The Professionals - Bodie & Doyle "Bloopers"

There are no outtakes on any of the Pros DVD's.
Reason why must be the need to keep shooting film, no matter what mistakes happened.
Retakes must have been costly thirty years back, so they kept going on filming.
As far as I know there are only three 'real' outtakes (why they don't appear on the DVD's is a mystery to me).
So watch out the eps for more bloopers, there are plenty of them ;)
I collected some and hope you enjoy!
Note: I (unfortunately) don't own the lads. All rights are reserved to those entitled and not me. This is a completely non-profit fan-made video created for entertainment purposes only

It occurs to me Lewis Collins was a master of reaction. His non-verbal stuff reacting to other people's lines was spot on.

Like I said - the man could act with his face and his (navy-blue) eyes. Wonderful actor. XxX

Martin Shaw refused to give his blessing to showing repeats in the 90's and this was financially devastating for his two co-stars who weren't doing as well as he was by then. Shaw comes across as a lovely bloke but that was cruel and unnecessarily precious.
@bobrew461
@bobrew461 4 года назад
Lewis Collins described him as "...an ac-tor..." in one interview I saw many years ago. Shaw was doing well onstage as Elvis in the mid '80s, and did not want to be reminded of The Pros, even though he wouldn't have got the theatre work without it. The court injunction he took out to stop repeat had been challenged unsuccessfully a few times. But it wasn't until someone told him that Gordon Jackson's widow needed money from the repeat fees, that he finally lifted his injunction.

@@bobrew461 It makes me feel sad and I wonder why he dislikes the programme so much. I really think it's one of the best shows ever made.

tbf, when he was told Gordon Jackson's wife was struggling financially, he immediately gave his blessing to repeats.

Scott Bowie In 1982 he auditioned for the role of James Bond, but his audition with the producer Cubby Broccoli did not go well and he was rejected as being "too aggressive". Collins regarded this in hindsight as a key missed opportunity in his career.source wikipedia

Timothy dalton was fairly aggressive, licensed to kill was the only james bond film to be rated 15

@joanhammond1217 7 лет назад
Tim was 25 years before his time. Then, people didn't like him playing Bond the way Daniel Craig plays him now. He was the first Bond to make the character a real human being, not just an escapist caricature. Of course Lew would've made a good Bond, perhaps as good as - but not better than- Tim. I always loved them both. And still do. Oh - and Tim did most of his own stunts, too...

My fave bit is at 0.58 on the boat with Marty.......Lewis' facial expressions are great.......the nonchalence when he says "it doesnt do ours much good either".....so well delivered and natural. And when he says "we'd like it back" too. Great scene this.....would love to see more clips.

Great video. I think I've seen every episode, but I'm watching them on tv now when I get home from work. It's such an impressive programme. Really well written. The stunts and action are sensational. Gritty as hell, and I mean sometimes shockingly savage actually. The acting is top notch but Gordon Jackson really stands out as first class. He was a truly class act.

I still love watching it 40 years later as the 80s were the best days of my life and in 100 lifes we could never have the experiences of fun we had in the late 70s early 80s wish I could go back coz life and tv of 2020 is crap.

I used to enjoy this series in the early 80's (when they were showing it on late nite tv, in my country) and i still enjoy now! Especially the interaction/banter between Doyle/Bodie/Cowley. Yes, I do think Lewis Collins would have made a great Bond and Martin Shaw was super hot then and now, as Insp. Gently.

Every time I watch this, I thank God that Lewis was quick enough and strong enough to hang on to that railing whilst dangling 60 feet above death... And that Martin was quick and strong enough to help haul him up. Lew nearly died at 37 , not 67.Yes, a fantastic 'stunt'. But it wasn't a stunt, was it? No wonder he sounded a bit panicked! With reason! RIP Lew.

Thanks, JAHNO71! Will keep on adding as something new occurs... Have you watched "NAAFI interview with Lewis and Glynn"? You'll see a LONG example of Lew (not acting, just being Lew...) being unable to control laughter. It's hilarious. And I commented on that, too. Enjoy! 😁

JAHN071 - I giggle all the way through it, but the still at the end, with Lew laughing, and the caption "In Loving Memory" always brings a tear to my eye... Now try "Lewis Collins The Real Inspector Hound"" This is Tom Stoppard the playwright taking the mick out of a certain kind of play - and critics; and Lew MERCILESSLY taking the mick out of a certain kind of acting. And as you say, doesn't take himself too seriously... In the words of this era, it's a hoot! Again, look at the comments... Did you read my comments on the Lewis/Glynn interview? Love, Joan XxX

I found a RU-vid channel that has most of the episodes uploaded so I have been watching them the last couple of months. I remember one episode where Doyle managed to magically switch cars. They showed him taking off in a hurry in one car, the next shot was him arriving in a completely different one.

Lewis WAS 2 inches taller than Martin, so your reasoning is flawed! I remember reading that Lew, though only 5'11", could lift a much taller man by the lapels.
