Do you think Neji should have had more screen time? How far will Boruto and Himawari go with their Byakugan?

Fans can't get over how underdeveloped the story of Naruto really is outside of the main story

Kishimoto really gave the Uchiha everything , and then he proceeded to neglect the Hyuga clan so much that they basically became irrelevant

The Huyga's never really got explored much. The Uzumaki clan is never brought up despite the fact that main protagonist is a part of it. And the Senju Clan completely disappeared. Its all about the Uchiha Clan.

It's wack how little screen time Neji got in Shippuden, and I haven't skipped any episodes. When I saw his death, it sucked but at the same time it was like "Why didn't we see Neji at all lmao". Imo Naruto tends to use filler to flesh out it's side characters more but damn they didn't even do that 💀

Personally I think Hiashi Should’ve Died instead of Neji During the War Hiashi could’ve Pushed Neji out the way and took those hits, Hiashi could’ve just Said to Neji as his Final word’s something like “It’s your Turn to Lead The Hyuga Clan Now, besides I owed Your Father (Hizashi) a Life Debt and that Debt has Now been Paid”

I still don't understand why Neji had to die. He could have been the perfect sensei for Himawari.

I always liked the Byakugan in the og Naruto. There's just something about the xray eyes that i found very useful in the Naruto world. In scouting enemy position, capturing then incapacitating targets, etc. Also imagine if they also utilize range weapons with the range of their Byakugans.

Ya the hyuga clan really didn't do much to really prove their sense of superiority over other clans. As for nejis sacrifice at the end made no sense for me when he knew about the blind spot and the spin should have deflected the wood.

I agree. I always felt that despite the byakugan being one of the top 3 ocular kekkei genkais, It doesn't have a significant impact at all. The hyuga had such a good premise to them but is never explored at all. It doesn't justify the fact that ootsutsukis keep popping out with the byakugan and have a more significant purpose for the plot, might as well just change their name to ootsutsuki. MY GOAT NEJI DID NOT DESERVE TO BE FODDER FOR NARUTO AND HINATA. that literally could've been fixed if kishimoto just made them interact more.

I'm the biggest Hyuga glazer and I agree, so many techniques weren't even shown in the anime. Like Mukai who was a one eyed Hyuga with such a thin blood tie to the hyuga, that he could only pull off a 16 palms, was able to split a fire jutsu by Shisui at the time, who was said to be the strongest of the Uchiha clan and his Fireball was alone hyped to be the strongest of the clan. That was exactly like when Bee split off Itachi's Fireball with Samehada, if the Hyuga have a similar ability that they can do this without one of the legendary weapons in the story they should've shown it. Where do we see a similar feat from Hinata or Neji in the anime? Nowhere. Edit : Hinata's Lion fist is somewhat similar cause they too shave off chakra but we haven't seen any feats from it.

Kaguya and other Otsutsuki members uses byakugan to see the future(and/or atleast peak few seconds into the future ) I hope it was also translated in og naruto battles, that'd make the Hyuga Clan OP.

The problem is that Kishimoto didn't think the Hyuuga's occular genjutsu properly. Like bro didn't really think that in a world where people are able to throw around chakra, spiritual energy and curses around at great distances, that a keikei genkai that lets you not just see the flow plus shape of chakra, among other spiritual phenomenon, but also allow you to pinpoint ways on how to temporarily disrupt its flow within individuals wouldn't be broken as fuck. Or maybe he did realize, since I now remember he literally shot his own chakra at Kidomaru through his own webbing in part 1. It reminds me of the "mystic eyes" ability from Tsukihime, in case you're not familiar with it, those eyes allows those who posses it to view tears at the fabric of any being they encounter. Said tears are so bad and exploitable the MC of Tsukihime, as a normal human armed with a boxcutter and minimal training, is able to go toe to toe with vampires plus other mythical beasts. Granted the Byakugan isn't THAT bad, but it borders on it. The main difference is that one is nerfed due to being written onto a relatively normal fleshy human, the other is nerfed because the writer wrote himself into a corner. What's worse is that the wall of chakra technique that is the rotation style shield is completely "forgotten" about too. Maybe because the editors or Kishimoto himself thought it's too similar to the Rasengan. The Hyuuga clan and Neji himself were indeed wasted, severely.

There is more time for Konohamaru in the Pain Arc than the clan which is considered the strongest clan in the Leaf Village

Kid Neji is so much cooler than teen Neji. It's like Future Trunks and normal teen Trunks from GT.

We just needed 1 NAMED Hyuga Jonin. Just one, in the first part of the series couldve done a lot, maybe even have this Hyuga take Yamato's role during the part 2 arc where they were at the bridge. Effectively, they could've fulfilled the same role by blocking Naruto's chakra potentially Sadly, Kishimoto stopped any development for the Hyuga when he realized the Sharingan could solve every possible plot hole in the series

Giving Kaguya the Byakugan was a good last minute acknowledgement. But for one the "great clans" and the "crown jewel of the leaf village" there were a lot of failures narrative wise for how the clan completely fell of the table. I think the minimum would've been to have Neji at least be in proximity to helping Shikamaru fulfill the logistical and part time fighting side of the leaf village.

Surely with her parents having "died" himawari is living with grampa in the hyuuga estate, right?

Aside from Orochimaru, Neji was my favorite character

The biggest flaw to the Hyuga in my opinion is that they are a part of the leaf village, i think they would have been the best ninja clan in the show if they had been from the sand village. In universe the Hyuga limit themselves to mostly tijutsu , if they were puppet users they'd fix almost every limitation of that jutsu . They have the inherent ability to expell chakra from any of the 361 charkra points that means a really skilled Hyuga puppet master can run probably 100 or 200 without body modifications like sasori needed for his 100 puppet technique. The almost 360 vision would allow them to keep track of that many puppets with ease sasori the more puppets he lost the better he could focus on the ones remaining the Hygua wouldn't have that issue. Running gentle fist through the puppets would make them more dangerous on top of any weapons, and since they know gentle fist they aren't helpless up close like most puppet users. Plus if all thier puppets are destroyed they can then use the chakra threads as an extension of gentle fist. And since a skill puppet master can make their threads invisible think of the damage they can do. Just my opinion anyway

The crazy part is that Hiashi basically said the Hyuga are the strongest when the other strong clans, like the senju, uchiha, uzumaki and Sarutobi clans were all (mostly) 6 ft under. It's like getting first place in a test and you're the only participant. OF COURSE YOU'RE GONNA BE NUMBER 1, YOU DOOFUS!

Neji did get highlighted in the second chunin exam filler. It explained why he became jonin in the first place. He might not be the brilliant strategist like Shikamaru, but he he was shown to be smart in battle like Kakashi.

Hyuga not having any genjitsu was one of the weirdest things for them to be able to project chakra into other people while literally being able to adjust an opponents chakra points and project chakra into other people's body

I think the problem with the Hyuga Clan is that I don't think Kishimoto didn't know what to do with them after they fulfilled their purpose for both Naruto and the story. They almost seem to be stepping stone for the series.

Well Two Blue Vortex Manga with BORUGOAT is all about the badassery of the Uzamaki Clan and Uchiha 2nd.

His death is also just weird as it doesn't matter if you're low on chakra, he should've at least tried to do a palm rotation, given dying of completely running out of chakra is no less dead than impaled.

Neji was the best Hyuga member by far...Hinata, as an adult, could barely touch his childhood prowess. She wasn't "shaking the world of Jyuuken" like Kishimoto lamely and cheaply through in the databook. Neji was. Just bad cope writing, and Kishi trying to justify the fact that he wasn't smart enough to push NaruHina without removing Neji. Neji'd manga-cannon feats of speed, combat dexterity, visual insight, endurance, durability and chakra control were vastly beyond what he needed to survive the 4th Ninja War. He shouldn't have died, made 0 sense. And if he lived he would have been the best of the konoha 12, minus the main characters.

The worst part is the Hyuuga are suposed to be immune to ninjutsu and genjutsu they are able to cut ninjutsu and can see through almost any genjutsu yest its never shown

The problem I have with Hyuga is that the way they were set up. In OG Naruto they were set up to be Uchiha equal in prowess. But as the story progressed the Uchihas kept getting new forms while Hyuga just stagnated feeling like a C-List clan that happener to have a broken beginner Dojutsu. Which doesn't make sense because we later see that Byakugan is used by the strongest characters in Naruto History that aren't Hyuga. Like the Tenseigan that was used in the last or the previous other versions shown later. It gives off the impression the Hyuga were severely nerfed or just really sucked at getting the Byakugan to its fullest potential compared to an Uchiha.

Yeah it would’ve been easy to do more with the byakugan. Like the hyuga cursemark actually prevented the byakugan from evolving or gaining new abilities due to the suppression of their emotions or somn, Himawari and hanami can get kaguyas taijutsu or even tenseigan

The Hyuuga Clan is the closest to have direct link to the Pure Ootsutski celestial with Byakugan origin yet they were nowhere to be found in Boruto. Even Himawari is training under Team 10 instead of her family clan like they dont exist. She literally fight like normal shinobi without her Hyugas fighting style. I never have any expectations from Boruto because he's an Uchiha Wannabe with Naruto signatures move but now theyre also steering Himawari away from her clan and made it everything depends on Kuruma to stay relevant

Neji's Byakugan extended several kilometers in the manga, an absolute base starting point of 1.3 kilometers. It is a huge miscocneption that it only went 500-800 meters. And he located multiple small targets in that range, while Hinata only saw giant amateratsu flames from far away.

Main issue with the hyuga clan is that the Uchiha clan exists and is far cooler with much more to offer the story and plot.

The problem with it is that I think the Hyuga clan failing was that it was written in a shonen when the themes of slavery, classism and political sacrifice are more typically used in seinen. Still, they did do Neji dirty. He was a genius and they gave him a death that made him look stupid. Plus, it's not just the Hyuga. With the exception of the Uchiha and slightly the Uzumaki, barely any of the clans got any notoriety. Plus, it's a crime that Naruto's clan barely got touched on considering it's the clan of the MAIN CHARACTER for God's sake. How is that the deuteragonist's clan had practically half the show dedicated to it but the Uzumaki were barely touched? And while we're at it, why is it that in the beginning of the show, we were told of the heroism of the Fourth Hokage but there's barely any material for him in the show despite his sacrifice bringing forth the savior? So many things didn't happen that should have happened.

The Hyuga should have hinted at the lore of Hamura around the time Neji lost to Naruto. It could have pushed both Neji and Hinata.

Tbh Hiashi should've died saving Neji (with Neji protecting Naruto instead of Hinata), it would have been so much more significant to see him (the head of the clan) sacrificing himself for both a member of the secondary branch and his brother's legacy

They really missed out on the " only taijutsu work on Jyubi madara thing" sure the 8gates was cool but like the hyuga were also known for taijutsu. should've atleast use them for distraction then have Guy deliver the ultimate blow. Have Kaguya resurrected afterwards rather than being backstabbed by blackzetsu.

I know a lot of hate will rightfully be directed at how the Hyuga clan was wasted but really the hate should be directed towards Kishimotos world building across the board. He spent so much time setting things up as if they were going to be major plot points only to outright ignore them. I get it you can only follow up on so much and maintain the greater story but when dozens of clans and multiple villages get built up and swept to the wayside to accommodate his love for the uchiha it just screams terrible world building.

The Hyuuga clan is the definition of wasted potential. And even now, there is still things they can explore with Hamura, otsutsuki Hyuuga powers like the Tenseigan. They did with Naruto the Last but more could have been done.

Neji's death wasn't needed at all Naruto's character development could have been happen some other way because as we see about another 2-2.5 years Naruto still don't know shit about hinatas feelings I mean seriously the hell kishimoto was eating when he wrote that shit Naruto the last I understand when he was in Kyubi mode don't remember hinatas confession but when neji died he still could understand hinata was ready to die for him something that useless sakura could never do actually it's the other way round sasuke is my fav Character not due to his good looks but because how he treated sakura the right way we could gotten rid of her but thanks to Naruto stupidness she still alive to this day and her dieing or Kakashi dieing would have actually made more sense sasuke could have married Karin and their kid would still be a strong girl as future love interest for boruto and their offspring of boruto and that girl would be the most strongest kid 😂😂.

Byakugan is overrated

The best thing that can happen in boruto is for the series to get cancelled. Boruto is hot garbage. Every concept created in Naruto got significantly worse in boruto. Boruto just wakes up with new abilities that surpasses anyone in Naruto using some silly reason.
