This is a plead for your help!
My channel is just not working and I don't know why.
Its not getting the views I think it should. I think I'm doing everything right. I think my content is getting there and some of the photos are good, but I've watched other videos that I think are terrible and they are getting stupid amounts of views. I must either be doing something wrong or I am just boring and I am over estimating myself. This video is a little plead for your help, in helping my channel grow. I need youtube to push my videos out more, I need to gain more views.
I have included a handful of some of my favourite shots of the summer, that I havent shared. Its a bit of a mish mash of a video as there wasnt anything to take photos of on my actual day out!
I have been messaged a few times in the past asking, "Do I use presets?, which ones do I use?, do I make and sell my own?"
I've put together a massive preset & workflow package at a stupidly low price. I for one would never pay over £10 for 5-10 presets, So I've created a "MASSIVE" Collection of tools, presets and a processing workflow, for just £10.

I like the fact you keep it real warts and all, it's a fact most birders have those frustrating visits where it's dead. I'm a member of a couple of clubs, like you, the WMBC. But I've not been to Ladywalk and only twice to Middleton lakes. I'd love to see the routes you take or recommend in these places, an overview of where to go once inside. You are well qualified to perhaps show or talk about your settings and walk through of your RAW pics, post edit and final result. It's true, a lot of birding channels do not have the quality of photos as yours. That must tell you something. Keep positive, keep being you!

I understand your pain my channels going no where ive recently just started to add thumbnails but those videos aint been uploaded yet as i have a back log of videos ive subscribed to your channel 👍

Its really hard, a year ago things were going great, almost at the point of being monetised, then it just went downhill. Thanks for the Subscription!

Thats great, thank you so much for the feedback. I have been having a bit of a moan about the channel lateley, but have some new fresh ideas that may put a little spark into it. Thanks for the support.

Hi Marc. You always seem to be at the same place. Try some different venues maybe. Do your presets work with Affinity?

Totally agree, but often I dont have the time to go to other places and unlike many other full time youtubers, I have another job and time is often against me. BUT I agree! I'm lazy and really need to try new places. I will try and make an effort to go to new places in the future. My presets were designed in Lightroom, they are saved in the LR format, not sure if affinity uses the same style of file. I think there is a way, but im not 100%.

Hi Marc, I don't think you liked what I said last time, so I won't revisit that, but I'm going to refer you to a RU-vid video by a bird photographer that I have followed for years - Duade Paton, an Australian. This video is about being a successful RU-vidr, and it includes a comment about the importance of the title and thumbnail. His own video title thumbnails nearly all include his own photo. His video that I refer to is called "I Had Surgery, So Let's Answer Some Questions". Hope that helps.

Thanks for the feedback. With regards to not liking what you said before, you are wrong. I appreciate all the comments and feedback you left and definately will take it on board. Some of the points I agree with 100% but as many others have messaged me and said they like "The fact I keep it real, moans and all", makes me want to keep some aspects of my original style as the majority of youtubers dont include this, and make everything look all "sunshine and rosey" and easy. I have watched countless youtube videos explaining the algorithm and ways to improve my views, I've tried them all and for me it has no effect whatsover. Moving forward - I have some ideas to "better" my content, which as you previously mentioned, will show settings, techniques ect. But at the moment as there is close to nothing about, its very hard. Also as I have said before, I am currently playing catchup, so the videos I have just released and the next 5 or 6 were recorded months ago, so they will not show any of my new ideas and your ideas. I'm at the end of caring about how the channel performs and caring if I get more recognition, I think Im going back the the old mindset, of thinking "these videos are just a diary of my progression", that being said, I will "better" the content, or at least try. Once again I really appreciate your support of the channel and your input.

Marc, you self doubt about your 'qualification' to teach others is unfounded. When I watch your vlogs I see shots that I wish I could take. It isn't a lack of the right kit that stops me, but something else - mayabe you have that secret ingredient to better shots, and you could show how you go abut the process. As for thumbnails pehaps one of your shots in the vlog with your face placed in the corner somewhere? If the shot looks good people may well tune in. Sometimes I click on a vlog just because the thumbnail looks nice. I've also discovered channels that I follow via RU-vid Shorts so maybe you should post a few shorts to see if they attract any new viewers. I hope your son got good A level results!

Really appreciate the feedback! I guess I should just suck up the "imposter syndrome", I seem to be carrying and go for it. As I will explain, I don't class myself to be no "pro", but if I am able to give any advice, be it good or bad, that will help someone else, I'm all for that!
