Yes He will destroy every single one of His enemies and all those who curse His Name. And THEN AND ONLY THEN WILL THERE BE PEACE ON EARTH. Hence why He’s called the Prince of Peace because then Peace will reign for ever. Yes.
What a perversion of the word "peace". That's like saying the cure to homelessness or cancer is to "off" all the homeless & poeple with cancer. It doesn't fit the definition or common use of the term "cure".
The divine command theory: "Is an action morally good because God commands it or does God command it because it is morally good?" I found that by simply filling in the "action" of this Theological question, with something specific God commanded rather than leaving it blank I can see that the question of where my sense of morality comes from... doesn't fit in either side of the proposed equation. Is it morally good to take thousands of young virgin girls captive for yourselves after slaughtering their families because God commanded it.... or did God command it because it was morally good? From Scriptures, Jesus came the first time to be a suffering Messiah who brought redemption by His blood. However, when He returns, He will be a King who concurs all who oppose Him. (Those who would not repent & trust in Him for salvation) Matthew 10:34 & Revelation 19:15
Comer leans heavily on John's use of "the world" (kosmos) but like most... Doesn't realize that John & christ used that term to refer to the old covenant order/system... Not earth & not secular humanity in general. Don't believe me? Read every verse they use that Greek term in... & see which fits the context more accurately.
Loving God is equated with obedience. 1 John (whole book), John 14:15, Deut 11:13, etc. This speaks the what I previously commented about, seeing God's love being very conditional. Paul Vs Yahweh Paul:... love is kind, it is not jealous,,... it is not provoked, does not keep an account of a wrong... Yahweh: 1st commandment... I'm a jealous God, coming destruction from the almighty... Behold the day of the lord is coming Cruel with fury and anger,... Their little ones will be dashed to pieces before their eyes, their houses will be plundered and their wives raped. (Isaiah 13) Really? I can't believe I attributed these writings to a creator of the universe .. Who liked the smell of burning flesh & wanted blood spilled by slaughtered animals for him to forgive their trespasses... And not writing of mortals.
