I just now realized when I leave my house early morning and my dad is home w my mom I don’t lock the door, but when my mom is home alone I make sure I lock the door. There’s a sense of safety and secure when my dad is around that u don’t even think about, Wonder how this affects kids raised without a dad?

So funny you say that. I just realized I do a similar thing. I've I'm home I never lock the door, but when I leave my gf I always lock it.

Every dollar you spend on convincing men to be dads is a dollar you don't have to spend on police and jails. It's a win-win

Honestly, girls need dads, too. Bottom line is, boys and girls need both a mom and a dad to have a balanced upbringing and the best chance at life.

As a full time single father, I agree fully. My 2 youngest are "ok" and have bright futures. My oldest daughter who was a witness and was old enough to know the pain of the "loss" of their mother is struggling. I do my best to try and help their mom, I still won't put my kids nor myself through her personal battles. Bottom line, kid's need both parents. We as humans need to learn compassion and forgiveness as well. Sadly, compassion and forgiveness have been left behind.

I don’t know if you or anyone from your staff even reads these replies, but this is an amazing story about the difference between disciplining my son and not disciplining my daughter, and how they both turned out. I am a 55 year old divorced woman with a boy and a girl. My x and I got divorced when my son was 2 and my daughter was seven. We decided (for us, he is wealthy and supported me in the same life style as if we were married), we made a commitment to our children that we would have no blended families, no bringing home dates (do it on the weekends when one of us had the children), we always went to dinner together every Wednesday night as a family, took vacations together, all school meetings together, (sometimes, we even slept together, my x and I). I had the children Sunday thru Thursday and he had them on the weekends. He lived in a mansion with his parents who have live-in help (they also have a family business, so family was very important) and the kids were with their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins on weekends. I never put my life first, I would never meet a man, fall in love and live with or get married because I deserve to be happy (I would argue with my therapist that it was wrong to bring another man into the picture, they had a father and they didn’t need another one). My daughter, from day one, (she is 24 now, graduated from Univ of Colorado in Boulder majored in Psychology in May. She should of went right after graduation in September to Grad School, but she did not so far, she is working in a Nursery School for 12.00 hr and she thinks it’s important for her to find her happiness in a career, most of the time your not ecstatic about going to your job, most of the time. I let her do whatever she wanted from six months old when she would not put her snowsuit. I did not discipline her at all, she was my first child and I wanted to be a nice “mommy”, and it was easier giving in. She was a nightmare growing up, always had to have her way, smoked a lot of pot and somehow she did good with her grades, don’t know how she did that. She was never in a sport, if she was, she quit and I let her quit and to this day she really doesn’t take my advice or her father’s. She thinks she knows it all, and I guess we all did at 24. Now let’s get to my son since that’s what the show is all about (I hope you do not mind me writing a book here), but I experienced two different ways of raising a boy and raising a girl (disciplining my son, not my daughter, and how they both turned out). My x and I decided to do things different with raising my son, (they are five years apart). Actually, it was me who decided to listen to my x, he was right all along, I should of told her no and disciplined her. As my son grew up, he listened and if he didn’t, their would be consequences (no x box), so he knew right from wrong. He liked wrestling, so in third grade we put him into pee-wee wrestling. When my son was in fourth grade (around ten), we found out that he had some learning disability’s. He had no muscle tone in his writing hand, and he had trouble with conception and understanding (reading comprehension), they gave him PT and OT in school and pulled him out of his regular classes (which meant he was missing work and lessons). My x and I decided to get him extra help (never depend on the school, your kid will get lost along the way), so we hired a Special Ed Teacher who taught in a top school district for $100.00 an hr, who came Mon - Thur and helped him with his homework, tests and organization skills. We didn’t ask my son if he wanted a tutor or that it would be hard with going to wrestling practice, we told him he is getting a tutor and he didn’t even question it (you tell the kid, not ask him, that was the mistake I made with my daughter). Sad part is, if we didn’t have money to hire the tutor, I’m not sure he would of turned out the way he did. Money does help in life. My son was heavy at 10 and was not very good at wrestling, but he kept showing up, going to practice and trying his hardest. When he was in middle school (he was on the middle school wrestling team), the coaches never helped him in practice, they only focused on the kids that would be great in high school. So my x husband looked into extra help for him and found a Russian Olympic 2x World Champion wrestling club. I took him every night during the week and I would wait in my car till it was over. This Russian Coach’s style was not to allow the moms watching practice and to freak out in case they got hurt. When my was in eighth grade we decided to send John to a Private Catholic School. We had to hire another tutor for a special test to take to get into Catholic School (he had his regular tutor, special tutor, and wrestling practice). When we had out last IEP Meeting with the school and the school’s psychologist, he recommended we do not take John out of the public school system because they get funding for Special Ed and the Catholic School’s do not (which is true), but my x and I discussed this and we knew how hard John has always worked, and we still had a tutor for John. We went against the advice of the school’s psychologist and he went to Lutheran High School for 9th and 10th grade. When John was at the end of eight grade the Russian Wrestling School told my x and I that because John shows up every night, loves the sport and tries really hard, it will all come together and he will get really good in his high school years, he has great potential. My son came in First Place in States in 9th grade (Lutheran Private Hight School), where he wrested 9th and 10th grade. One day his Lutheran High was Wrestling a Boarding School in MA (because private schools wrestle other private schools). My x and I never heard of a Boarding School, we thought troubled children were sent away to boarding school. My x came home from the Tournament and told me how beautiful the school’s campus was, how prestigious the school was and he would like our son to go to a prestigious Boarding School. He asked my son if he would like the opportunity to go to a Boarding School, my son said yes, I would love to! He had to take a test (we hired a private tutor for him), plus, he still had wrestling and school work. He passed the test, went on five different interviews and he was accepted into three Boarding School’s. My son, my x, and I all went to all three schools to check them out and we decided what school was best for him, we picked the school that was rated A+ for academics. My son repeated 10th grade, because his birthday is the end of Nov and when your in sports that’s what the school recommended. He went away to Boarding School at 15 years old. After my x and I dropped him off at school, the next day my x husband had a stroke and lost a lung (he was in an induced coma for 73 days, and stayed in the hospital for six months.) The first week he was in the hospital, they didn’t know if he would make it, my x brother-in-law picked up my son from school and asked him if he would like to come back home and go back to his old school, and my son said, “no”, I know how much it meant to my dad me go to this new school and I know he would want me to finish. So my son stayed at school and he went back and forth on weekends till wrestling season started and he had to wrestle. At 15 years old he was wise beyond his years and was very close to his dad, they spend every weekend together from 12 to 15 (my daughter stopped going to her dad’s at 16), see the difference? A boy needs his dad in his life! Fast forward to now, my son was Captain of his wrestling team in his senior year, he came in 1st Place in Class A’s at 145, First Place in New England’s and took 5th place in Nationals. He has a banner in the gym with his name on it). My x husband did go to his graduation and that was a miracle, I took him and his nurses with his oxygen tanks and we did it, we watched him walk down the isle and get his diploma! My son was offered early decision into Trinity College, a NESCAC College, (Jesse Watters and Tucker Carlson graduated from their). He is wrestling for Trinity College, which is a NCAA School. My son’s essay into Trinity College, (out of all the Freshman’s), forty kids were selected, including my son, into the Prestigious Leadership Catalyst Program. He will intern for seven weeks with a Firm from Hartford (that’s where the school is located), also he will be helping out the community, by which he will start a youth wrestling league and he will receive $1,000 upon completion of the seven weeks. My son is majoring in Political Science and Minoring in Writing/Communications, they choose where you will intern depending on your major. My son received a letter offering him an internship from the Secretary of the State of CT, in the Capital. My son has been also interning for the Senator of CT, and the internship ended last week and the Secretary of the State of CT asked him if he would like to intern till the end of the school year in May, for which he said yes. That is what happens when there is a father in a boy’s life, and grew up with structure, discipline and love! Thank you for letting you share my story! Stacey H

Oh man, this was so good! My dad would wrestle on the floor with us kids every Saturday, since I was the oldest, and a girl ( well a tomboy), I was the one who got scolded for not kicking good old dad in the family jewels! I wasn't doing it intentionally, but hi point was, it's playtime, and roughhousing, but to have some self control! Father's need to do this with their children!

I can vouch for growing up without dad even though I've had one he's always been in my life my parents were split and he never made an effort to be a dad so I never had discipline never went to school was easy to skip my mom had to go to work and I just had to fight it for a couple minutes and then she would leave me go to work made my life a mess at 30 years old and finally starting to get stable point

Watched an interesting documentary on a herd of elephants that were partially moved from one sanctuary or reserve to another and it was adult female elephants and young female and Bull elephants and at the new sanctuary the young bulls became so aggressive that they were indiscriminately killing other animals and causing serious wounds and things like that. What the researchers did was they brought in the male adults and within an extremely short period of time the killings stopped and the young bull aggression was completely reigned in.

I know this too be very very accurate Growing up with no father Brought up with a shitty step father who molested my half sister Joined a gang Was in and out of juvi jail Moved out at 16 and have basically lived on my own since had a kid at 17 and got married but still struggled going to jail went to prison at 18 for 2 years drug use etc I was searching for love a father figure comfort a young man needs guidance especially during the adolescence stage it’s so so critical. They’re very vulnerable. Mother was young and weak. She didn’t get assistance tho I can say that she never chased my father for support although she kind of regrets it because it could have benefited better. I’m all over the place but at 30 I have my first daughter full time her mother is no longer in the picture. I’m married and had another girl 10 years later been with my wife 10 years. And I see now from my own experience and speaking with others like me a father is always something we lacked. Always u hear it a lot with gang members a lot. I’m still working out kinks from the trauma but I’m a fighter and have a fire to change things around. I’m not the most educated but I have common sense. No how to hustle and bust my ass working if necessary. I’m not saint but I’m not a bad person either. I’m a hopeless optimist. Things can be better but it most certainly starts with the youth. Thanks Adam!

My father died when I was 9 and my life became a wreck, it's not that my mother was a bad mother it was because she had to enter the work force in her 50's and I was left to my own devices and I went to hang out with the druggies and my life was a mess for 20 years. Then me and my girlfriend had a kid and I finally got help at 31 and life has been awesome. Me and my girl made a decision to have a child and we're going to start together and work shit out for the benefit of our child no matter how hard it gets.

Hey Brian I know you've probably been trying to convince Adam for quite a while that RU-vid is a big deal. Glad to see you guys are at it again you took yourself out of the game for a while.. not that this was the most interesting thing I've ever heard compared to Alex Jones and Joe Rogan which was ridiculous Alex Jones is an idiot or maybe not but that generated quite a few hits I don't always have time to listen to the podcast and I'm not fully aware of who's on the podcast. But I do check in the RU-vid from time to time and I'm always reminded of what Joe Rogan's doing and to be honest with you I listen to more Joe Rogan than I do Corolla these days. Only because I'm bombarded by different clips and segments. Not too much reaches me from you guys unless I go directly to the podcast I used to listen everyday now I miss a lot of stuff we need more ranting we need more intellectual we need more Corolla in our face. And when does the contract expire that says he can't make any more prank calls we need more prank calls or at least I do. Please consider changing the Aesthetics of the studio even though it's a video I can watch I don't have my eyes blue to it I find myself minimizing you two been going on Facebook but when I watch the Rogan Experience my eyes are glued some subtle changes would be nice we want to see what you're drinking what's on your desk we want to feel at home in your studio if I misspelled anyting or had run-on sentences blame it on the mangria which is now available at Total Wine where I live

What a weird thing to do your whole childhood, wrestle your friends all day. I played mostly basketball and football and baseball whenever possible. Having grown up mormon, where there is a basketball court in every church. Every day after school in middle school broke in to a church. When I say broke in, I mean one of of us would go through the window and open door for everyone else. The windows were locked, but one window just needed to be bumped with a basketball to loosen and drop the lock. Not to bore. Good times.

The entire bent of this conversation is so common sense. I don't claim a thing, but my niece and nephews are serious roughhousers. The weird part is that, when their mom tries to get them to do things like get ready for bed or come in for the evening, they ignore her, but as I (I'm an uncle, not the father) babysit somewhat often, they know I take no sh$t and they listen to me. E.g. Boy, you are going to bed. You are eating that hamburger before you get ice cream. There is no negotiation. I am the adult, I am in charge, the end. And wow...this guy's comment about the mom's flexible goal nefotiation is so accurate. Not half your peas. All of them. That may be part of the problem.

There ARE people who are standing up, Adam. Dad of 13 here and I'm telling you, this world/society is SCREWED UP when it comes to parenting. Dr. Farrell is 100% right---this is a choice. We as men, either choose to stand up and be what we were MEANT to be--leaders, protectors, mentors and FATHERS, or you don't. Just don't whine when the men decide you're not worth a barrel of spit and tell you to F!#@ off when you try to date our daughters.

I have an ex-wife, and a boy who lives with her. She runs me down to him, and her parents live in her house and are pricks, and run me down in front of him. He is being raised by a mom, and a grandma who hate men. (His grandpa is a mouse who doesn't talk mostly, and nods his head when asked) I try to get him to open up, and relax around me; He is closed up. He is starting to lie, and be a screw up in school (12 years old) and his mother is perplexed. She doesn't think I know what I'm talking about, and she doesn't think spending more time with me will help. I feel sorry for him. He is getting beat down. If he could spend 6 months or a year, just living with me and not under the influence or control of his momma, it would help him immensely. Fathers are needed, and you have to battle mothers for that position in our modern world (with courts deciding things) Mothers and fathers used to share responsibility, respect each other. Not any more. Not in my experience.

Question, Does a son do well if disciplined only by his mother or does he mostly need it from his father or a male figure of some sort. Like, is the fact he's being disciplined from his mother mostly or only, screw him up? Or is it the discipline alone that he needs? hope this makes sense lol.

Kids need a dad. Even if the dad is perhaps too strict, he still needs to be in the kids life. It can go the other way, where the dad won't be in the kid's life, or the dad actually is in the kid's life, but he is not assertive, and just lets the kid do whatever they want, and that dad is basically worthless. I had a very strict dad that was probably a little too harsh on me, but I am thankful for it, because I was an idiot kid, and if he wasn't so strict and overbearing, I would either be dead, in jail, or just some street urchin squatter in an abandoned house somewhere.

If the American government really wanted to fix this problem, they would incentivize marriage just like Hungary recently has. I don't think they want more people married, at least not the Democrats. People are easier to control on their own, and low birthrates give the Dems more reason to say we need to bring in 3rd Worlders as replacement population. All in all, they are working to destroy America. Every action they take is a negative to the future of our Republic.

Yeah I don't mind other points of view, it opens engaging dialogue. The problem I have is this weird disdain for Trump solely because people don't like the way he speaks. It's strange because they watch the same TV shows and movies I do, they read the same stuff all over social media, they see the same things in videos about our Society, but yet when the President relates to that world and speaks like he is in the same world as us it's a problem. They rather support politicians that live outside our world in their own protected bubble not able to relate to any of the normal people. They like to be talked down to? We have a guy here that can talk like he can because he doesn't have to rely on his political status to make a living after he leaves office. That is a great opportunity for all of us to slap Washington D.C. upside it's head to get woke.

Ugh. Yeah, I’ve been listening to ACS since day 1, and I’ve never warmed up to Bryan. He’s smug to the extreme. I’d like to like him, but he makes it impossible. I like Gina for the most part, but she is also clearly biased to the left (which most of his newsgirls tend to be). It’s annoying. Bryan and Gina are both young and a bit too smug for their limited life experience.

90 percent of males prisoners are from fatherless homes. I cannot verify this statistic I am seeing between 50 and 60 percent of the prison population. Can anyone help me out?
@ConnorDKimball
@ConnorDKimball 5 лет назад
Matthew Rowley he may be talking about a statistic that was found and reported on, but it’s over 30 years old. Data today is limited and pretty much only covers self-reporting from inmates. So hard to say how many of them had no father interaction at all, little father interaction, or technically had a father in the home but one who was absentee. So if you look at self-reported data it’s over 60% - which is still wild. But the actual number would probably be higher because some people probably report growing up with a father in the home if that role was only missing for the the most formative years or if they had a step-parent (non-biological parental figures are much more likely to abuse). But, if you were to add the inmates who reported having a father in the home, but one who spent time in jail themself or was physically abusive (and therefore failed in the fatherly roles he’s describing) that number goes up quite a bit.

as long as stupid people keep believing that conspiracies are crazy and impossible, this problem will only get worse and will never be solved. the traditional family must be destroyed so the state can slowly take more power. if people end up poorer, less educated, more mentally unstable, unhealthy, etc. etc., all the better because reliance on the state to provide will increase. how is this so hard to understand? every single major geopolitical event works towards this end.

I have to disagree with you partially on the "feminism" statement. The "First Wave" feminists were basically fighting for equal rights for all, not just women even though that was the main gist of the movement. These ones today are the "Third Wave" or as I like to call them "Feminazis" where basically being a male is bad in general and its the whole "let's be offended by eveyrthing even though the topics don't concern us, force females and diversity into media where mainly the diversity is uncalled for, and cry things like "Safe Space" and "Harassment" anytime an opinion is brought up that destroys my fragile little bubble of existence because the real world doesn't exist and I am the center of my universe"

i really hate hearing anyone, celebrity or even the smartest local mayor in a town talk about politics in the oval office level. It doesn't matter how much news you watch or how many books you read. If you were never in the deep end of the pool of politics in the d.c side of the spectrum, I think all your opinions are completely void...even if you do interview people, especially those who you think have more knowledge than you just cuz they are scholars that read more books and were never there, I won't say you're stupid, but I ask, why even have so much reverence for such pointless topics that only feed pointless endeavors?? but i do understand the desire to sharpen ones acuity to apply it to other facets of ones family/work life etc. Is that why we all discuss politics endlessly?
