I was 2 yrs old when this aired. I remember my mother watching this show as I grew up, and then in turn, I did, and now lol, my daughter does now 😊

A new Daytime TPIR from NBC other than 1957! Let me know if you have any kinescopes of The Match Game from the 60s.

Unfortunately, I don't. I hope some will turn up somewhere, however unlikely that may be. Two ABC primetime episodes of TPIR from 1964 are on the way, as soon as they finish uploading.

@@chumrain Don Pardo on announcer/narration credit 1956 - 1963. The next generation would only recognise him on Saturday Night Live beginning in 1975.

@@tomservo56954 Thank you. That means the intermediate generation would've heard him just before SNL aired the first time. In my country we never got Jeopardy. We only got SNL on DVD, packaged as one artist/actor's work on the show as a best of e.g. Adam Sandler and Eddie Murphy. We missed out on nearly everything until torrents and RU-vid came along.

Sam Levenson was a well-known comedian in the 50s and 60s. Other guest hosts on the Cullen-era TPIR included Jack Clark, Jack Narz and Arlene Francis.

This a rare treat: Bill Cullen's era. A few years later, Jeopardy!s' own, Johnny Gilbert would not only announce but substitute host at least once

Contestants on the Cullen-era TPIR were well-behaved and well-dressed.

Stay tune for Truth Or Consequences next over most of these stations with Bob Barker who 14 years later would become host of TPIR

Bill had polio in one of his legs and the cameras were careful not to show his noticeable limp. I didn't know this until I attended a live taping of a short lived show Bill hosted called Winning Streak taped at 30 Rock in NYC's NBC studios. Bill was earning $300k a year in 1958 when he hosted TPIR. R.I.P. Bill

Boy, the times they have a changed! Back then it was a woman's dream to own a coat of dead animal fur, today, they're repulsed by it.
