape Town, South Africa. My school is in many respects curriculum based, this is because in my country there are many teachers that aren't very qualified. But I've found that the teachers make the biggest difference.

This is excellent video about a learner-centered classroom that went onto to do great things. Changing the world.

I liked the story. It is similar to my own experience of my diploma (TEPD) in QRTA in Jordan. It is really a changing point in my view on teaching. Teaching is now no longer a method of spoon feeding and direct teaching. It is the way how students construct their knowledge and allowed to share most of the parts of their learning .However, to be more realistic, it could be hard to ignore the dominant educational system in my country which considers exams the only way of assessing students and jump through grades after which the students sit for a General Certificate of Secondary Education Exam-Tawjihi. It is worth contemplating a phrase from the video describing the students “we are not the future, we are now” ,and I agree with the idea that students are often able to exceed our expectations of them if we only give them a chance. The role of a teacher should be to trigger the lesson and facilitate the students’ active learning by allowing them to discuss and explore knowledge by themselves. The inspiring part is how children can design a school inside their school. I can apply this suggestion to engage my students in designing my lessons. I can ask them to create their own design of the lesson and suggest the supporting materials.

What an amazing teacher and a group of amazing kids! It shows also that sometimes with exposition something which seems impossible to happen can actually do if it has a good cause, globalisation can bring about even bigger exposition with huge results.

When I atteneded QRTA sessoins, I started to draw in my mind the frame of my future classroom where my students can share to learn. Teacher guides the students to the creation and gives them the space to creat.

I would like to see a planned curriculum for 180 days of chemistry instruction with the ultimate goal to prepare students for college success in chemistry. I completely agree that PBL is the way to teach, but we are required to teach for college articulation. So, how do we do that?

I think that that the teachers need to attend pre-service training programs for the purpose of being ready for teaching. They also have to be followed by a professional teachers until they become a professional ones . Today ,teachers' role is to make a creative, independent, and life-long learners.

You know, I really love it... but what CCS does that use? We are now given framework booklets and are forced to teach certain material and types of test questions in a certain amount of time. The kids have to pass their 15 standardized tests to prove that you had been teaching those particular things from your subject. If I put this into my lesson plan, like an awesome goal to help people, my principal would say, "and how is this helping them pass the iLEAP test so that our school isn't a D school anymore?"

Yes indeed, it changes the dynamics for teacher and students alike once you start asking questions and listening to he answers doesn't it. I wonder if some teachers don't try this for fear of losing control. However it sounds like you all learned a great deal from the experiment.

Great Idea and I loved the approach and speech, but I can just feel how nervous (stage fright) you were. It's hard to be comfortable with that many eyes on you, and that's why Joel Oesteen makes the big bucks.

This is REALLY good - I use it to introduce the idea of student-centered learning to my university students.

What about the school curriculum goals? giving charity is really great, but it had to be with providing knowledge, now isn't? so, which science principles have they learned from this welcome move? I think we should be more aware to engaging students and believing in them, but it has to be with an axis of knowledge (not information).

Only works for certain subjects, certain topics and during certain times. Will never work in a calculus class.

Sounds like a motivational class rather than a science class to me.

This is an success story of how to beg for money. How successful were they at learning the skills needed to earn a living and be productive citizens and not a burden on the rest of society?.

Lots of great learning here - but what about the content they were supposed to be learning. If I were a chemistry teacher and my students wanted to study chemistry in college, helping the suffering in the world is great, but it won't help them acquire the skills and knowledge they need to be the chemists of the future.

I strongly disagree with the Shelly Wright that the quite kid doesn't interact cause it's very relatable to me I don't speak in class cause I think I have to learn what teachers are teaching and also I have a slow mind so I need time for processing that information and I have lot's of friends I do the wildest things in life and interacted with lot's of people.
