Today we're taking a look at true storyteller of Five Nights at Freddy's, the Candy Cadet. A space-themed bot who sees all despite his lack of eyes. The many stories he tells give hints on the story hidden to us... doesn't it? Today we're taking a deeper look at him and these stories and will try to uncover what they mean... and if they mean anything at all.
What do I mean? Let me explain...

But the sequels to that book on the other hand shows that Scott isn’t a very good writer or really plans ahead (even with Kira still co-writing the sequels with him). Sure, the robot twist was there from the beginning but it wasn’t well executed and really opens a lot of plot holes. Not to mention now human robot theories are everywhere in the fandom and I’m so tired of seeing them.

If I'm remembering one of the TetraBitGaming Ruin Cut Content videos right, Candy Cadet's story originally would have said the woods were full of dangerous animals, and in an earlier version of the map you would have to pass by the original fnaf 1 gang after Candy Cadet's room. What does this add to the conversation... nothing. Just a fun fact
@weebjeez
@weebjeez 2 месяца назад
Actually... that DOES add somethign to the conversation: specifically, it adds that the story being told by Candy Cadet might actually be about Ruin's protag. Similarly, in Pizzaria Simulator you get a story that could be referring to Henry's plan to burn all the animatronics (unknowingly binding their remnant all together into a single form). Perhaps what we should be taking from this is that Candy Cadet is predicting the future by examining stories it knows?
@tonysonic456
@tonysonic456 2 месяца назад
Candy Cadet is representative of FNAF as a whole. A vague mess of ideas that has potential to be a good story but refuses to give any concrete answers, and as a result, we're only left with fan theories that vary so wildly from each other that I wouldn't blame anyone for saying that FNAF doesn't have a story. There's an ancient rule in storytelling call "Show, Don't Tell" that dictates that it's better to show what's going on in your story so the audience can be properly hooked, and doing the opposite, "Tell, Don't Show", isn't going to be nearly as effective since the audience likely won't feel the impact of anything that happens. Candy Cadet however, and by extension FNAF as a whole, take that a few steps backward by opting for a new rule. "Imply, Never Tell". You can't say anything in FNAF is absolute. You can only hint at it otherwise people will get upset. Well, I'd argue that people are already upset by that rule by now. Bendy proved this by opting for that same rule in Ink Machine, and players weren't exactly thrilled. Then Dark Revival came out and went with the "Show, Don't Tell" rule, and everyone was much happier. TLDR; I'm tired of the vagueness of FNAF. I don't want inklings of what could be a story for others to finish writing because Scott is either lazy or too scared to upset anyone. I want a REAL story that means something.
@_Berserk_984
@_Berserk_984 2 месяца назад
Yeah, the vagueness has really only damaged the franchise. The lore hints are so unclear and open to interpretation that we can't even concretely establish many important events.It's like someone threw a 100 somewhat related loose ends and expected us to tie it up for them. Like you said the games follow the, "Tell, Don't show" policy. And even when it tells, it's never clear about it. It just gets frustrating after some time. Honestly, I would love prequel games of FNAF that go back cover individual stories of fan-favorite characters in detail. That they SHOW the horrific things these characters and people around have gone through.

The issue was only further agrovated when all of the methods to make what little is shown questionable became fixtures. So even the little we did see now can easily just not be real.
@aliengirlnearyou
@aliengirlnearyou 2 месяца назад
I wish that for the 10th anniversary this year they just gave us a short game that definitely clears up the first four games or the core events like the MCI and CC incident. I'm also tired of relying on the books for lore that's not even consistent, it should be available in the games. I have a hard time believing that Into The Pit is going to clear up certain events and the names associated with them. I know Scott didn't expect FNAF to become such a sensation so maybe he didn't really think too much about the lore, but it's been 10 years and we got a crazy amount of games and books, there's no way they don't have a timeline of events figured out, we need SOME answers. I still don't know what Toy Chica missing her beak means and that was one of if not the first direct hint we got that then led to the Dream Theory, but now with all the sci-fi stuff and the scary gas thing they put in nothing makes sense, they over complicated it for the sake of building up mystery while we still don't have a timeline or confirmed names.
@JunkieSama
@JunkieSama 2 месяца назад
My thoughts EXACTLY 👏 !! While I do enjoy theorizing and types of analysis content like this video, FNAF absolutely suffers from a lack of concrete details. I feel like Scott had the right idea intially, but he, and now Steel Wool, seem to either be too afraid to reveal truths about the series, OR (and I feel this is HIGHLY likely) are keeping the status quo because they know that theorizing is a huge part of the appeal to FNAF, and therefore is what will make them the most money. That's how they get away with releasing unfinished games like Security Breach 😑 .

I've been a major supporter of the idea that Henry is much guiltier than the paragon he gets depicted as. He talks about Afton's crimes as if they were something he *allowed to happen.* I like to think that the three stories are, in some way, explanations of just how the murders affected him. The idea that he knew Afton would do it, and that he let him. The idea that Afton had broken in and taken the lives of those he tried to protect. The idea that his efforts to save them only ensured their deaths. Why were they killed at Freddy's? Of course, the security puppet would never let them be taken elsewhere. He had, effectively, locked them in that building with a man who he knew was dangerous. Why did he have the Afton Schematics. How did he get them. *That isn't something you just stumble across, why does he know how they work.*

Honestly, I’ve always nursed a bit of a grudge against Candy Cadet simply for being yet another non-commital way of delivering us information in a sea of others. I get it, that vaugeness is part of the fun, but there’s a point where there’s too much non-commital information in this franchise. At some point we need something, anything we can hold onto. It’s like we’re building a card tower with a mix of yu-gi-oh, playing, and tarot cards not wanting to fit together really, and we’re not even sure if these are actually playing cards or maybe lego bricks. Imagine if, instead of candy cadet to deliver this information, we got the Player/michael’s notebook, and each night we’d be able to read more entries. Sure, it’s still technically not firm, due to an unreliable narrator, but it’s a far more clear and reliable source than the confusing ramblings of a glorified gumball machine. Not to mention it would give some characterization to a character (Michael or the Player) that desperately needs it. I dunno about you, but that feels like a much more clean and fitting way to deliver the information.

Same. I also hate that he's the main evidence for the Missing Children = Molten Freddy theory, because of the existence of the scrapped Animatronic 01 and just...wanting the Funtimes to be their own thing. I don't think the theory actually holds up, but it's so prevalent because otherwise, you have to acknowledge that the Missing Children are repeatedly brought-up, but don't exist in Pizz Sim.
@damkylan3
@damkylan3 2 месяца назад
@@diarawisteria2218 He isn't the main evidence for that. Henry's speech in the Insanity Ending is the main evidence for it, since he is obviously referring to "Follow Me" when he says William "led them there AGAIN" and "overpowered them AGAIN", and then at the end of it, he says he needs to "call them all back, together in one place". He does not pivot from talking about the MCI before saying it. And where could they be? Molten Freddy, the one described as having the most remnant out of everyone present. "Fascinating... what they have become". Oh, and there's also Fourth Closet, coming out after FFPS and showing William literally extracting remnant from a melted amalgamation of the Classics' endoskeletons and then injecting it into Funtime Freddy and giving it life for the first time. He also says repeatedly that they now serve a "greater purpose", an important turn of phrase considering Henry says in FFPS that the MCI are "now set to *new purpose* and used in ways I never thought imaginable." Oh, and Help Wanted shows the endos of the Classics burning in a furnace. Candy Cadet may as well not even be a factor. The virgin Candy Cadet vs. the chad FFPS/Fourth Closet/Help Wanted triple whammy. lol

Tbh for the Ruin story, it could be about mental growth, rather than physical growth from aging. Like, considering that at the end of SB Vanessa escapes Glitchtrap's control, that'd mean there's a pretty huge mental growth on her part between that and HW/Ruin, even in that short of a timespan. But yeah, I think in times like these, we must remember Mr. Hippo's wise words, sometimes a story is just a story. I mean, it does seem to apply perfectly in that context. The kitten story to me matched how our boy william had this snake within him (his desire to murder and experiment) that he couldn’t get rid of, at random one of his children got murked by his snake, which was manifested in his animatronics, it wasn’t literally left open but it was in some senses an eventuality that his machines would murder his children as he warned them but never truly put the snake away to stop this from happening in essence allowing it to happen. In his guilt he put her back together in baby.

Like the Mediocre Melodies, Candy Cadet has definitely earned his place in the fandom as both Meme Fuel and a source of Lore (through implications) but I'm kinda over his cryptic with a twinge of EdgeLord characterization. Although, I was also annoyed when he was used as an Exposition spewer in Ruin and HW2 so maybe I'm just never satisfied, LMAO. That being said, The Woman and The Keys story is one of my favorite things from the franchise and I won't take its impact away from him and I like the Letting Go interpretation you shared with us. I still think it's about Charlie and her naivety blended with determination to Save Them led to more harm being done (but she learned! She grew up in the Afterlife like she didn't get to and learned, at least according to Sire Squawks!) but new ideas and Theories are always welcome. The Ruin and HW2 stories could have another meaning if you take out the genders; someone being lured into letting a monster out of the basement? Cassie being lured down by the mimic. Someone returning to slay someone who tried to slay them, being tricked into walking right back into their clutches? Could be the HW2 protag, whether you believe it to be Cassie's dad, previous programmer Jeremy, or some other near-victim of something related to Fazbear Entertainment (especially considering the files suggesting that we were supposed to be following voice logs from Vanessa throughout the game). I also heard someone theorize that the Pizza Sim stories are all meant to imply that the five missing children souls are all in Molten Freddy, basically hammering it in that 5 Became 1. Though it does seem a bit weird that you would need three stories to make the same point.

Molten MCI also doesn't make sense chronologically. Because, WHEN William would have made them into the Funtimes ? He destroyed the FNAF 1 Gang. The Toys aren't there and the OG are on stage so it has to be FNAF 1 restaurant. So for the theory to be true, he must have made them into the Funtimes around FNAF 1... But Michael would had already been scooped by now since he was already fired for his "odor" back in FNAF 2. So William couldn't made them into the Funtimes since they already escaped years before.
@SpikyEaredPichu96
@SpikyEaredPichu96 2 месяца назад
@@ultimate-phenix I think I always assumed that the bad odor in fnaf1 came from tampering with the animatronics filled with decaying corpses? If not just entirely made up to try and fire Mike legitimately. And as with many things in the series, there's no way to know if the closed Freddy's location that the hand unit mentioned is the Security Puppet Freddy's or the Fnaf1 Freddy's. Also, the theory I heard regarding Molten MCI uses Henry's log from the Insanity ending of Pizza Sim as a way to describe what happened: Afton using "his old tricks" to lure the animatronics off their stage (potentially what the purple Freddy is meant to represent, which makes more sense to me personally than Shadow Freddy luring the animatronics to their doom) so he can dismantle them as close to the hidden room as possible, taking their remnant (in other words, the souls of the MCI kids) and "setting them to new purpose" by using them to power the funtimes. There's no indication that the fnaf 3 mini games all happen in one night, after all, he could've been going back over the course of weeks. Not to mention the more recently found endos in the furnace in Help Wanted alluding to Molten MCI, too. "Are they (the kids?) still aware? I hope not." It's not a perfect explanation, it doesn't explain why the spirits were able to scare Afton into the springlock suit if they were stuck inside the funtimes, but if nothing else I could see that being what Scott was trying to imply at the time of Pizza Sim. And theories don't have to be perfect, y'know? The way the storytelling of this series goes, we're probably never going to know the one definitive answer, so why not just have fun with it?

@@ultimate-phenix I also like NimoClancey's way of viewing it where 1-3 and 4-Pizza Sim are their own separate trilogies, which I'm sure isn't what Scott intended at all, but it alleviates some of the pressure of trying to tie absolutely everything into one another. 😅
@ultimate-phenix
@ultimate-phenix 2 месяца назад
@@SpikyEaredPichu96 I still think it doesn't work, not only because of the spirits presence but also because of the Security Logbook. If you don't know, it was released just before FFPS (NotRealName talked about it in her Logbook Chica video) and it's the origin of some of the most accepted theories like Golden Duo, the name of "Cassidy" for the Golden Freddy Spirit or just the idea that Mike Schmidt IS Michael Afton. Well, in this logbook, Mike canonically is responding to a survey made by Faz Ent in order to work for them. He used his nickname "Mike" so we can assume it was around FNAF 1. And he already did some reference to SL like the fact he would prefer money AND ABSOLUTELY NOT Exotic butter. So FNAF 1 Mike was already scooped and even if William destroying the bots can happen between nights... The fact is that we see their remains on the floor every time so no one has repaired them. So, since all of them were in working order during FNAF 1, William could only have destroyed them AFTER Mike's shift; But... In the end... I think you're right. Theories doesn't have to be "perfect". And Scott isn't the best writer so it's possible he really wanted to tell us Molten MCI was canon and just never thought of the inconsistencies on the timeline. He did write the games as it goes and never had a clear plan after all... It's just that I saw so many people being almost dogmatic about Molten MCI that I overreact when the conversation is about it. But yeah, as long as everyone understands that 70% of the "canon" is just the fanon that shouts the loudest, yeah, let's just go with our own interpretation and have fun. I may have been to adamant and I'm sorry about it.

I think it's possible that Candy Cadet was made by Fazbear Entertainment to cover up the events of the past by telling stories that are 1:1 opposite versions of the events that actually did happen. For example, in the keys story, instead of it being a women, it's a young child (since the spirits are children, not adults), and the key, or "piece," are split into five, five "pieces." This ends up saving five children, at the expense of one, the Crying Child. When read like this, it seems to be a variation of ShatterVictim. I figured this'd make more sense. As for the HW2 story, it seems to be about Glitchtrap, who was lured Vanny and trapped by the one they're working for. Glitchtrap was said to have only a fraction of their code remaining, so, instead of being a young girl who aged, they'd be a fully grown entity that was stripped down into a small piece. They young boy would be a grown woman, Vanny, who leads Glitchtrap into a trap, as we see in HW2's ending, with the old witch being a young boy, most likely being TOYSNHK, or whoever the Nightmarionne imagery belongs to, who Vanny works for. That's just a barely in-depth example of two of the stories, I figured it'd be a pretty interesting angle to look at.

i dont think Candy Cadet is meant to be taken too literally. I think we're only supposed to take the general idea from it. the Pizza Sim stories are 5 things becoming 1 thing. i think it's referring Molten Freddy. Who is the present day version of the original 5 kids being killed... or at least what's left of them in the present day (present as of Pizza Sim) as the other remnants of the 5 children have since passed on. Molten Freddy being all that's left. The ruin story is about being tricked by a familiar voice. foreshadowing that Gregory... wasn't Gregory. And the Help Wanted 2 story, if generalized, is simply someone who was fooled once, is fooled again with a different tactic. which i think is probably a reference to the fact that help wanted 2 ends with the player character being taken by the AR world... just like what happened to Vanessa in help wanted 1. i think that story is a bit more meta in the fact that we have the potential to do the same mistake we did in the first game with the 2nd game. which of course is doomed to happen anyway cus ruin proves the bad ending is the true ending. i think that's what Candy Cedet's HW2 story is all about. as for the last story... i have no idea XD honestly that one showed up out of left field... but to generalize it... a group of people missing out on something and died because of it... who knows... maybe it's another meta jab at the community XD

7:10 One thing to note is that the snake is only said to eat one kitten, with no repetition of the action claimed or implied, only that time passed. Plus, the boy is only said to put THE kitten together, being the single one that was eaten.

If anyone remembers Identity V's Melodas Estate Investigation/Stormy Night Surprise event, you'll remember that the characters told stories. I feel like the Candy Cadet stories are like that. They vaguely parallel each of the characters with a fantasy story, but remember: the monstrous bird was the woman telling the story about the girl that got ate by the bird. That's how I take these stories. Especially the Ruin and HW2 stories. Cassie is probably the basement monster, and Vanessa is 100% the witch (we even see the 'witch' get her meal in the PQ4 ending, with Vanny crushing glitchtrap). Also, the kittens might not be kids, but security guards. It's about Henry letting William keep hiring night gaurds, despite knowing that they will die. He lets William hire a guard, the guard dies. Though this may also be about Michael and the Fazbear's Frights guard, as the story of the woman with the keys is an oddly prophetic parallel to Henry burning everything at the end of FNAF 6. But the keys story may likely be about Micheal burning down Fazbear's Frights horror attraction, believing it to be the way to free the kids, only resulting in that not being the means to their freedom and the kids being stuck or free being based on the minigames, not the fire. The story about the man adopting fivr kids is more likely about Charlotte. She kept the dead kids safe after the location closed, but William broke in and destroyed the animatronics. Charlotte probably made molten Freddy or the amalgam.

The second story could be about William as the boy, and a metaphor for his research/curiosity/urge to kill. William doesn't want to give up that curiosity, because the secrets it might crack open could be amazing, but he can't bring himself to choose a victim. Ultimately, he just *goes* for it and kills whatever kid he kills. But he feels bad afterwards, and either tries to put the body back where it died at Freddy's (remember that "nothing was ever proven in court" thing from HW1?), and that just keeps happening until he goes through all five victims.

I suspect the FFPS Candy Cadet is a meta reference to Scott's frustrations over trying to reconcile the fragmented lore up to that point. But in Security Breach and its sequels, CC is there to shed light on the events leading up to the game. So in Ruin is tells how Gregory was lured down to the Mimic when it impersonated Vanessa. HW2's Candy Cadet clears up the confusion about who the protagonist is. It's the same exact protagonist from HW1 lol. Vanessa/Vanny had escaped the oven aka the chamber Glitchtrap locked her soul in, then came back and found herself trapped yet again in the mask.

i do find it interesting that his first three stories involve melting/merging five kids/objects together, then placed in a box. … i really hope i’m looking too deep into it but what if that’s literally what’s in the box? (like originally). william (or henry after finding what william did) took all the kids’ bodies from the animotronics (since they were never found) and he “put [them] back together”, just ALL together. agony or remnant or whatever attached them to the animotronics but their body (yes) is in a box in the woods. this could’ve been foreshadowing ennard and molten freddy and stuff? especially with the first story. william is the burglar that killed five kids. henry found them and put them together best he could and buried them. “later that night there was a knock at the door” could’ve been alluding to the time he was arrested and charged
@TH-dy8tt
@TH-dy8tt Месяц назад
after listening to those three stories on repeat for a long time, i find there’s several themes that overlap: protag knew something bad was going to happen, protag tried to avoid bad thing (or in the case of the second story, turn a blind eye, which isn’t facing the issue before bad thing so it’s on theme), protag gains ‘ownership’ of five entities with a choice of saving one but not all five (in the first story he just assumed the burglar would kill one kid, which is a weird thought process but whatever), all five entities experience a bad thing, protag merged five entities into one, protag makes a very poor or naive decision. not all happen in that exact order but those are the same events in all the three stories. the fact that the order is slightly different in each story depicts a different interpretation for whatever event they’re all telling, if they’re telling the same story like i believe in the last story, the woman merged the five entities together prior to the children in that situation dying. this kinda contradicts the first two stories where the entities died prior to being merged together so the kids died as a result, but this highlights the naive decision of that story. merging five keys to open five different doors would’ve never worked. adopting five kids as a single parent in fear that a burglar would kill one, is a rash and weird decision. knowing you’re not going to get rid of your snake but also adopting five kittens knowing your snake would eat one or more, is also a weird decision. i believe these are all dramatizing the same event, whatever that event may be

Wait, the "kind man" was worried about "someone breaking into "one of their five homes." Candy cadet is warping the story. The kids' adoption was actually five kidnappings. There weren't five orphanages that housed one orphan each. There were five abductions of children who weren't orphans. The "burgler" was probably somebody who came to free the children. And somewhere in the untold part of the story, the kids were killed and put into suits. The kind man interprets the destruction of the machines as his own children being murdered. And he melts the machines together.

The most popular interpretation ive heard of The Kittens and the Snake story is that its an allegory for William and Henrys relationship. The kittens represent children and the snake represents William. Henry loved children but he also loved his friend William. And just like the boy knew that the snake could be dangerous but loved it too much to get rid of it, Henry knew something was off about William but he didn't want to lose his friend. His inaction and willful ignorace led to the death of the children.

So my take on the Help Wanted 2 story, at least for the Vanessa angle, is this. Vanessa likely is an Afton or Afton Parallel. Considering Micheal would have been old father or grandpa age, maybe a cousin or something that shared an abusive household cycle... Tangents aside, Vanessa as a little girl could have been scarred by her father mentally, making her have daddy issues and obey under threat of grave consequences. As she became an adult and got taken over partially by Glitchtrap, which itself was a mimicry of Afton himself (also no doubt an abusive dad), so Vanessa obeyed but still fought control. Gregory, being a small boy into video games, and likely someone who before Security Breach had a family (because how would he become Patient 46 without a parent having a connection with FE?) and probably got his brain more thoroughly hacked by Glitchtrap. Then he helped the Mimic take over Vanessa the rest of the way, and then Gregory somehow got released from control or both have an alter ego. After SB, Vanessa adopts Gregory and the rest is basically history. Also, it could be Cassie's Dad/Bonnie Bro. He may be an old dad but men can have kids when they're basically 80 so it's not impossible. He was probably one of the employees who was killed by Gregory, and was scarred for life from Fredbear's (or even the bite of 87 if anyone goes by that logic). If Bonniebro was a technician he likely was in similar situations as Micheal except with less actual idea of what was happening. Plus with the Fall fest situation, it makes sense that if William wanted to cheap out on fire hazard prevention in the Circus, Bonniebro likely was the laser tag kid along with the other bullies. (while Crying Child would have been the kid on the Ferris Wheel as we read in the survival Logbook.) And (both) attractions, as well as every other thing at Fall fest caught fire. Bonniebro, Micheal, the bullies, Crying Child, and more were likely traumatized by such a massive burndown of Fallfest, with Fredbear's, Freddy's, Circus Baby's, and more all just compiling trauma for everyone around.

I read the second story like this: Henry knew William for a long time, and through that time he realized that deep inside William was a troubled man who had terrible desires. But even still Henry also knew that William had some good in him, he was very smart, he could charm his way out of a bad situation, William was far too good at looking good in public. So as a way to keep William bound to a place, a way to keep him from doing something terrible, Henry opened Fredbear’s with William. He knew very well that William had a voracious appetite when it came to things, from machines to business, William was always after more, bigger and better prospects. Fredbear’s was like a giant cage, a place where William could release his inner machinations without letting his dark impulses take over. Fredbear’s for a time was successful, no doubt in part because of William’s charisma and the many machines he made. But eventually William grew too big for that cage and it was only a matter of time before he tried to get out, then one day an opportunity presented itself, a way for William to free himself both metaphorically and physically. After he killed Charlie, and the Crying Child died, William was no longer allowed at Fredbear’s due to the police investigation. He was free, and that one child wasn’t enough to satisfy his cravings, he needed more, so that’s what he did. Now freed from Fredbear’s and Henry’s watchful eye, William went to Freddy’s and the MCI happened. Maybe it was willful ignorance on Henry’s part, but for whatever reason he felt regret for his choices and tried to make it right in the end, but his definition of making it right wasn’t what was desired by those he was trying to help. In the end it was self servicing, a way for him to relieve himself of the guilt he felt without questioning whether or not he should simply leave things alone. Ultimately his efforts creating a monstrosity that desecrated the graves of those he wronged through inaction. He created a monster in an attempt to bring peace to those who died. I think that by reading into the last bit we can gleam some of the story we didn’t see, for example what tearing the snake open represents in universe would be Henry found all of the broken animatronic parts that William left before he got springlocked and he put them together. IE; maybe Lefty was created using pieces of the old animatronics melted into new shapes, it would also explain why Charlie felt comfortable enough around it to let her guard down and get caught. Or given new lore, it could also mean that those old pieces are stuck in the Tangle/Blob. Granted this is just how I read it given the context of Pizzeria Simulator’s story.

Okay so I haven't listened to the full story but the story that Candy Cadet tells in the basement during Ruin kinda gave me an idea. I agree with the idea that it's Vanny/Mimic/Gregory, that whole shebang, but it also could be read as the Afton family, to me. Ignoring timeline, specific. William was making things in the basement. His children heard them moving. He told them not to worry. His wife sang them a lullaby to sleep (assuming Ballora is based on the wife, it'd make sense if she sang a lullaby, and that's why Ballora has one) and then the creature learns it. Then the rest of the story happens. Again, this is ignoring the timeline and probably key details, but it's just interesting to me, to think about.

After cross-referencing all of his stories, I've noticed a reoccurring quality to them - not every inch of each story is reflective of the events they're alluding to. There are placeholder elements in each one that are essentially red herrings. After cutting out certain elements from each story, each one ends up nigh-perfectly reflecting an event that actually occurred in the canon. So they're stories for people who are already in the know of what they mean - the only people who know what to cut out and interpret in the first place. Or, at least that's the intent. Which means they're probably not stories that provide new information and more stories that make you think; "Wait, why does this random candy dispenser robot know about that?" It's sort of in the same vein as the fruit punch and lemonade clowns occasionally threatening to cut your throat, it's an attempt to unnerve and perplex, as well as to give Candy Cadet his own character as a being who knows things he has no right knowing. The only times he gives information on something that we 'shouldn't' already know is in Ruin when he talks about the Mimic.

The problem with Candy Cadet is that, in a game where lore is hidden EVERYWHERE, I don't like that it's hidden in a robot that tells stories... Is a take? It's one I don't get, but the video was entertaining regardless~! Kinda wanna see more now.

I meant less that it's only hidden in a robot and more that there's story details we should be seeing, and we shouldn't have the only plot details delivered through the robot, you know? And thank you!

Great video! Love the interpretations too! Regarding the story in Ruin, do you think the moment Mimic tricked Gregory with Vanessa's voice was towards the end of SB, when Vanessa says something like "What are you still doing here? The doors are open! ... I think you deserve a reward. Go to the main stage..." I know it's hard to tell since there was so much cut content, but I did always find it strange that Vanessa's tone shifted from annoyed to, coaxing? In that one line. Just a thought...

I honestly like Candy Cadet. He does not tell us anything new or exclusive, he just recycles some pre-existing bits of story in a way to make us think about how it all goes together. It's the coolest thing in the series because it provides us the fun of speculation without the downsides. If only the rest of the storytelling was this nice to us, lmao. Everything else seemingly has to give us a new angle and it completely wrecks everything because some bits just can't logically extend, but it is pushed to.

I love Candy Cadet and his cryptic stories. Probably the best addition to the series. Hope he comes back later to tell us stories for quarters. Stories that may or may not be a summary of what happened in the series or not.

Hmm... What if Vanessa was an attempted victim of Williams, who got away? That would be her escaping the oven, only to come back later as an adult. It's just a small thing. I also have no clue what the time between these ganes is so idk.

Candy Cadet probably has the mimic 01 programming which makes his ruin funnier because he’s basically exposing himself. Also under glitchMXES mimic is trying to stop mimic His greatest enemy is himself

Regarding Gregory “meeting” the mimic I’m sure it happened but it can’t have copied his voice/actions in that time alone, the first thing he says when Cassie enters the room is “I’m Gregory” in the exact same tone that Gregory did to Freddy at the beginning of security breach, so he can’t have copied his character post game with lines he specifically said (in a weird way mind you so we would remember it). Either way we see his bag down there but also a concrete wall as well as faz-wrench spots and we have not seen either Gregory or Vanessa with a faz-wrench but it’s still possible we just can’t confirm HOW the mimic is mimicking Gregory yet.

I do like the idea that Candy Cadet is like he 8-bit minigames. A spirit is able to interact with electronics and reuse parts to tell a story. The 8-bit minigames always felt like hijacked arcade games trying to communicate with the player. I would guess the versions of the games that were released by the "Indie Dev" were probably the main games, without those mini games. If Cassidy, the princess, is the 'video game' spirit, it's possible she has been trying to reach out the the player(s) of those games to tell them the truth, and FNAF World is sort of the culmination of that video game hijacking. The Logbook showing us a similar power being used by the Bite Victim, able to alter the text of the book to interact with the real world. The Bite Victim, whoever was 'attached' to Golden Freddy, etc don't have functional bodies to interact with the world, so they use other ghostly powers to do so, by altering existing things to try to communicate. They are limited in what they can do by the medium through which they are trying to communicate. They can't just make something new, it has to be fashioned out of existing stuff. ------ On the kind man story: If we go with Henry, the home is the restaurant. He felt that kids would be safe there, but he was wrong. The single coffin thing could be describing the actual gameplay of FNAF6. Henry is going to bury all of the children in one place.

LONG ASS COMMENT WARNING: Candy Cadet revels a major problem with Fnaf's story since arguably even fnaf 2s release, but has been getting more and more of a problem since then. It never really gives a direct answer. Think about it, even now, we STILL don't know who did the bite of 87, we STILL don't know the crying child's name, and we STILL don't know what's in the box, and we'll probably never know the definitive answer to any of these questions. All we can really do is try and do Sherlock Holmes level guesswork to try and come up with an answer that MIGHT, keyword MIGHT, be correct. "Oh, well it's PROBABLY mangle", "Well, It MIGHT be Evan", "I mean, MAYBE it's the puppet". We can only really go off with a bunch of maybe's, probably's, and might's. I think the worst has to come from help wanted 2. In the first help wanted, there was "tape girl" who was a basic exposition character to explain the origins of glitchtrap and explains what his deal is while also giving basic story info (I.E how help wanted was a game made to help freddys image, etc) , however, in help wanted 2? No tapes, no explanation, no story info, no dice. A lot of stuff just kind of "happens" in help wanted 2 and your just left their to kind of just "guess" what's even going on. Who where playing as, what the endings mean, what vanny's deal is, not a damn thing. It's a mystery, with no clues to find, or rather, their are a few clues to find, you just need to get the books to find them, and even that is becoming harder to decipher as time goes on. Of course, I'm not saying we need everything spelled out, one of the reasons fnaf got so big was in part due to the mystery of the first game after all, but it just becomes frustrating when if feels like every single plot point has 5-6 cryptic hints that only vaguely gesture towards it, and about 2-3 of them are complete dead ends. Again, it's a mystery, with no clues to find.

CC's name and the Bite of 87 are wholly unimportant. Nothing is lost by leaving those open. The box is not literal, it's a metaphor, emphasis on the "meta". Scott already told us what's inside. The "pieces put together", referring to the pieces of FNAF4's original story we didn't discover at the time. So what are the pieces? The building blocks of Happiest Day, and CC being the one to end it all and free the souls. CC's memories directly tie to FNAF3's minigames, and it is through his memories and actions that Happiest Day happens at all. All hinted at in 4, but revealed in FNAF World. There's also the fact that the older brother is the one having the dreams (most likely originally Michael Schmidt, to tie things back to FNAF1), as hinted at in 4 before it was just revealed to us in the logbook. Though, it's hard to tell what the significance (if any) of these nightmares was originally, before the story changed. Speaking of which, Scott once said the contents of the box changed. Again, it's not a physical thing. It's because SL and FFPS exist, expanding and completely changing the original story, where the room in FNAF4 is now an experiment chamber (doesn't change anything about the events of FNAF4, though, contrary to popular belief), the killer is now William Afton, the brother is Michael Afton, and Happiest Day didn't completely fix the problem. Which is why the digital map layout in FFPS during Henry's final speech looks like a box. It's the end of the original story. All the pieces necessary to end this have finally been brought together. And that's why the box hasn't been brought up since. We're done with it. This is not to say that Scott's not at fault, or that his brand of storytelling isn't a massive headache. lol But I do think this matter is effectively closed at this point. After all, the original box was 100% a product of its time that Scott seems to have regretted doing anyway, according to the interview. It's not gonna solve anything anymore. We could legit just forget it and it won't matter. Scott certainly seems to follow that logic. But as far as its original purpose goes, and keeping in accordance with all the future reveals that came out after the fact, there's pretty much no other explanation than what I have outlined above.

Snake and the kittens, sounds a bit like Henry and William's relationship, like Henry knew his business partner was fucked up, and he was so spineless that he was willing to let William have maybe one or two kids. Little did he know one of them would be his own daughter.
