My favorite precut is a fat quarter but, I need ideas for jelly rolls. I have made so many that look like they were made from jelly rolls. It would be nice to have patterns that don’t look like strips
This would be a great pattern for a two color quilt. A Christmas quilt in this pattern would also be lovely. Thank you FQS for bringing us so much inspiration :)
I also love layer cakes. Maybe next could you do a dessert roll? I just bought one, it’s a 5” fabric roll like a larger jelly roll. It’s the first time I’ve seen one. Thanks for the cute pattern, can’t wait to try this one.😊
This is a great short-cut quilt. I love the design. It would be great if the next short-cut quilt used fat quarters. I always have fat quarters that I need to use. Thanks a bunch. I love this series.
Love this pattern! Thank you for the free pattern. I ordered another layer cake from a Christa Watson line. Hers was the only one who still had the fabric line available. I have 6 layer cakes all different! That’s ok, I plan on using some for jolly bar patterns I have gotten from you all!
I am very impressed with the preparation that was done prior to filming. I like the simple labels to reinforce the order of sewing. The tray off to the right gives examples of necessary tools. It is evident that you enjoy teaching by the clear and simple instructions given. Well done and thank you for sharing your passion for sewing and quilting!! I started sewing at 11 yrs with the gift of a sewing machine from my parents. I continue to sew with the belief that a garment is sewn well enough to be flipped inside out. It doesn’t take any longer to sew well. We learned seam finishes etc without sergers and I do appreciate the advances in sewing techniques over 59 years. It is a joy to see more men and women learning to sew.
I would love to see a pattern using a fat eighth (i know I can cut them down to layer cakes or charms, but would like to utilize more of the fabric) or jelly roll.

I would like to see Junior Layer Cake patterns, like the ones that come in the Sew Sampler, or for leftover layer cake squares. Also charm squares, and Table Runner patterns. I'm thinking of adapting this Layer Cake Lily into a Table Runner with the most recent Folk & Lore Fancy That Design House fabric. I was going to use the Five Stars Table Runner pattern, but I think the Folk & Lore print needs a larger "block" to show the beautiful designs.
When I was this I was drawn to the secondary + that is formed. I think it would be really cool to have the mismatched petals like you did, with a different background in the “corners” to emphasize the + paternity.
To add to my comment I really love quilts that have little points matching and blocks that create a design plus a secondary pattern like this one. It gives the lily plus a cross 😊
I really enjoy all your pre-cut videos. They are great. I would like to see more Fat Quarters tutorials with up to 12 or less fat quarters to complete the pattern. Thank you again!

I’d love to see ideas for mini charm squares. Specifically to stretch the patterned fabric to make something larger than a table topper(or something other than a table topper) with one pack. Tall order, I know. Usually, anything kind of large uses more than 1 pack. Looking for help with those great flash sale impulse buys! 😊
I like it but would definitely add sashing between the blocks. After all - they 'float' but when they are butted up next to each other, the effect is kind of diminished. But beautiful pattern. Thank you so much!
