The PROFESSIONAL difficulty is NO Joke in Resident Evil 4 Remake 

I beat the game yesterday. This game is inexplicably amazing. It's been a while since I've enjoyed a game so much, that I restarted the story on a harder difficulty as soon as I beat it, because usually I wait for a bit. I'm having the kind of fun I had as a kid. I hope more game developers take note of this that it's about FUN, not milking every dime out of your fanbase. This is how you keep people dedicated to your games.

Tips and tricks, 1: Area zones (opening /pushing animation) = enemy reset. You can cross it, wait a few seconds and they will return to their spawn points allowing you to get a clear path to go back try and collect stuff or sneak up and kill them if they lose agro. 2: you can run up behind enemies and assassinate them (no need to crouch and sneak) without them turning around or alerting others even if they yell as you do the animation. 3:Crouching before an enemy grabs you causes them to miss even if they collide with you, and you do not lose momentum. 4: If an enemy tries to punch, grab you then you can parry and it rips their arm off. rip both arms off and they die instantly no special infected. 5: kicking an enemy who gets stuck in a trap = ripping their leg off = instant kill. 6: if your knife has the durability or you have spare knives stunning an enemy allows you to get behind them and instant kill them with the knife. 7-1: (Professional difficulty) There is a route you can take through the village at the beginning that you can repeat 3-4 times and wait out the time without shooting once or healing if you are good at dodging. (can use 2 grenades you find in village to help if you need to. 7-2: on lower difficulties you can end the village section at the start early if you group up the enemies and use grenades... Run through the center of the village to get their attention and run inside the house that starts the cutscene. skip the loot on first floor. Run up the stairs. Shoot the glass with the grenade. Collect shotgun and grenade. Skip the ammo on the bed and jump out the window onto the roof. Toss the grenade at the villagers killing 4-8 of them. equip shotgun and run into the house across from the one you jumped off from. Shotgun the lady inside and run past the man, equip the pistol as you run through the door and shoot the barrel in the corner to get the second grenade. Pick it up and jump out the window. If you were quick enough turn to the center of the village and there will be a huge mob. Toss grenade and kill all/most of them. If done correctly the bell will ring and village part done. Proceed to speed run or run around and collect everything. 8: If you aren't speed running...The chainsaw guy in ch 2. can be killed. Stealth kill all the enemies until you reach him. Do not trigger the bear traps. When he starts coming after you turn around and shotgun the the enemies that spawn in and run up at you. Proceed to run the chainsaw guy through ever bear trap down there. Knife stab twice then melee, rinse repeat. Crouch under the rigged explosive once all beartraps are used and let him walk through it. Proceed to run him through every bear trap on your way to the back of the house. He will die on the second to last beartrap or the last one. 9: Going through the village and avoid the wolves. If you looted the village earlier you don't need to stick around any longer than you need to. Run through the center of the village until the tower gets blown up and then hang a right. Go through the tunnel on the left that's uncovered now. Stealth kill the one enemy between you and the door on the other side. You can proceed without firing a single shot. You can pick up the treasure if you have a key later when you come back through with Ashely. 10: After you get Ashely. If you want to loot everything once you get out of the church, you will probably spend more ammo than you'd get in return or money for. If you stealth kill the lady by front of the church then you can wait in the corner on the left and the two enemies will walk by and not notice you. From there you can run through the graveyard and just run past all the enemies, you won't get hit 9/10 times and you won't need to fire a single shot. Once you go past the shop keep and get back to the village go through the tunnel again. Stealth kill the guy down there. Once back out, run up the hill to the shed. Be careful because there is an enemy that paths around it. Stealth kill this one as well. Once done jump the fence and go around the back path by the entrance to the village. Wait for the enemy pathing along the right side of the village to turn his back. Run up and stealth kill him. Boost Ashely into the warehouse and let her unlock the door. Run inside quick and loot. If you get caught do it fast and run back out. Run to the next house with the other treasure if caught, if not sneak the long way and loot. Then jump through the window and up the ladder to your left, run down the now broken scaffolding. Pull out shotgun to stun/kill the last two guys between you and the door to the next area. 11: on the house defense section its on a timer after you block all the windows. Strat for every difficulty... Board up the window on the left where you start. Push the book case in front of the other window. collect everything on the first floor. Team up with Luis to shoot anything trying to get into the only free window. (Very easy on normal and the assisted mode, more difficult on hard, very difficult on pro.) No need to be frugal with ammo, if you run out of pistol ammo Luis will toss you 20 rounds every time you get near him and interact with him, so stick close to him. (If you're confident then you can sell all your pistol ammo before this to get extra money. Luis will keep you stocked. Save small resources and gunpowder so you can stock back up after this part) The second window you need to board up is the middle one, more enemies will come in through that one than the one by the stairs. Once you board up the last window there are two strats, both are effective. 11-1: If you have plenty of ammo, stay at the bottom of the steps and defend until the big guy breaks in. 11-2: If low on ammo stay at the top with Luis. kick down both ladders and then stay by the one near the outside where you can still see the other window. Kick the ladder near you whenever it comes up and shoot whoever comes up the other, ask Luis for ammo as needed until the big guy breaks in. Once the big guy is inside you can kill him easily on lower difficulties after he's dead proceed with pro difficulty strat as follows... Pro: Pull out your shotgun and only shoot whatever gets close to you or to clear a path as you jump down to the first floor and then go back up the ladder inside or run up the stairs. Use grenades as needed if you have them until the cutscene triggers and the ordeal is over.

I couldn’t agree more. Professional mode is absolutely absurd on every level. Gamers don’t want to lose their sanity beating a game especially if it’s a requirement for a trophy. I’m sick and tired of devs thinking the more they irritate us the happier we will be. Whoever decided to make the game so damn difficult needs to get knocked tf out. A challenging game and a game that drives your head up the wall are two entirely different things

For everyone saying about shooting the bell. You can't with a pistol, for weapons bullets only travel so far before disappearing.

What I’ve learned so far on my professional play through is to only parry projectiles. I try to keep the most distance as possible because more often than not I mess my parries up when they’re in my face lmao

To answer your question regarding whether you can speed up the village fight when you 1st meet Dr.Salvador - Yes, you can. If you go to the spot in the main house where the jewel is on the roof ( the usual spot alot of players go to to funnel enemies in that fight ) you can aim at the actual bell tower across the map and trigger the bell scene almost immediately on starting the fight. I just tried it myself after watching that and can confirm it works. This game is amazingly built for speed running lol.

You can speed it up , just when u get inside the house and collect stuff as fast then just take the nade and jump on the window on the left side when u get up the one sided with the grenade locker then fast look down near the door and u find around like 10 of them with one nade u get them all and i notice if u get like around ish kills the bell ring , and u can aswell make the ring bell by ur self by jumping on the right window and look further there is a churche its hard to hit it but if u manage they all leave as if the bell rang by it self

My favorite part of this game is the fact that there are no s after parrying!!! It’s so fun to parry an enemy than get instantly stuck in a five hit combo killing you without being able to literally do anything!! :D

Capcom pulling a "Village Of Shadows 2.0" and then locking an item behind completing it on New Game without any bonuses was a real dick move.

After the download I immediately played on Hardcore I died so much beat it after 2 days of 4 sessions and man I love the game so excited again...Sad I beat it already

i started professional because i want the handcannon, only to realise.. how am i gonna learn to parry when the hud doesn't show unless you aim 👁👄👁 i personally feel like the perfect parry thing is what makes re4 remake on professional hard and they should possibly make it so the window to get a parry is extremely small, instead of perfect parry only on professional. the twin garrador's/ the water section ( not the part ashley is doing the platforms, mostly getting the crank to get up to that part) the sewer section ( as long as you learn the bosses attack patterns you'll be fine, , save your ammo you will need it unless you want the money and the treasure, and the path to sadler are the hardest parts ( the first part being the first run with the heli being the hardest of the chapter, then the last door before you get ashley being the second hardest of the chapter.. resource management is a must. once ashley has the knight armor you're fine, it's only the parts i mentioned that prove challenging, if any one has any tips for the harder parts, leave them here i'm sure alot of us will need them 😁 When fighting krauser, you can save a tone of ammo if you knife fight him(don't know if melee does more dmg to him) but of course on professional that's gonna be difficult.. When he climbs onto the rocks for his slam attack, you can climb the ladders to avoid it entirely

It was significantly easier in RE8 to get infinite ammo for pretty much all the weapons. In RE4R getting the Cat Ears require an S+ ranking on Professional within 5 hour 30 minutes is insane. You basically have to know the whole game by memory. I'll most likely not go for the Cat Ears but will play a few playthrough to get 2 Mil for the infinite rocket launcher. I'll be burnt out of this game if I grind too much.

just to help make the village go faster, you can shoot the bell off in the distance, if you go through the right window facing the shotgun, take another right and you'll see a tower off in the distance covered by some trees, just shoot at where you would think the bell is and soon enough it will ring

I have way too much stress in my life to go after the cat ears right now haha I'll just enjoy the game for fun, for now

This remake is just masterpiece just as the original.

Playing through professional on NG and reaching verdugo in 3hrs i genuinely think the village part of the game is probably the hardest, even in the castle a lot of sections force you to take damage which sucks but at least my handgun is fully maxed out. Pro tip buy the riot shotgun asap

So far going for s+ professional has basically just been speedrunning, so you're right about that point.

Apparently no one got S+ yet on Pro on the internet and I’m stuck in the castle it’s so hard. 😭

After many runs through NG+ getting almost all achievements I tried to run for S+ on pro. Just trying to get though the village was a mess. Starting a new save file fresh even with the sweeper and bonus knife The 5 hour and 30 min 15 save limit broke me. I started to panic and at that point I'm done. Prob come back some other time a try again. Hats off to yall who get though it. 👏

The grabs are my only annoyance with professional. It just seams like they took away half of their weapons so they could all running at 90 mile per hour to catch you.

a tip for you. In the house where is shotgun go outside of the window and then shoot at the bell and all villagers will retreat much faster rather than waiting until time expires.

FYI the guy trying to break into the cellar you can run up on and sneak attack

I wish I could find some tips or guides for beating professional mode from scratch. Everywhere I see crap about beating on NG+ or using skips and stuff. Maybe I'm searching in the wrong place but I'm definitely not seeing much info on beating professional from a new game.

I wish there were more challenges that weren’t just catered towards speedrunning but professional difficulty is so much better than the village of shadows bs from re8. It actually takes a reasonable amount of damage to kill one enemy instead of 30 shots!

Do ganados/zealots/militants drop more ptas on hardcore/pro?

stagger and kick, i utilize those so much in the original, it gives room when you surrounded, plus you are invulnerable when doing it, and it save ammo too, what a great time, dont have time to play the remake, probably later

the very genius developers did on original RE4 is the game difficulty adjust how good you are the more you survive the more game getting harder

This mode is hard for sure but tip for the village, they’re faster on professional which means they group up quicker, group em, flash. Grenade, dumb everything and pray 🙏 that bell goes off. I’m going to go through the game a few more times and learn everything before I attempt this.

Im surprised you skip so many fights. I killed the Chainsaw dude and the bull guy, cleared pretty much everything. Im now at the point where you can buy the sniper. Sure, you kinda have to cheese everything by bunkering yourself on roofs or in rooms with only one entrance, but its pretty doable.

You can shoot the bell tower to end the village fight off the bat.

Idk for me there's a ton of stuff that is bad. For being a military person, the animation of the villagers having to turn you around. Having to either button mash or hold it when the original you can shake them off. No that's made into an animation. Stun lock, downgrade to the plagas and pretty much all the cutscnese that made this game a thrill heavy experience and they only give me just enough ammo to possible deal with the situation and no ammo restock once upgraded. It's like they wanted to you to only play hc with infinite ammo

I've been playing the game since it released and going through pro mode with game+. Because boy oh boy, I could never get to where I am now. But the difficulty is still hard. It's a more classic game style with saving points, which is fine. However, I find the game allows the enemy to do more than they could from the old game. Might be me. Also, the camera movement isn't as quick as the og. Again, maybe it's me. Maybe because I'm on PS5. Then again, it may be that everything moves more quickly. Idk. The charms, I like them. I like that you can change your cache case to increase your chances for ammo or resources. Really like the shooting range with the tokens and scattered around the game. I like that it stays to the core of the original game. I think of this every time. There should be proof that the game can be beaten on the hardest difficulty. Because dude, you'd get hit and not even back up and punched again without doing anything.

I just got the game, and I'm so excited. It is quite a bummer that they nerfed the accuracy of the Red9 and broken butterfly, but they do so much damage.

While I do like challenges actually being challenging, I can’t help but think they only made the requirements for things like infinite ammo so difficult just so they can sell you an unlock key later on.

Awesome game but I prefer the OG professional difficulty, at least for me, it hit the right spot between fun and being hard. I think the Hardcore difficulty is the closest one to the OG Professional.

What is the best preparation for an S+ run on Professional? I'm hearing conflicting information about exactly what I'm allowed to use and not allowed to use for the S+ rank to count. So let's start with 15 Saves and less than 5 hours and 30 minutes. OK. I've heard you can use the accessories you unlock from different modes like the Knight's Armor for Ashley. Great! Now what about the Chicago Sweeper? If I upgrade that completely and get the infinite ammo, can I then use that weapon towards the S+ rank pro run? Can I use the Infinite Launcher? Or am I stuck solely with no infinite ammo anything and at the mercy of what the game gives me? And of course, no NG+...

I wouldn't recommend playing this difficulty unless you have at least one weapon with infinite ammo. The game gets really stingey with ammo, especially when you make it to the island towards the end.

Hardcore seems harder tho

When he jumps at you you do not have to wait 3 times stand by that blue barrel you only have to wait until he jumps twice at you I watch one of your videos before you said you're trying to become a speed runner that's going to slow you down a little bit

They need to fix professional. I’m in the most rng fucked gameplay that I physically can’t beat the game because the rng is just broken. No ammo. Health. Or fucking anything

so would you say dont try professsional as your first playtrough? I know lot of community reviewers who suggest that and sure I get more hours for the game so I am up for it if there is proper reason. I just dont wanna play the game as re veteran palying 2 and 3 remake as hardest difficulty than I go unchallenged so to speak.

!Attention! Professional Mode is not meant to be played without New Game+ gear. There is a reason its not available in your first playthrough because its unbalanced. There will be encounters later on where you will run out of bullets with your non ugraded weapons because you dont have enough money because you cant kill the trashmobs to get pesetas/ammo because you dont have enough ammo to kill them in the first place. Dont play it like this because it will squeeze all the fun out of the game.

I'm not a fan of the enemies JUST APPEARING out of nowhere. When you look forward then take a super quick glance back then immediately look forward again, theres an enemy. I wish it took actual time and distance for the A.I. to get to you. That would be 1 of the 3 things I dont like in this game.

It's not no joke. It IS a joke, a sad joke, the troll kind of joke. Capcom failed, this is way over the top, specially the beginning, the village fight and facility with all these dynamite bastards it is the definition of unfair. I beaten it, but i saved my game 77 times and died so much i lost count, the beginning is a freaking nightmare and i seriously regret i inflicted this to myself. Capcom, MAKE A PATCH !

Professional mode is unplayable if you are going for that s+ rank… enemies rarely stagger, they are much more faster, hit harder, throw more accurate. Ammo rarely spawns along with healing items. You can’t fight a 1v1 let alone an entire group of infected. There’s too many instances where I get caught in a hall and there are 5 or 6 enemies I know will kill me and there’s nothing I can do about it. The devs need to rebalance this. Hard doesn’t mean impossible, it means challenging like more health on enemies not that we can’t stun them. On top of that we have an even shorter window to parry and can’t block attacks… this mode honestly sucks…

Wth is Leon wearing and why did Capcom think fans would like it?

The only thing that’s hard for professional mode is the 15 save if they took that out it would be way more doable tbh.

Not to mention.. I don't wanna wear cat ears 😂.. tf? That's more of a " assisted" garment perk.. It's not worth the rage that you will put yourself through.. Now the only redeeming quality is the Chicago Sweeper u start off with . But still it cost alot money to fully upgrade to turn it infinite.. Your gonna die alot before that happens.. Then your gonna half to sell all your weapons.. probably..

From what I’m seeing, this difficulty is kind of rigged against you. Beyond getting unlockables, I don’t think it’s a functionally enjoyable way of playing this game.

It’s crazy how people make pseudo rules when it comes what make playing professional authentic. The only rules that count all the rules Capcom makes when they put it in the game.

SPOILERS. Bro to get 5 hours for S+ in Professional it took me 17 hours. It was just total bullshit all the way from the middle of chapter 8 until the end. The worst part is you only get 1 rocket launcher in Professional which blows ass. Every time you die you have to quit and reload or it adds to your time its pretty insane man. Dude I swear chapter 15 was 40 minutes of my run since I didn't know I couldn't buy multiple rocket launchers I had to fight my way to the top of the tower and use the machine gun turret to kill the turret thats shooting at the helicopter which took 500? 600 rounds? So you had to shoot stop kill some dudes shoot stop kill some dudes like 5 times. Think it took me 4 or 5 hours easy just dying over and over and over. I guess I suck lol. Edit: I did chapter 15 again because it gave me a lot of trouble and I found out you can blow up the big turret with 1 grenade and 1 heavy grenade just make sure the grenades land inside the thing or it won't work. Saves a ton of time.
