This film is from the LBJ Library moving picture collection created by the White House Naval Photographic Unit, aka the Navy Films. The films consist of monthly reports on the activities of President and Mrs. Johnson from 1963-1969.

you can tell lbj was very tired and stressed during his speech and was done being president i think if jfk had been still alive we wouldn't have been in the mess we were in in vietnam but jbl did his best being president is a tough job i wouldn't want that job because i would never get sleep because knowing that people here at home and around the world are suffering

Sad to think that JFK should have been President in this film (october 1968). One of the big what ifs in history.

+Fer Abra The pig that was president in 1968 was one of the few people that orchestrated the murder on kennedy.

At least the 1964 civil rights act was passed because he became president

The story behind the October 31 speech is very unusual. LBJ actually recorded the speech the day before, October 30. It's puzzling why he didn't address the nation live.

Centralized power structures are inherently weak. Nothing can change that, not even good intentions...and those are sketchy at best.
