Wasn't really made then! This album... Is etched in so many movies and shows... So many of the songs - it's insane! First Matrix wasn't even a tip of the iceberg... I can't even images how many hours I've listened to this whole album... Over and over... Nothing is like it... Crosses every genre... And solid about! Not a fake put on or some head trip!
i remember as if it was today... being 12 years old going to school on the bus and listening to "music for the jilted generation" when it came out on cassete.
this album still like nuclear weapon of electronic music scene, every track is absolutely mind-blowing from start till end, RIP Keith Flint you are in my heart forever.
This album, Daft Punk's Homework and The Chemical Bros Dig Your Own Hole all came out in '97 We had no idea how lucky we were at that time! Love this still!
Это легендарный альбом "The fat of the land" 1996 года...

I remember back in the day, my dad couldn't find this album in a record shop. One day I managed to find it in a car boot sale for 50p. Never seen him happier 👍
I listened to this album almost nonstop back when it came out, I think I was 11 or 12, loved that segue, now almost 3 decades later I’m listening to this album blazed as hell and that Naryan>Firestarter just blew my mind. This is an entirely different experience from when I was an grungy little 6th grader.
oh yes i remeber I was the one who had parents cool enough to let us organize our own "raves" in their garage, strombinoscope, smoking machine and a lot of braces and perky tits!
My uncle used to blast this when I was young and he always had massive stereos in his cars and house and he still does to this day everytime I'm with him it's so nostalgic
Geaaah! You really made me feel old! I remember playing trhis in the background while my friends and I played Jet Moto... On the PS1. OK, I just made myself feel old. Nevermind
You made me take drugs, thank you! haha i survived and when I look back I realize, I would 'nt want to have missed any of it!! The 90 's were the best years of me life. 1love
I don’t know about you guys but this whole album is great workout music, before the prodigy I couldn’t even bench 70 pounds but after this album I can lift 150 no problem. Take advantage of this album for it is powerrrr
haha I was SO close to become 2D in a consert when they were touring after the release of this album...the whole crowd were trying to reach the fron line before it startet, and sudenly everyone at the very front falled from the insane pressure..the gap closed in an instant, and Keith came out on the scene.. I'm stuck under so many feet.. and he shouts "JUMP!" x) I think I owe my life to someone.. I only barely remember a hand pulling me up, and I was almost naked from my clothes being ripped off on the floor. But the concert was insane! one of the best! :D
Holy shit Wipeout. My mate worked away and I looked after his big ass telly, PS, Wipeout and Resident Evil. That damn dog and Wipeout tunes living rent free.
Really really great Album... but don't forget "more music for the jilted generation". That Album is a masterpiece for me ... reminds me of the wildest time in my life
And yes. Wild. I was 14 taking strong acids and smoking weed like a chain smoker smokes cigs, which I smoked as well. And drank beer. And skateboarded. At night, graffiti. And ilegal tekno parties.
This album was life changing for me ...it was made cos they wanted to make it ...but do t think they intended on bringing so many ppl together in the 90's with the same idea ..RIP Keith....you guys got me through my teens!
1997 was one of the greatest years ever for all kinds of music.🎶❤️ This gnarly classic is rught up there with the best.🥰👌 Seeing them at Manchester G-Mex that summer was hilarious.👊🙌😁
This one brings me back to my childhood.. Stumbeld over this on youtube and still have this album lying around somewhere. Bought it when I was like 14 or so... Good memories..
What an album. Britain really does produce some talent. I'm also loving other various UK electronica based acts like Faithless, Burial, Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Unkle, Autectre, Massive Attack, Orbital, Leftfield, Stereo Mcs, The Streets, Goldie, The Bug, Allflaws
This thing is a walking, talking Underground Dance Party, every song is super infectious and it continues to draw you in, right through the entire playlist. HA, looking through the comments, it doesn't matter whether 'young or old', new or longtime, I love that it still hits like a friggin sonic shotgun to the head, this is a seminal work, and now in hindsight, a delicate moment in time. RIP Keith
i'd argue Funky Shit is a very filler song. But that's just imo. Album is still one of my favs and one of all time greatest in electronic music history
@@thepro5102 No one can prove you wrong cause it's music after all not science, but for what it's worth I can give you the perspective of someone who has produced music for a while. Funky shit is very very far from being a filler song.
Im 52 and i absolutely remember when this song came out.. am i the only one that hears Indian(the country)vibe when she holds those long ass notes. One of the best from back in the day!!! My
This was a truly complete masterpiece with timeless bangers. They’ve never come close to replicating it, nor has anyone else. I wonder what forces these artists to peak in their twenties and never improve? Success? Drugs? Alcohol?
peak hormone levels tapping into forces beyond this world. that's why you see them off themselves at 27, where you biologically transition to an "adult" if you want it or not.
First album I ever bought. Saved my money all summer to buy the tape at 9 years old after seeing the ‘breathe’ music video make its rounds. Still sounds great 25 years later!
Me too, I was 14 and just got a walkman for my birthday and bougth this tape asap. Until this all I had was recorded tapes from my older friends albums.
In those years electronic music was not jus music, was like a deep conjunction of souls, raver, producers, dj's around the world. It's hard to explain what I mean, just who live that could understand, really
Flashes me back to a better time when I was only 10 , and still in my top 5 albums now . Thank you brother for introducing me to this back then . R.i.p Hamish Keith ross forever 24
This album is my number 1 snowboard album. Both day and night. So Beautiful. Ski resorts be just one setting where I listen to. Prodigy is Phenominal. Wish I could a caught Ya Live. Long Live Keith Flint. Long Live Prodigy. 💙🤙
Smack My Bitch Up is so iconic for me as it is used in the absolutely amazing AMV for, The Monogatari Series, the video is called, Reality Rotation, look for the one that's like from 10 years ago.
