This is one of the best radios on the market right now. It is spectrally clean on a spectrum analyzer right out of the box even if you do the 1K resistor mod.

Your gonna love it. Really like mine. It has all the features and toys stock that no other radio has. Of course, I had mine "expanded". Great little rig

I'm new to cb radio and I managed to reach someone in Atlanta from middle Tennessee with a cheap walmart antenna on a tripod with some aluminum foil and a realistic t-48 radio. I feel accomplished but I don't know if I should lol.

Happy Birthday ! What a great wife you have ! I've had that radio for not quite a year. I have it set up as a mobile in my semi. I experienced quite a learning curve in the beginning remembering which selectors to use switching frequencies. Works great local and dx. Stock mike works well with many good reports. I got one of the President antennas ti go with it, and swr was completely flat. The Lincoln Ii+ and a Stryker 955 are currently my 2 favorite mobile radios. I killing a lot of time at a truckstop this Memorial Day Weekend, and planning on my first computer connections to those radios to check those modes and adjustments . Glad to hear you are headed back to the ham fold. You got me to pull out my old midland SSB from the 70s and finding almost no one on and the few who were I wasn’t interested in talking to it led me to get my ham license and I’m loving it. Was torn between the Lincoln and the Anytone AT-6666. I got the Anytone and have been working 10 meters from the truck, the thing rocks. The auto squelch is the best I've seen as it only breaks for intelligible signals.

My dad had a Pace 144 in his VW Bus. I'll bet he still has it some where, he never throws anything out. Then he got a Pace 123A.

I love my Lincoln 2+ I had mine converted to 11 meter and love it I have made contacts in London, Germany ,Canada,mexico for antenna maco 5/8 it has good reviews

This is the *ultimate* Ten meter radio! I love how you can change frequencies with the push knob, the only problem is the echo does not sound quite right....and of course you can add the "A" band channels. (wink wink)

BTW, this radio has been though like 4 different versions to get all the bugs worked out! AND HAS THE MOST QUIET RECIVE, the receive is AMAZING.

Recently bought that rig but haven't set it up yet... bought several different antennas to try to mount on my aluminum F250. Looking forward to your videos.

I bought the President Lincoln ll+ a couple years ago and have had good DX luck with it on 10 and 11 meters. It's mounted in my truck with a Stryker sr a-10 antenna with 2 whips, one cut for 10 meters. Talked to Chile on 10 and Kentucky on 11. Good luck with it. 73. K2RSF

I have one too. I do like it. Very clean both TX & RX. Not much for output power but nothing a external amp cant fix. Overall it's a great radio. Good video too. #12 Watkins Glen, New York wavin🇺🇸

My first HAM radio. Quite powerful - can do real DX. I got one contact Europe-US on 11 meter with this radio - frequently did up to 1000 mile contacts when the skip is worling.. It is somehow more genuine than using the ICOM7300.... which is maybe too easy.

That radio is a fancy Uniden hr 2970. It has the same internal processing board. I have always liked those radio's. I am glad that Uniden is bringing back a couple of the old radio names from some of the old companies that they have purchased over the years. Eric talk to Mower Junkie's xyl and ask her for your charlie alpha numbers and join the club. I have had mine since Barbara started the club when John had his small engine repair shop up North here in Plymouth, MA. CA 444. Still have the old tee shirt that Barbra made up.

Have one, had the 11 meter mod done, also brought the President Texas antenna which extended the radio warranty. Haven’t hooked it up yet but it got real good reviews. Eyeballing a Yaesu 991A to put in the base. Need to have it be able to move between locations. Suppose to put out 40 watts

I think it is the best bang for the buck. I just bought a new one for $230. I'm on the north east coast of SC.

Oh very nice. I recently got back into CB after about 25 years sparingly. And I too have a President McKinley in my truck. Nice little radio although I'm not as fond of the multifunction buttons as I thought I would be. It's a barefoot radio of course and it pushes about 2 Watts. Thought about having it tuned but still not sure. I would like to have a radio to do the wattage it says that it is supposed to do. I've been studying when I have the time to get my technician license. And of course plan to continue with the other two and possibly beyond. This looks like a nice radio. I also have two of the handheld gmrs kg805g. And a handheld kg uv9dmate. This mobile looks like an awesome addition.

I wanted a radio with an RF Power knob. I ordered a Lincoln II on Amazon for $225. Turns out it was the II+ which I didn't want because the conversion process is more involved than with the Lincoln II, (which is just simply cutting a jumper wire). My eyesight sucks, so working with small parts isn't the easiest thing for me. Plus I don't have any soldering equipment and didn't want to buy any for a one time use. So I ended up going for the McKinley.

that a great radio .24 through 30 mhzs when unlocked. big seller in Europe. it should do 45 watts. it will display EU, UK, US or open . used for ham and CB in Europe. Your RCI 2970 N2 can be unlocked also.

I have that same exact radio. And let me tell you if you hook up a Heil microphone XLR version with a 8 band graphic equalizer with voice compressor in line you won't believe the audio you will get out of that radio. The 8 Band graphic equalizer I have inline with it is called (The UR6QW 8 Band Equalizer-Compressor-Echo Processor. With the Heil HM 12...

The Antron should be closely tuned to 10m but not perfect (incidentally perfectly misspelled on your title page). I think you need a General class to do 10 and 12m (unless you're doing data with restricted power on 10), but you can still listen.

Eric did you ever get your ham license? I’ve been licensed a year and love it. You got me somewhat started in CB before I got licensed too

I am not sure what amateur element level you were at before you let go of your ham license but by taking the tech exam you will be at that level you were unless it is lower than the tech.

I’m sure you know this already but they’re easily made to do 11meter. If I can do it you shouldn’t have trouble.

I thought you had a ham license ticket. Or maybe tech? Easy to upgrade to General now that code requirement is history.

🤔 that radio can be easily accessible to 11m.. Just saying.. just needs a single 1k Ohm Resistor placed on the board

@Farpoint Farms that radio needs a half watt 1kohm resistor in the right spot for CB frequency and audio limiter remove and it will do 45 plus watts. Also the clarifyer doesn't work use the channel selector push it in until sixth digit on frequency has dash under it and adjust it that way. Out of the box it will do about 30ish watts

The Lincoln is not in the same league as the McKinley the Lincoln receiver is so un natural sounding. why not do a side by side comparison thanks for the videos
