This is not an attack on the developers they're all great people. This is me simply sharing my opinions on the game trying to make a positive impact on the game and community as a whole.
One of the things I hate about dinosaur simulator is that it isn’t even a dinosaur simulator. It’s a skin collecting/farming simulator. I played DS from 2015/2018 when it was still fun. I’ve played it a handful of times since then and recently tried it out last week after not touching it for years. The menu/ui is insanely outdated and ugly, half the models are blocky and almost a decade old whereas others are nice and only a few months old. The entire game at this point is a clusterfuck. Why call it dinosaur simulator when half the people playing are flying around as super epic star destroyer eater albinomegavore?
Not to mention how hard it is to find food to continue growing as a carnivore when everything and everyone wants you dead themselves, even if you aren’t at a hot spot
@@CRADLEE I don’t really have a problem with kosing in the creature survival game genre, as long as it’s in hotspots/mid. If you’re just going around the entire map and server wiping, that’s a really dogshit thing to do and can really hurt the player base. Nobody benefits from it.
I mean Dino sim has always had very unrealistic skins and that’s what makes it fun tbh. But the game is outdated. The models aren’t really an issue since they’ve been remodeling as many as they recently.

The only problem I hvae now is that most of the skin is now limited . Like I've seen some dinosaurus in the game that just have limited skins plus every new skin that comes out is so expensive. New players aren't able to get the new skins since they are so expensive
Didn't they also remove the ability you had to join older versions? You could literally get all the now-limited skins you wanted, even the galactic ones. I'm pretty sure I'm not tripping and that this was an actual feature, but now that I look at maps, there's only like a trading map and a classic trading map... where did all my easter island, galactics and shit like that islands go?? Where's my VERY old Dino Sim 2015 map we all loved and had great memories with? Back when giganotosaurus' skins were the best?
Here's basically what happened, ChickenEngineer gets bored of DS around 2018, starts trying to make other games, DragonVS, MMS, and the most recent, DA, notice how the games were different up until DA? They were not specifically dinosaur games and they failed extremely fast, he went back to making the one thing he's decent at, which is making a dinosaur game, and that failed aswell because of the stupid team and outlook he has over his games, refuses to hire another scripter to help him manage his games because of trust issues, yet is too busy to do it himself, they do not listen to their regular community and try to appeal to the braindead children audiences , which they fail aswell (especially DA case), they attracted neither the regulars, or the newbies, they claim they want to make it good for everyone yet base the economy on the sweaty players, which contradicts their statements, this is especially true in DS. What they are doing now is updating DS and if you've noticed, everytime a remodel gets pushed in, the classic, which is superior to the new ones in PVP is turned into part of the classic gamepass, the useless caveman gamepass aswell. They are just funding their next failure, which will be AOK 2. P.S They suck at managing games and properly listening to the correct community members.
Another note the community wants remodels to really old classic models but they ALSO don’t want to lose their classic nostalgia so that’s why they are thrown under the gamepass SOMETIMES.
was my favorite game until they changed the main map all those years ago. haven't been able to get back into it since, don't get why they didn't at least keep it as another map. that change was enough to shatter the rose-tinted glasses i'd worn for the past several years. its not fun to have to afk on a private server for days straight for a single skin, its not fun to have to dip at the sight of certain dinosaurs, its not fun to get targeted by a group and spend the next three hours getting your eldered dino back elder. don't know if any of that's changed in the past few years, because i haven't been able to bring myself to play for more than half an hour since the map change lmao
da was fun, just wish it had more dinos, more skins, stuff like that. would've been a lot more fun if it brought over more ds elements. overall just kinda sad. that game was my adolescence
dont know what map you're referring to but most of the old maps have actually been added back, they're currently bugged but Chicken is working on trying to fix that in this moment.
Dinosaur Simulator is monotonous, time consuming, and boring. There are no abilities, there's nothing interesting to do, growing is essentially just AFK farming, combat is flat and janky, and there's not much room to display skill. It is extremely basic and it has a large roster, and all that on top of its age is why it has been so popular for so long. Personally if I wanted to spend hours growing a sauropod, I would just play Path of Titans. It's better than DS in practically every way possible.
Knock back is literally the most unnecessary feature. My friend was trying to kill something small underwater and when he hit it, it got shot into an underwater cave.
They literally made the new skins so expensive like 57k For An Avinychus Skin? Bro at least those devs lower the prices and literally. 250k for a stupid robot? 100k For A Stupid Scylla? I don't have a problem with he prices. I think every game should have they're hard to earn rewards weather its skins or items or whatever. But the idea that those "hard to earn" skins/dinosaurs have absolutely 0 benefits to them. They all equally lose to the most easily obtainable creates in the game. So honestly what's even the point. Its really just to flex that you have them. But you'd look more like an idiot who wasted their time.
@@relieveddimetrodon9058 yeah, but I mean, Tripod having 45 defense and baros hp was stupid because it was utterly broken with its range, but now they nerfed it and its not even in the pvp tier list anymore, something 250k is not on the tier list, same goes for excavator which is 150k (also not on list) and Avi we dont even talk about him, its a literal hybrid that costs 200k, thats like 20 nights afk with baro farming for a dino that has almost as much hp as an oncho and a frickin styra has more damage then it, they should buff these expensive along with all hybrids.
Its a shame really a lot of things could be better. Also, Im not really a fan of the new map though since for some reason they like maps that are clustered or bumpy. There is no like flat area to enjoy the scenery, you get stuck on stuff, and struggle to climb here and there. It would have been better to have had a bigger and more wide open map.
For me the problem is the fact that the game doesn't feel like a dinosaur simulator anymore, it went from a game where you primarily played as creatures from the mesozoic + some skins some of which were of course other prehistoric creatures but they weren't there own thing and just 1 to 2 hybrids to a mess where the devs spin a wheel to introduce creatures long extinct after the dinosaurs ,same goes with skins some skins are just objectively bad because they fail to show what animal you are playing against the tarbosaurus skin is in my opinion one of the worst offenders, because the skin that it has would've fit a deinocheirus or therizinosaurus better but naah lets give the animal with a big head and small arms a skin with a smalish head that shares no resemblence and long arms .And not only that but the game is repetitive as hell step 1 spend like 1 hour growing step 2 die to some bullshit step 3 repeat and the pvp is just a mess ,ranging is a horrible mechanic if you ask me ( tho i will say its less atrocious on slower animals), the game just feels..desperate to hold onto any old fame it once had.
the best thing in the game is just genuinely how relaxing it is when theres no one else ruining it for you just make some buddies and chill thats usually why i join smaller servers
I think it would be really nice if they took the dinosaur model growing from da and implement it into DS, like instead of hitting juve and super sizing out of now where have it to where your constantly growing. For example 20% adult should be a good bit smaller that 100% elder. And to make the dreaded growing time less boring they should add quest or missions like kill 3 player or go to the desert to earn either DNA or a 1.5x growth multiplier for like 2 minutes. Keep the missions realistic to a Dino game and not like DA which was find a tree branch like tf?
My problem is the ui of the game and the conbat. The ui has been the same for almost a whole decade, and the combat is just spam click and spam 1 on ur keyboard, im only really just playing the game now because DA has been discontinued

@@Markopa-gc5ndif they added abilities and fixed the range on the dinosaurs that's what I want abilities because combat gets stale as it's just clicking you m1 and 1 on your keyboard And fix some outrageous ranges that some dinos have also give hyprids a Lil bit of advantage as really basic dinos can kill them and they have no chance of surviving it
I think its dino sims simplicity that makes it good. Its really just a sandbox where you get to unlock cool stuff. With a slight nudge to a survival game. All it needs is to be balanced and some bug fixes and it'd really be the perfect game.
To be fair the only balanced game they have is Attack On Kaiju and it’s only a little bit balanced (some kaiju in the game you can’t do anything about and are unfun to fight against regardless of game mode, looking at you Timmy)
Maybe what this game really needs is y’know, more gameplay features? The devs have been so focused on adding virtual dinosaur skins that get overpriced to oblivion once the event it’s part of is over, that they haven’t addressed one of the main issues of this game. We need more things to do, as fun as the game can be rn, it gets boring after 2-3 hours, that’s not good for player retention. and the ppl who are playing for long are dedicated ppl with nothing else to do, or just AFK farming as a sauropod for 24hrs straight.
So what should this game add, well to make it more interesting, I think randomly spawning events that actually have an impact would be helpful. Stuff like weather/disasters, hidden valuables in caves, and overworld bosses that give a bit of dna like the kraken. They could also add Jerry from DA so you could sell rare collectables for some extra dna, this makes players want to do more than just walk around and survive
Also, no more limited playables. Just add them to the game for purchase, even if it’s like 10k s-dna. I can understand doing this with skins, but entire playables with their own set of skins being locked behind trading until they possibly come back. I think it would be healthier for the game this way
The one thing that’s irritating is that like 90% of the skins are limited and you can only get it if you bought it when it was available or hope someone trades you it. There’s like 4 Dino’s that are limited too and j can’t remember the last time they weren’t limited
They should add speed the only time I feel like a real organism is when I'm a baby the sprinting speed is so sad especially underwater animals they move so slow
They really decided to discontinue development on Dinosaur Arcade, literally higher quality Dinosaur Simulator, but insisted on milking DS even further

They wanted to keep working on DA, but they didn't have enough money to work on it. +A lot of Nostalgia blinded jerks stayed on DS and are saying "it's better" I heard on the discord that DS is only being updated with those skins do they can work on Dinosaur arcade.
It was dropped because DA creatures take a lot more effort to script, model (being restricted to a very specific style + each color having to be manually modeled as part of its own color variant), and animate, and the devs were gradually losing motivation to continue working on it. Dinosaur Simulator is 100% extremely buggy, but if you've messed around with DS Testing as of recently you'll see that Chicken has made some pretty good optimization and QOL improvements (a search bar that allows you to search the name of a dinosaur and its skins and find them with ease, a new sorting layout that lets you see all stats, the ability to change stats to whatever you like in vip servers, revamped climbing, etc). DS's main reason for being picked up again was profit, as the game is the most popular of UG's work and continues to retain a loyal fanbase, making it the most reliable source of income.
DA was the biggest important thing to chicken, but just for being almost boring and a lil strange or hard to play, makes it bad, But dino sim is cool fighting dinosaur game yeah it has some issues but it's better than DA

I played this game a little bit, I kept having a toxic group KOS me over and over... They literally had a flyer just come to find where I spawned too, so they could do so. The game balancing is complete trash and its really not worth playing.
Honestly I have to agree with this me who had no clue what I was doing and my buddy who had a good grasp of the game at the time dumped on a hot head and his 2 little buddies this one time, something worth 100,000 dna getting dumpsters by something worth only like what 500 is crazy
they should also create a non PVP map, where people can just chill and grow dinos, especially for people who are on console since they cant go to private servers which sucks since i myself doesnt own a PC and it sucks when you cant even chat to people. Anf the amount of kosers in this game is a joke.
that's true it's hella unbalanced but I think that it's easy to fix by playing as a carno cause it's fast enough to outrun anything that might kill it and has good dmg idk abt the HP tho.

@@KASHMONNY most of the other badges aren't obtainable anymore but the Day badges obviously give u the starter animals, the feather badges give you Raven Hatz and Crow Istio, the Yin/Yang badges give you Yin Flare and Yang Tide (skins for Torvo and Chilantai) and the spinning badge gave you Alien Irritator back in the day
The only problem I having is that when I die I start over being a bday and have to be an elder back for 20 minutes straight like bro can I at least KEEP the chracter I have as an elder like I wouldn't care about the dna I care about the skins in my opinion since there good

Atleast dinosaur arcade was ok,you can play any creature and have fun but in dinosaur simulater I tried playing ONCE and I was killed by everything and everyone I could not make progress and the gameplay was boring.

Haven't played this game since 2017, actually forgot about it. Edit: there was a time where Machimosaurus was THE busted dino of my time that no one played, tiny, but equal dmg to the Rex with more armor, loved bullying people with it.
I kinda want them to do a cqc combat system where no range, make the rotation of the game a bit slower so when cqc you can do like back hitting so even you're a small dino you have a chance on a fight, but people saying it's stupid because they will just gonna use sauropods. Dude just use sauropods too or something.

I have been a DS player since 2016. I played wars with admins back in the day like Xenomorph and blade. I am a really veteran player, I have 3 albinos, 5 megas, G Baro, GAB, etc. Personally, DS is a very good game, its gameplay mechanics entertain you for hours and hours. It almost died due to its lack of updates due to the priority given to Dinosaur Arcade. and it never reached more than 2k players. Now with DS they are reviving it and it is already over 3k. It is a game with tremendous potential that will surely enter the top if they continue with this constant updating. Who doesn't like dinosaurs and expensive things??
En vez de seguir haciendo aspectos, mapas, hibridos . En focarse en cosas que realmente importa, da mucha frustracion que un dino de 500 dna le gane a un maldito hibrido, y las skin mas prestigiosas no tenga ninguna diferencia con el dino en si. Hay que tener orden y saber en que iniciar, si en mapas, skin, remoldes o en mejorar todos los errores del juego, o mas sencillo, traernos el Ds de antes que los hibridos daban miedo, ya ahora tantos scrips que la gente saca muchas skin, hb triplicados, hay cosas que se deben de sentar y pensar bien. It'd become a P2W because people would instantly just buy DNA and get a hybrid. You're arguing to make the game completely one-sided and very non-beginner experience. From one unbalanced version to an even more unbalanced version. Why even mention balancing if you just want the expensive stuff to absolutely dominate. Farming DNA takes forever compared to just outright buying, plus the game is just more outright a collectors game than anything else. One that the game developers honestly don't care about anymore. The models themselves dictate things like hitboxes too

Their stats are generally higher than the average creature, plus the mega can go in and out of water, and an Abi can escape whenever it wants to. If they get even more of an advantage, they'll be the only thing you see in the game. Trex should be strong anyways
Da is basically just a more refined, better in every aspect game in comparison to ds and i don't see how one could disagree with me other then just nostalgia. I did play ds back in 2015 and i liked it since it was the best on the website. Da failed mainly because of the content they were churning out. They put too much into new dinos every month and gameplay features like carding and stuff. If they laid back a little it would still be up and running to this day besides back when it was a thing it had way more players then ds did XD. I played this game when it was at its best, 2015-2018. This game has been on a terrible decline ever since late 2019 and it’s only gotten worse. The game itself could be better and I mean a LOT better, but the community is also full of assholes who just lurk around the map with no life killing everything they see. Everything is expensive, especially factoring in how slow you get DNA and if you have a life you’ll just get shit on by some no neck low life playing as a galactic overlord star eating lovecraftian horror monster labeled as a “dinosaur skin”.

dinosaur arcade failed because it tried being a different game while trying to keep some traditional values from DS which was executed in a very bad way and had a different grinding experience which needed more brainpower to use which is very hard for a usual Roblox player.
Yo lo jugaba desde el 2015 y hasta hoy en día me duele lo que hicieron a mí pequeño, en casi 2018 o 2017 lo deje tras perder mi cuena y vaya que es odioso farmear ADN y adultos dinos, pero lo peor es lo desactualizado que está, cuando buscas un juego en roblox es por que no tienes plata para pagarte el Path of Titans y si buscas una experiencia amena te encuentras un basilosaurio de 10k mientras que es un calvario conseguí un mísero 1k. Es absurdo el tiempo que te llea crecer dinos ahora que tengo la horas contadas y los medelos aunque últimamente mejores siguen siendo muy meh, si bucan un buen juego de supervivencia y muuuuucho menos abusivo vayan a sonaría que aunque también tiene sus temas no es solo AFK farming. Por que este juego es un jodido desastre, y aún si experiencia puedo ver la cantidad de errores que tiene y puedo entender si no le dieron el trato que se mecere pero, seguir con el mismo mapa todo bug con modelos que se traban y ni animación de SENTARSE o DORMIR además de un pvp aburrido. El juego de resume en Barosaurio FARM y realmente me apena por que era mu juego favorito y lo volvería a jugar si fuera mejor pero así no vale tu tiempo hermano es mejor no jugar a nada. Y un montón de errores más quedan pero con esto es más que suficiente para hecharte para atrás sobre el juego.
DA failed because It was an actual good game built on the wrong platform. But DS caters to the Roblox audience. So many games on Roblox are just skinners boxes. Thats because its easy to trick the majority of Roblox into thinking they are playing a game. They are designed to get you hooked and thus spend money out of fear of losing out of obtaining something. You can try and say I'm wrong but am I? Just take a good long look at Roblox games. Pet sim X, Adopt me, Blox fruits, creatures of sonaria just to name a few. These games have almost 0 game design hooked into it. They are designed to make you spend money to get ahead or to obtain rare things. Heres my main point about it and why it relates to DS, and DAs failure. Roblox community is mainly consisted of little kids and young teens and I'm not trying to insult anyone by saying this. This general age group of Roblox is incredibly easy to please. They are satisfied by the simplest of things and this is why games like pet sim, adopt me, blox fruits, etc catch these people into their scheme. They lure them into the game since the game is easy to get into and understand, its easy to get into because remember I said these games are usually poorly designed simple games. So they have a simple gameplay loop. This is why these games have much larger player bases. Now find any good game, well structured, good gameplay loop, and well designed. Like DA for example. Often consist of lower player counts. Why is this? because kids give up easily. They get intimidated by all the different things you can do, the different ways to play or grind, especially since DA had no tutorial. So often they deny the game before they even get a chance to get into it. this separates the older folk from the younger folk. You could notice that DA's community had a MUCH larger percentage of older people than DS ever did. And I'm not saying that older people don't play this game, but just a much lesser percentage than others. Now look at REAL games. Steam games, epic games, Sony games, etc. The larger titles often have tens of thousands of players all usually older players. This is because these games are properly structured, especially because they are paid and require better gaming equipment which older people usually own. Just think of steam as Roblox for older people. Older people don't like skinners box games. This all fills into why DA failed, and that's simply because Roblox creators often do not favor those who are harder to please. AKA adults. Now I'm not saying that DS was inherently a skinners box or bad game. Its mostly a victim of time, back then Roblox games were still quite simple but not a skinners box. DS is just old, and when they tried to make a new game it ultimately succumbed to Roblox's community and age range. And for those who wonder, the only reason there are older people in DS is because they've been here since the game started out, its just nostalgia factor. That much is factual whether you agree with it or not.
It's obvious some people will think like you are ATM, But hybrids are end-game content, they are your reward for actively playing the game and either trading or getting it from events, they should be the go-to's for main combat, their stats ATM are fine, but getting outranged by some goofy little shitter is just frustrating for everyone, he is not completely wrong.

The "range" thing, is probably the worst thing that has ever happened to this game, it just does not make sense, it looks stupid honestly, the average pvp is going back and forth hoping to bite the other player And what annoys me is that this type of pvp was made by accident, came from models with poorly designed hitboxes, and with time people began to abuse them and creating an aberration of a combat system
