Precisely! She also must not be too happy with the significant move as well! She's in a different part of the east coast that doesnt match her home culture! Florida culture is significantly different from NY culture so she doesnt have an attitude
She clearly stated that she doesn’t care about being late. She is lying about the locker, plus your statement about being loss as school would be insignificant because she doesn’t give a flip about being on time. My guess is that she has domestic problems at home. That is why she is tardy all the time.
I guess it's all much too harsh for someone who said (at 0:43): "I really don't care if I get to class late or not." But you go right on coddling the kids, and they'll go right on not caring. Idiot.
otk 1138 She is in a new environment. The attitude isn't OK. But try to at least understand that the new school Is a new place and she doesn't know anyone there. She misses her old school and friends.
The bad attitude is what I actually would've given her two warnings. Also being to tardy to class she would've been given a warning. Then them a two hour after school detention. Or two lunch detention to make up with the equivalent of 2 hours after detention. When detention didn't work. I would definitely be pulling out the paddle to give her six licks with the paddle. After getting every 6 two hour after school detentions , and every 12 lunch detentions three to six licks with the paddle Also the merit, and demerit point system is highly effective to use. Every 500 demerits a paddling is also given. Rewards are also important to good students.
Ashley Nave never mind the warning, she needs a hundred licks right now, just to send a message...and so do you, I might add, just for being so soft on her...lol.
"I dont deal with lockers I deal with students being late" she says when the student tells her that shes late because her locker gets stuck. So what? If a student has a crippled leg would she say "I dont deal with Crippled students. I deal with students being late"
Principal handled this well, and her attitude too, much better than a lot of staff who just start threatening things and don't get through to the kid. Definitely the kids' fault when they get an attitude, but remember that you're the adult and they're the child there.
@Simeon Washington what the fuck? she is a CHILD in this video. and at the time of your commenting, she would be aswell. ALSO, AGAIN, WHAT THE FUCK? THAT IS DISGUSTING AND SO OBJECTIFYING? WHY DID YOU FEEL THE NEED TO SAY THIS ABOUT A *SOPHOMORE*?
This is why school principals are AMAZING PEOPLE. A typical person, me included, would of been really pissed off at the student not caring and giving an attitude and having a lack of respect. We would of met in my office and the heavy hand would of came down with a laundry list of violations and detentions. However, I am not a Principal or a teacher. Principals are patient and understanding. They are intelligent enough to weigh in the pros and cons of "What would fix the problem" and gave this student a break. Therefore, when this student offends again, and we know she will, then the student feels they let the Principal down and will want to do better. I mean, this is my take on it anyway.
Lemon Bay High School is about 30 minutes away from where I live in the same county. Lemme tell ya, the campus you just seen there is no longer there. Except for the outdoor athletic facilities and the auditorium. The school is way more prettier than what it looked like.
The girl (Jessica) in this video probably is making up the “locker not working” excuse, but it could be the truth. However, if there is a genuine locker problem, she should have shown the principal her locker and how it’s getting stuck, and then see what they can do about it. If she could prove that the locker is a problem, then the principal might be a little more understanding about her tardiness, and maybe get her a different locker. That’s why the statement “I don’t deal with lockers, I deal with students that are late” doesn’t seem very acceptable to me. But you can’t just blindly say that you have locker problems and expect the principal or teacher to believe that at face value. And I also think the principal has the responsibility to take the time to look at the student’s locker to see what the problem is. But she needs to be made aware of the problem first, because she can’t solve a problem if she doesn’t know it exists.
So soon I will be entering the education field and here is the thing that I don't understand about this method,if a student sees that they are running late they will just be absent for the day instead of getting a tardy and detention.
0:10-0:23 0:26-0:28 0:35-0:40 0:47-0:52 0:56-1:03 1:05 -1:07 1:10-1:14 1:22-1:25 is my favorite part of the video I had the same problem as a high school 🏫
My problem is that it's been happening for so long, I mean one time I kept having locker trouble throughout my first day of school, but I cared enough to not be tardy and went to a teacher asking for help. If she really was having trouble with her locker or something related to being a new student, then she had plenty of time to ask for help and explain her situation. She simply doesn't care, and she even admits to that. I'm honestly so surprised you guys are on her side.
It that the principal doesn't care to even consider trying to help. Yeah the girl is probably making excuses to avoid trouble but she could be telling the truth. I had locker trouble when I was in school and it would have been so much easier if I could have just used a key instead the combination lock.
*yawn*school is a bunch of bullshit they teach all this you won't even need in real life instead of teaching you the real shit like how to pay taxes they teach you about science fucking an algebra when you need to learn how to pay taxes for real life I've learned more on the fucking internet than I have in school Y'all: but school is good for you it helps you learn you have bullshit it's just an excuse for your parents to drop you off at a fucking prison for 6 hours a day because they have to go to work
@redsoxfan426 i agree this kelly pickler principal is nice just do your best ,and there will be no problem.when i had trouble with my locker i would go tell the office, and at rensselaer they are so nice.
honestly i would never show up for detention saturday school or lunch detention just ISS so i could sleep day my school work all done with in the first 2 hours back to sleep try and make do something other then my school work lucky they dont get popped upside the head with a chair did that twice at school "Oh Well thats what they get for putting there hands on a student after being warned"
