so if I understand a bit of deleuze, everything that we know is distinguished by the difference, and it is because of this difference that we 'know' different things and recognize them as separate things. but in fact it's all illusion, according to parmenides (and maybe deleuze too, not sure), and then once again we're essentially back to eastern thought. so cosmo inquiry does seem impossible, inside our delimited and biased sensory and biological selves, but we can build some powerful models to gather an idea/concept of it ... or so we think
i also think about the effect of parmenides on heidegger ... the poem was a bit lost on me, but i'm kinda tired too ... actually the basic idea of what exists we can think and maybe what we think can exist is pretty mind blowing, even today. the power of thought, what does it mean?, in the sense of if we can imagine something, can't it be real? ... or why are we able to imagine it ... and if it can't be real, my gosh, isn't the mind an explosive and powerful thing to conceive things that are not and cannot be !!
