Hey! Thanks for watching. you should subscribe. ANYWAYS I wanted to put some more of my thoughts down here as this video was a long ramble that I cut down into a somewhat presentable fashion and I feel like there's some stuff I didn't explain well enough. - These are my thoughts on my experience from BETA. I doubt that much will change, but this video and my opinion is absolutely subject to changing depending on if Valve makes any changes or if my experience was just too limited. - I can't prove that Premier is a reskin of CSGO MM, but it sure feels like it. It appears Valve has stuck with Glicko 2, and my experience has been incredibly similar to that of CSGO MM aside from aesthetic changes they have made. If you don't relate to this, then that's totally fair. I think the bottom line here for me is that Valve hasn't changed the experience enough for me to take it more seriously than faceit. - I like a lot of things that they did with Premier. The picks/bans, transparent elo, and separating it from regular comp are all awesome changes. - I think GLICKO 2 is awesome in theory, but Valve has never been able to make it work in a satisfying way for the player. - Thank you for watching the video and for reading this. I personally think Glicko 2 was amazing in CSGO. If you know how it works and also know what actually contributes to your elo it was very predictable and it represented my skills really well. I have not played enough games in CS2 in premiere yet to have an opinion about it but if your elo gained or lost is not dependent on the elo difference of the teams than that's not Glicko 2 any more.

all they care about are cases, and you buying them. i mean, they got al ot of money just to be able to fix matchmaking ... OK, cheaters are a problem too, but matchmaking is rly something that piss** off.

Speculation: FaceIT might just have an easier job because their playerbase is a selected group of players who want to take the game more seriously -> they play more often -> their skill is more consistent -> a less complicated ELO system gives enjoyable results.

i dont see why any of this means that matchmaking should suck. speculation: valve likes to make big doggie poo poo ranking system so that people are constantly unhappy about their current ranking and wants to improve it, putting tons of hours in the game and ending up spending money on it.

It totally makes sense that a company would kneecap their game matchmaking system in a way to deliberately make it feel unfair in some conspiracy to hook players. It absolutely couldn’t be the much simpler explanation that it’s a new system, with a new game, with new players and it will certainly improve with time. 🤡

You are 100% right on inconsistent matchmaking, in beta I kept getting matched against absolute 5 stack sweats while my team were literal silvers, and today I got matched against borderline closet cheaters from FPL or some shit, somehow CS:GO felt better in this regard and it was dogshit too How am I supposed to discover my ELO if the game actively stops me from getting those stupid 10 first wins

@@acev3521real talk thats almost a 50% win rate. I’ve legit got 4 wins and have lost the past like 10 lmaoo. I don’t mind accepting I’m dog shit and being placed a lower elo, but it just feels so inconsistent. I’ll top frag and my teammates are shit one game, just to hop into the next and get fucking domed with players who are way better than me or 5 stacked. 😭

I was the same... I thought it's stupid that you have to win 10 games... but if you think abaout it: this way you have to always give your best otherwise all people just would lose 10 matches on purpose very quickly to get their ELO or even a low elo on purpose and then everybody would be in the lowest ELO... that would suck as well.

Towards the end of the beta, it was starting to feel like matches had gotten through that awkward period and were started to become more balanced. Sure we still had disparities but it was getting "calmer". Whilst everyone is having to re-find their place in the skill hierarchy, it's crazy season 😅

Back in the 1.6 days, like 2004, people were used to arrange their matches via IRC with a simple formula: 'Looking for 5vs5 PCW - Got server - Mid+ skill". It was based on trust and gave players the responsibility to make games fun and fair. Not saying it worked all the time, but we usually had fair games and for my part never really needed auto-match making. It's very convenient to have matchmaking, though playing with random people who don't give a fuck about communication and their team mates, plus the total random elo mix you described deffo are a nuisance in CS2. Also, back then there were channels for all sorts of lineups: 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, 5v5. Man, 3v3 was so fun back then, kind of miss it. :-)

I hope premier improves. I think it will and of course should. Especially now that they have moved to a seasons format. They have the opportunity to improve their system every time ranks reset.

@@WilsonCS2 i was thinking that rank reset is just going to cause chaos while the top and bottom players are dumped into the same lobbies. i hope valve dont hard reset players and just push the bottom all up to 5k and cut the top off down to 15k, then let it play out. needing 10 games of roulette like the beta And like the release to get a rank that only shows that you won 10 imbalanced games is bad.

always thought a cool feature would be a preference between long med or short que times for ping and team balance purposes. Would gladly wait a while if the next 30 mins in game is actually tense and enjoyable .

Agree. They could even put your 5 guys in a small map like fy_iceworld for a 5-10 min DM or Arms Race warm up session while you waited for an appropriate matchup.

In the beta, there was times when I dropped plus 30 kills and lost because my team is full of unranked players or people who got placed a little higher than they should have and I lost -470

as much as i hate going to a third party service, unless valve gets it together it looks like faceit is king again for now :( here's hoping valve gives some competition to faceit so both get better

I agree with the points you made, but also its def too early to judge of just off the beta. The ranking system has already changed, people who I saw get placed in 20k got placed in 12k this time around. (maybe because more people have access? idk) But from my software experience, if I had to guess, the beta was just their shot in the dark to see how things play out based off the values they guesstimated and they likely have changed them. In my first few games on premier though, I've noticed getting super unfair matches and teammates or enemies that were in like nova in csgo, so it ends up just being me carrying or someone on the other team having to carry. It doesn't make sense that there isn't a weighted value in the background trying to make those placement matches more fair. Hopefully that's something we'll see in the next season. My theory is that they purposely kept the match making differences loose for the beta to be able to collect this less desirable case of unfair match making. Only time will tell. Transparency on why you're losing 400 ello one game and winning 150 the next would be super nice, since it's never fun to be in a game where everyone is about the same rank but you just get fucked on the ello loss for no reason.

i dont get why every single competitive game refuses to deviate from ELO and the outcomes of games. If i do awful in one game, and its my fault, take extra elo compared to if i top frag and it takes less, with variation all the way through. Winning/losing streaks and the outcomes of games should be THE LAST variable the game looks at, as counterintuitive as it sounds.

My biggest issue is when I get very low skilled players matched with me, I had a game where my team had a bunch of No Mic, less than 100 hour players and I have 3000+ hours in game. It is infuriating to know there is no shot of winning when your team is this bad. Faceit also needs to do better with communication enforcement. In their new “Super Queue”, they aren’t enforcing mic usage, I would much prefer it to be an option for players to be forced to use mic, or get a “no mic” status if reported too much for it and I never have to see them again

I somewhat agree. I think part of the problem is that we only have experience from the beta, which, in theory, should have a significantly lower player count, throwing of the MM system. I also don’t like how you have to win 10 matches to get ranked, especially if valve is going to be resetting ranks regularly. At least based off the beta, my placement matches were all over the place, and I encountered pretty much all of the problems described in this video.

i do agree with some if not most of the points you brought to the table although i want to counter them with what some people have said. because of the limited beta some of these issues are due to people 1, finding their footing in a new game, 2 a lack of data to be based off a system that everyone was emerging themselves in. after all. you cant judge a book by its cover if the pages haven't been written so to say. like towards to end of the beta season i was getting a lot more balanced games. because there was more of a pool of people with their ranks. that being said i totally agree. some games I'm playing with 5 stacks with unparallel coms and skill and others bots or a mix of both but that's what's going to happen when so many new people are playing this game and have never played csgo. and also know one has their ranks so the system can not dictate placements. i would like to see or at least feel a system where previous seasons ranks placed you in pools with others in lobbies or at least used that data constructively because as others has said it doesn't feel fair that every season we have to get 10 wins with cooked players in both facets and get placed based off all over the shop placements. id rather everyone start at 1,000 and in the depending on your first 10 wins you can climb a lot faster at the start of the season and then once you have your 10 its just back to normal elo gain and loss or something like that, but this would feel defeating for low elo players who wouldn't see much of a difference but idk. just an idea. does anyone else have any concepts they would like to see it taken in when it comes to placements in particular? edit: also quick question. i pretty much only play prem. are people still playing competitive (does anyone know their stats of this % wise ) it just seems like a sweat to earn a rank for each map and doesn't hold to your profile the way the elo does i don't feel as incentivised unless i really want to play a certain map multiple times but with this pool ATM i find in prem i can just communicate in the chat and pick/ ban with my buddies and get something im interested in most of the time. like other then getting verti global for the flex of saying im verti global whats the point i want someone to be able to hover over my tile and see an overall perception of how good i am at the game. i still like how you have to ranks for each map it makes sense because stomping a high rank felt strange that they had that rank but they say only played different maps and this one wasn't their strong suit. but idk it would be nice if you could queue for both i do miss that prem inside of the com selection apart of me liked the chance factor of me getting a prem idk idk im just waffling. can someone share their views on this to expand mine? cheers

I think the same, but also we need to wait until more people get their ranks. Im sure it will feel more fair once more players are ranked and it can match accordingly. Def agree though that it should take into account premade's

What I found weird is that the game was telling me that if I win I would gain 200 elo if I lose its -100 so one would assume that my team was not favored and that a tie would result in me winning some elo but at my surprise I lost 58 elo on a loss. These numbers do not make sense.

probably correct but i wouldnt jump the gun after 2 days of official release. also as someone who only started faceit in june of this summer, while the physical playing experience felt better, matchmaking and team compositions were equally equally frustrating as mm. it may be because i play solo but it feels like the people that are in my games range incredibly in skill level. very aggravating that despite having an average KD of 1.5 through ~60 games ive only been able to climb to level 5. skill issue ig

it's really weird in cs2 that you literally just can get stuck on the same rating even with losing 031230912309 times (i am talking about stuff like u have 7000 rating but it doesn't go down) and in csgo you will lose the rating no matter what expect having lowest rank (silver 1)

it also tells you how much ELO you will gain or lose before the match starts, which tells me that my personal performance and the end scoreline don't influence your ELO at all its black and white win or lose you can win with 3 kills 20 deaths get the same elo as if you carried.. 13-1 loss, same elo loss as 13-11

I have 8k hours, playing cs for over 10 years. Solo cueing for almost a year bcs i moved to europe (not always but almost all the time. Its hard to get people with my experience bcs they have their communitys) i played the beta and it lookd like premier used the csgo rank as reference to put people on the respective lvl after the 10 wins and cuieng actually was putting me with people that also had a few 1k hours. How it also workd in csgo. But those last days after the release were just a shitshow. Soloq is impossible in premier, played 4 matches solo and lost 3 of them against 5 stacks, the game putting me with actually kids and people with just a few hundred hours. I feel like the cue system is unexistent . I understand that ranking system got like a reset or something but it should use the data and elo in sort off a way to give some coherence to put me against people that actually match up with my playtime and steam account. ( i say this bcs in csgo it workd like that, in my main i got a game and atleast 4 guys had a 10yr medal and the others 5yr medal and in my smurf i would get accounts that matched up with the date that it had been created 2021 medal and forwards) in the last 2 days i only played mm in mirage to check up how the ranking system works and what rank it would give me. I got nova1 after stommping silvers and more casual players, i dont have a problem with the rank but it just feels unfair and wrong that the games arent never even, not even oncee after like 24 games in freakin 3 days not even 1 game that felt even. I feel like people like me dont have a chance to get good games. Or its me stommping and carryng or i get a team where everybody has the default crosshair and the enemy team playing together, i mean at best mg2 skill but its just that they atleast have knowledge to play organized and win and im stuck with people that dont know how to refund a gun 😂 i gonna delete the game. Its just frustrating. Its not like they dont have the data to organize the system they just dont care, or the game ia rushed but its a big disappointment. Its time to uninstall and touch somegrass and comeback in a few months. I know its gonna get fixed and things have to fall in place, but this is csgo 2014/2015 all over again. What the hell valve, we are grown up at this point

You have a good point, one time I was playing vertigo against a 5 stack team with an average elo of 18k while i was solo queing and played with players who are so new to the game that they don't even know how to open the buy menu and buy a gun, let alone use their mic or know the map, and the other two guys were 2k and 6k elo who are just trash tbh. It was just close to impossible to carry that game and win(my elo was 14k in the beta btw). This has not happened once but twice where i get to play with people who have no prior experience in first person shooter games let alone CS and we play against a heavily stacked team with high elo. Also, by the end of the beta, it was close to impossible to rank up/gain elo, because 1 loss equals around -450 elo and 1 match win only grants around +110-120 elo.

Is this based off beta? Or full release? Since release I've gotten way more even matches. Faceit elo has had time to develop to create more accurate ranks and match ups idk this video seems early to me. The player base during beta was tiny compared to release aswell. Much love.

Another thing that irks me about cs rating is that personal performance and overtime has no effect on the amount gained/lost. Why am I dropping 30 with an overtime if im still going to lose 250 elo anyways

the top like 100+ there win rates are all 90%+ . But on faceit they are in the 53-60ish% winrate. Could possibly do like the 2 highest or highest color can only 3 stack or if they 5stack they only vs 5 stacks

You are so right. Now, I get why matches are unbalnced atm, because no one rank is really settled. That’s fine for now. But the transparency needs to be fixed, and the loss/win elo delta must make sense. Maybe for the balancing, make an options in the settings for how long you are willing to wait for a balanced game. Like a slider between Fast -> Balanced

People complaining their shots wont hit, the hitbox this and that, the fps is lower, the subtick sucks, blablabla but for me what really makes CS2 not good yet is the damn matchmaking system. None of the points above matter if you'll never get decent matches.. Game could be perfect, but if I keep getting stupidly unbalanced matches, where I win 13-2 then lose 13-1 next over and over, then it isn't good, it sucks And I hate faceit stuff, it just isnt my thing, I want regular CS2 experience, no external/thirdparty shit

I think they gotta split the q 2bh. Solo, 2s & 3s, and 5v5. 5v5 can be simple elo and the solo can reward individual preformance like adr. There is some stats (awp stats, entry fragger stats like opening kill, etc.) that can predict certain things that i also believed could be leveraged to make fairer games(using previous example, giving each team a solo awper instead of 2 vs 0)

My duo queue and I are both faceit 10 players. In beta we were like ~14k and every game I was against semi pro 3.5k faceit elo players. Now it seems we're on the other side, all of our placement matches have been against players with less than 1k hours and the first person we've seen with a cs2 rank was 1.7k.

Something that's irritating about the rank that you get assigned from your 10 placement matches is that your elo is very clearly decided by the first 3-4 matches primarily I've got a 65% win rate in my matches and I'm still considered in the bottom 10% of players because I lost a few games early on in my placement matches Climbing up seems unnecessarily grindy, and deranking also feels simultaneously too forgiving when you can lose against people with half your elo score and only lose ~100 elo per loss (I was much higher in the beta phase and felt like there was almost no punishment from getting stomped by lower elo players) I think over time we'll have a situation where the majority of players are in the upper tiers of rank with 10-15k+ Elo (sort of like how things were after the second rank reset from 2022) and ranks will be just like CSGO - I.E. no correlation between skill level and rank

I've been losing my last 15 games because I get teammates that can't even reach 2 digited kills... I'm not hating/flaming them because it's not their fault that the matchmaking is as bad as it is and I hope Valve fixes this. It's literally unplayable in this state

It's been somewhat consistent for me but overall it's not great. Wait times are super short but I'd happily wait another minute to get evenly matched opponents.

Limited test / beta had significantly less players to pull from the searching que.... the longer it takes the search the wider the elo/ping tolerance increases... Now that the searching que has literally X4, if playing during peak playing times, I doubt you would experience that much of a disparity....

Premier elo is very simple to understand (it is also one of the worst systems ever) Everything is based on Winrate, 1 win = +~100 elo, 2 wins = +~180 elo, 3 wins = +~250 to 350, lose one game, and youll lose 100+, lose 2 games and it can randomly go up to 480 elo lost regardless of the level of your team or the enemy team, it purely is stupid AF

c'mon, its like second day of game, people don't have rank yet that's why you get paired with strong opponents. I guess system simply pairs you with closest available player by rank. It doesn't wait for someone with similar rank to appear but takes best available, and not many people have rank yet, that's why big gaps in skill level

I assumed that those massively uneven matches where just a thing from beta. The goal in a beta should be getting more matches in and not the highest quality of matches. Also the rating gains and losses seem really weird and have not changed at all?! The only thing that feels somewhat confirmed is that those -400 rating matches ome in once you are on a 5-6 game loosing streak. Every other game seems to be -100 / +200. Enemy elo did not matter at all. We play vs. a 5stack that is 3-4k elo above us? -100 / +200; We play vs. 5 randoms where everyone is 2k elo below us? -100 / +200,....

Ive been grinding CS2, but it’s so unmotivating to play against 5-10k hours / retired OCE pros when my team are new. And when I get my rank, I’m at ~6K but still playing with / against 12-15k

Valve has never had great matchmaking/rankings. People harp on COD for its strict skill based matchmaking, but it does its job very well. You're always in lobbies that mostly match your level. Whatever algorithm they use to determine player skill is way more accurate than Valve's. CS2 is nice, the facelift is nice, but I expect more from a sequel to a 10+ year old game. Was hoping for a way more refined MM system, better deathmatch spawns for instance, or hell unique death match maps, better AI, new animations for weapons (they are 11+ years old at this point)...

2:55 that is not true, I have games where I lost no elo because the opponents are significantly higher rank than my team. Part of this is because here in Australia the population count is so low that it tries to speed up the queue times than having quality matchmaking so you often just get super one-sided games, the game knows that and doesn't punish you for losing if your team are so low in rank.

I 100% agree mister wilsoncs2, in the beta I heard that the Number one player was just 5 Stalking with friends and was just getting into bot Loblies, pushing her into the top 10 in the World at least. Also I feel like it makes no sense that the game just rolls the dice at the start of the game distributing the elo. I think it should be based off of your Performance, for instance even if you Lose but outfrag everyone else you should Lose less, and if you win but still bot frag you should still get less elo

The #1 was queuing w/ known cheaters. Has more to do with the Anticheat than issues with the ranking system itself.

I was rated 4k (got griefed in a lot of placement games) and the other team had YSL who was top 7 in NA and possibly cactus as well. Their lowest player was 24k and mine was 11k. It was honestly comical. Teammate didnt even connect so we couldn't even play it out. Just bad experience all around, I wanted to play it out though.

I am in the biggest elo hell of my whole life I won 64% of ranked matches and it should have been more than that if I didn’t have silver teammates. And now I 30 bomb with 28 adr bots on my team, or blatant cheaters going 30 and 4 facing me. I am hard stuck 5.5-5.9k elo and I was 12k+ easy in beta. I get bots that save pistol than buy 2nd round and get 4 kills the whole game it’s so cancer! I was lem in Csgo and the teammates I am getting are the worst I have ever seen I could knife and Zeus only and top frag it’s so dumb idk how ranked is worse than in beta

I get teammates that would rather team kill and throw than when just because you ask them to not push on ct or to save instead of buy, I have played since csgo was new and this is my worst ranked experience ever

There is nothing wrong with glicko, it's just a slight twist on the original elo algorithm, the problem is valve's apparently brain dead implementation of it. They can definitely build an MMR system on glicko and have it be much, much better than this, and it wouldn't even be difficult. Things like win/lose streaks, promotion matches, rank decay, the seemingly random -600/+100 games, are all things that do nothing other than impede people from getting to their correct rating and it ruins everyone's experience until they overcome it. This is always going to be a problem until they change their MMR algorithm to allow everyone to converge to their correct rating in a reasonable amount of time, because at this rate it could take years for ranks to stabilize and people are just going to stop playing premier rather than play 100 low quality matches just to get close to their correct rank so they can actually enjoy playing. I don't know why they persist with such a flawed system when they can easily do better.

Seems like the bracket is not narrow enough at the start of a que. I'll get games like this in less than 30 seconds even here in Australia with a tiny player base compared to NA/EU. Id much rather wait a couple minutes for a closer game.

Yeah premier Elo system (or glicko-2, whatever) doesn't give enough importance to the rating difference. It seems to depend mainly on your personal rating how much you lose or gain. There's a full order of magnitude difference in the effect that the rating difference between teams has on your points gained or lost. I was around 6k in the beta season, and I consistently gained 200 points for winning and lost 100 points for losing. If the enemy was higher rated I would maybe lose 110 and gain 250. If my team was higher rated I would lose 150 and gain 210. The difference was negligible, while in reality there were matches where I definitely should have gained less than I would have lost or vice versa.

I mean any elo system will need time to give an accurate representation of skill level. Right now its extremely volatile because its literally brand new.

I think people were simply way too hyped for cs2. (even before release) they got annoyed by a lot of things and started hating the game for no good reason (probably because they thought it will change everything and didn't). i think cs2 is an improvement to cs go and it made a foundation which makes the game better for the future and that is what i expected: a game which slowly gets better not some game which suddenly gets insanely fun. While that are my overall believes, i also felt the matchmaking being stupid: games were my team were literally standing afk in the base vs enemies who predicted all my movements and had hit headshot instantly. I had games were my team was afk, i had games were it felt like enemies are pros and other bad experiences, so yes i agree it's not fun to play the placement games and maybe even after that, but i firmly believe everything will be fine with enough time!

also not all the players in your team get the same amount. during the beta i was constantly playing -100 +200 games everytime regardless of the elo's in my team and the enemies. yet the rest of the players in my team got different values.. I believe something is bugged becasue right now it doesn't make any sense. some players are constantly getting -400 +100 games while others are getting -100 +200.

I had 2 accounts for cs2 beta and one was 14k and one was 7k the 7k got really balanced matches elo wise and the 15k really wide ranges of elos

You can wait one more minute at 10-15k, but what about those guys at 20-30k? There's much less of them and they are willing to grind cs non-stop, how long and for who are they supposed to wait? I'm in the first group for the record, but I can imagine how difficult it would be to design a MM system that suits all and with the player base split in two between faceit and mm it's an even more dire situation.

It's intentional to push people into forming teams. Valve don't want solo Q's, so they will constantly stack the game and teams against you. The entire premise of Counter Strike is competitive team play.

facts I had 3 straight days after a W streak of +100 -450 elo games and it wasnt like the games were heavly my favor they were completly all over the place and consistantly -400 elo againts me if I lost. I even tied In one of those games againts 21k elo players early in beta at still lost -220 elo. It really does feel just as random and unexplainable as old CSGO ranking system but not it just shows u how unexplainable its gunna be.

We really need to press Valve on these issues, and the absurd 1000 elo kick penalty that incentivizes toxic 3 stacks to target and kick a solo player. How is the matchmaking system so fucking bad for the most popular game on Steam?

2:00 That must be an NA thing. September Beta in Europe was the best cs I've ever played. Even if there were still some elo differences, everyone was in the 7.4k - 9.5k for example

I agree with you. I didn't play beta that much because of this problem. I preferred playing csgo because I felt more evenly matched against my opponent.

I got calibrated criminally low at 4k, some how got match made with stewie and shroud against a stack of 20k players, we won and ive sense climbed another 5k elo. I dont know wtf is going on with this system

The matches played in CS2 beta season were pretty even. About less then 10% of the matches were very un-even, so that's an acceptable number.Maybe it's the ELO, if you are ranked lower, there could be way more lower ranks to play with so it's more chance of an eaven match. I can imagine games higher up ELO are more problematic because the amount of players with higher ELO are just way less available.

People were like "why do I have to wait 4 minutes for the game to start" when CS2 dropped. But I rather wait 5 minutes and have a 45 minute GOOD match, than have 30 seconds wait time to be stomped or stomp...

Awesome video! I think you made some really great points about it being a re-skin. I would also like to add a point that the ranking system STILL does not take into account your individual performance AT ALL and I find that very frustrating. We know this because the ELO you gain/lose is pre-determined. More recently I’ve been on a losing streak in 4k elo lobbies getting 25+ kills and working with teammates who have no comms. I also notice the types of teammates I get rn is super random. Could be a new player or an old 1.6 pro who carries lol Anyways, I’ll prob just go back to faceit. Much love dude

I agree, although it's better in EU, it's still frustratingly shit. I keep getting put in games with 5 soloq players against a fivestack that is higher elo. There's no reason for it to be this way when the wait times for these games are like sub 10 seconds...

My best advise to fix this would be to match players with no greater than 2000 points above or below the players level. Solo players should always queue into other solo players (on both teams). 5 stacks should always play against 5 stacks. These 5 stack teams should go against the a team with close to equal average points across all 5 players. When queued in groups of 2 or 3, queue only into groups of 2 or 3.

I really hate the "10 wins to get rank" PER MAP. It should just be a global rank like CS:GO had. It took me over 2 days of playing nothing but Inferno just to get Silver 1 on it... because I was constantly getting paired with terrible teamates, where every. single. game. at least ONE teammate would leave the match. Now I have to go through the same BS on every other map? Then progress through each individual map? hell no. It sucks. Give global ranks back pls.

While I'm definitely affected and maybe a little disappointed by this, I'm still positive it will somehow sort itself out in the following weeks (perhaps with slight help from devs). The problem with any ranking system is that it needs big enough dataset to accurately determine your rank i.e. the more you play the more accurate your rank becomes. I believe this issue stems from the fact that with the game's launch, everyone had their rank hard reset along with hidden MMR and othe gimmicky stuff, that's why system treats every player equally. I played couple of matches the day cs2 dropped and I've been matched with and against people with 3k+ elo on faceit (checked their profile) mixed with players that were worse than bots. So yeah, not the greatest experience.

Unfortunately Premier will likely (at least for the first few seasons) just be MM with pick and ban and a soft reset each season. Would like to see Valve do some cool stuff with it like DOTA 2 but hopefully they'll add it in the future

i dont understand how you get rating i got 10 wins with 3 losses and somehow got 3k rating most of my games i was 22+ frags and stomping 13-6 max and losses were 13-12 or overtime it still matched me with 5 man stack bot team but still ...in beta i got like 12 loss 10 wins and got to 10k rating.Another big thing is we still do not have a good anticheat.

Give russians a private server and ban griefers permanently. I played a game one hour ago, 33 kills, multiple clutches… lost, because 2 russians were griefing like body blocking, not buying guns, taking bomb and leaving team ect. Im unable to even win my placement matches because every game, people are griefing or theyre just unbelievably bad at the game… I cant always play with friends, were all adults that work and have a family so i have to play solo about 60% of the time, but solo queue isnt fun at all. Also, why does volvo match me against 5 stacks as a solo?! Lets add a solo/duo mode or something

I think that since CS doesn't use ELO (stop calling it that), it uses a modded glicko-2 system still afaik, the hidden confidence score also plays a large part in matchmaking. Don't know though since they don't show that number.
