im mixed with about 3/b very similar to Kellen’s hair, I had instant locs for about 6 months regret taking them out tbh lol but I’m doing sponge method now hair only about 2 inches but since my hairs a little looser it look more spike/nappish but hoping i can semi free form hair is similar to

I got a silk bonnet with an adjustable strap instead of the stretchy one(the light blue/grey one). It’s still stretchy and it can “grow” with my dreads! (Edit: Hathut is the brand if anyone is interested) 😂

I’ve noticed that when I wear a turban normally or durag that’s not tight enough they end up always being on my pillow somehow. So I went and bought a silk pillow cover. And it’s helped because my durag has come off a few times since buying the pillowcase. So I don’t think a bonnet would work. I’m thinking about getting a ski mask instead then.

@@PXNDXZZZZ make sure the ski mask fits your head. I got one of them and it was SO tight on my big head that I tried the adjustable bonnet and it surprisingly stayed out. The silk pillow cases are a solid option, though! ☮️

I had a question so I got instant locs today I been getting my hair retwisted normal for about 2/half months and went to a new loc lady some of my locs were starting to bud and some you could unravel with your fingers I don’t know my hair type but it’s real soft(I’m African American) so we agreed on $200 for her to instant loc my hair from root to the end when I got done she said “your hair is locked but not at the root because if I loc at the root it would stand straight up like an antenna) but she said my hair won’t unravel/come loose… is she correct have you ever heard of this before? Also she said she was gonna start from what it was how it was twisted but decided to comb the knots out and start fresh which hurt like a B**** she said I could wash my hair and it won’t come loose at all just said she didn’t loc them at the roots but locked the rest
