Great video! Can you tell me your settings on the TDI? A video tutorial about the settings on the TDI and what it does with your expierince would be very cool guys.
ok good idea.. i thought it would be a bit confusing to people, but there is a simple way.. I use it with Ground balance off and switch it on to determine what is under the ground because the ground balance switches on the discriminator circuit, but when it is off it will pick up a gold ring at depth.. 14 in...plus, but it wont quite discriminate at this depth
. Congratulations on the video 📽🎥 wish you all the luck in the world and success in everything you do because the certainty of Victory is to risk and settle congratulations friend SUCCESS always 👏🏼🤝🏼 . Leaving that GIGA👍🏼🇧🇷
Mr. Barnes, I love your Vids and have been a fan for a while now. Please make a part two where you explain how you setup the tdi for beach and also gold field hunting. Also I'm wondering how the TDI stands up to the salt air environment. Thanks much Frederick, you make some very enjoyable Video's
Thanks Tod.. I will do that later. The Tdi is completely unaffected by salt or mineralisation, however it will temporarily moan a bit in heavy areas. If it had automatic tracking instead of manual ground balance there would be no equal. The unit is not waterproof however,- so if any salt water gets inside,- it will die
Hey how you guys doing? I just bought a TDI SL can you guys tell me what are good settings for the beach and if it really is less powerful than the pro and also there's a new TDI Beach Hunter in case you didn't know I read it was between the SL and the pro in power please confirm this thank you cheers from California!
i use home made pulse detectors nearly all the time but this year not much gold but lots of bottle caps everywhere......a lot of the beaches where i live have been so well done as there are lots of detectorists with minelabs.
Vlf detectors can discriminate some bottle tops so i tend to not detect in these areas with my TDI. having said that there was one spot where there was many rings under the rubbish and proved worth clearing out the rubbish first.
Thanks for the nice video as usual, whats your thought on Garrett ATX? You never talks about this powerfull PI machine which is not as deep as TDI but its waterproof , cheers
I have never used one, but i have a lot of respect for Garrett Detectors and their innovations are ground breaking. Here on the Goldfields even the Minelabs gpx's are pushed to the limits.
Do you use the White's to nugget hunt ever? I just added a TDI SL special edition to my collection. When it finds me something I'll run back out with my GPX 4000 a couple different coils .I love my 4000 but sometimes it's nice not to have to throw on the battery harness and all the extra wires with the TDI 😁
I found the TDI works very well for general treasure hunting, and covering ground fast and deep, but nothing beats the Minelab GP for gold prospecting performance
do you find the OZ coil better than the dual field coil ??? i once made a dual field coil and found it better than mono coil...i guess the OZ coil is deeper than dual field type....whats your view on this ???????
Sorry to be so off topic but does any of you know of a method to get back into an instagram account?? I was dumb forgot my login password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me.
@Terrell Isaias Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and Im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Yes because the gold items are usually very deep and and scarce,- so i need fast, and very deep coverage.Often i can tell if it is a ring or not by the size and shape of the item. gb is good for discrim in trashy areas and where the ground is extremely dificult
I use it with Ground balance off (max power)and switch the gb on to hear the low or high tone.Rings nearly always have a high tone.. but so do pull tabs.. so try to stay away from heaps of rubbish. It will pick a ring out at 15 inches no problem.
I am going to say yes and no. I have used the discrimination circuit to pick out silver rings and coins from very trashy areas, but i still get fooled by the odd bottle top. So now i mainly use it where there are few bottle tops because i have learned the gold rings stand out.

Hi.. Don't know how powerful the sl is. I use the tdi without the GEB ground balance because i like to keep it simple. In this mode i typically get 14 inches on a gold ring. After a while you can get an idea of what the target is by switching to GEB and hearing the high or low tone. But the size and shape of the target can often give a more accurate target id.
