The Problem With: Hogwarts Legacy 

Performance has improved significantly since the latest patch. This just further proves to me that there were optimization issues with the game on release. There are still some minor issues, but it isn't anywhere near as bad as anything shown in this video thankfully. Reply here if your performance has improved as well.

There was some stutter during my playthrough, especially around Hogsmeade, and the longer you have the game running it starts to have missing texture/texture rendering issues. But man, my experience wasn't nearly as bad as yours.

I remember watching a streamer play this game on PC and I thought I was hallucinating when I noticed how stuttery it was. It's unfortunate that smooth game performances are a thing of the past nowadays, though I am interested in Hogwarts Legacy still...

Mine is equally as bad as yours. On a 2080 Super, 5600X, NVME SSD and 16gb RAM. All my settings are on low or medium at 1440x810 (due to being too stuttery at 1080p). I've tried every "fix" you'll see on RU-vid or Reddit, nothing works. I think it's more complex than just being a single bottleneck. But a common issue seems to be that the game can't run with 16gb of RAM. It doesn't ACTIVELY use a lot, but it basically allocates all of your RAM to the game, free or not. I see far more systems running smoothly with 32gb of RAM. I thought VRAM affected it too but due to my using lower settings, my VRAM is only at 4-5gb or so, so it's not that. I also think that there's some form of threading issue, as it struggles to do things in parallel. Every action triggers a stutter. Casting spells, interacting with the environment. The game will hang for FIVE seconds often, so you just stare at a single hanging frame in the hope it'll start working again. Where you worry it's crashed but it actually hasn't. It could just be shader compilation related though, as that's usually the culprit in games. But I've never seen it this bad... That's on top of lots of bugs (not being able to dismount a mount without fast travelling somewhere, opened chests showing as lootable when they aren't, resources spawning in walls or the ground, NPCs spazzing out or T posing, and many others) and a few crashes too. You are very right. Companies have no shits to give about optimising for PC ATM. It's abysmal that the community doesn't give them more flak for it though. I refunded Dead Space due to stutter issues, and when you're willing to mention it online, all you get are the RTX 4090 Andies saying "it runs fine on mine...". I want to return to console at this point. It's not perfect but at least they only have to test a small range of hardware and performance profiles, so the chance of issues is greatly reduced. I'm fed up...

Well, I’m glad I brought the game on Consol but I do have to wait until May 5th.

My main problem with the game is the massive missed opportunity for enemy variety. It's right there in the source material, so let's see what we have. Poachers, spiders, poachers, wolves, poachers, with some goblin back up, a troll, and poachers. Centaurs? Dragons? No? Damn it!

I don't understand how people are having stutter/fps issues. I was able to run the game on 4k and high graphical settings with a consistent 60fps, on PC and with an Intel CPU. With how great the game looks, that's astonishing. I usually don't even try to run games in 4k. I don't have a super high end GPU either, it's a 20 series. Also, I don't understand how people fail to comprehend why PC games are less optimized than console games. For consoles, they have to make their game run well for what, like 2 different systems? Xbox and PlayStation. For PC players, they have to make sure their game works on an almost infinite combination of different PC parts.
