It is not the first time that three contestants had hit a $1.00 in the wheel and won $1000. I remember that it happened in seasons 45 and 46 and it must had happened during Bob Barker's era because he had hosted the show for 35 seasons.
Drew has always done his own thing. I think the reason is she won 10 grand and it was just a celebration that they all got $1.00 on the wheel. I thought it made it even more special that he embraced the winners and had her stand with the leader even though she got one nickel.
I think the sound team may have gotten it wrong. When her spin reached the 5, they added the "whoop whoop" to the sound, when it was supposed to be only for the $25,000 winner.
