I remember awhile back you did a run down of how you run equipment, and there’s typically two settings and you run on the one that most don’t like using, watching this video you run the skid same way I do so that means everyone else is the weird ones in my book 😂

It's an excavator thing. There's ISO and and SAE. As is pretty common, ISO is what most of the world uses, SAE is mainly used in the US.

Compaction tester is radioactive. Density moisture and depth. Usually a lift consists of 12” per lift.

We started a job about 45 minutes away from us and it's very sandy there. Based on the proctor on file, we hit 118% compaction. 🤣 Even the spots where we didn't hit with the sheep's foot, we hit over 100%. The guy took a sample to get us a new proctor. Right now, we're waiting for the aggregate pilings guys to do their thing before we go back.

Oh, and as a truck driver for our company, I can get away with not wearing a hardhat quite often. Just the other day I was at our Starbucks job and the super yelled at our head operator for not wearing a hardhat as soon as he got out of his pickup first thing in the morning. I got there not long after and didn't wear a hardhat. Even spoke with the super as we talked about the retention pond. Super never said a word to me. The state job we're doing, same thing. The super never gives me shit either. I guess it's a perk of being a truck driver.

@@addamochs I was the guy delivering material at a government job Corp job always checked inside my truck and trailer before leaving and entering. The super at the beginning got on me everytime for no hard hat. Finally I go c'mon let it slide I'm just dropping the material and leaving and I'm not even dropping the material where they were even actually working. What was even more annoying was the staff and kids for job Corp would walk by where i dropped the material obviously without a hardhart or vest etc lol. After weeks he finally just let it slide.

Can't believe that they had a civil engineer out there checking compaction in a school pathway and loading dock area. I could understand that the GC is checking that your putting the correct base and top cap of sand around the electrical pipping before putting regular fill back on top there's no structure or heavy use roadway placed there so. you Califorina's must need that to stop earthquake liquefaction?

You’ll probably not care, but bro never, ever let people walk under your boom. I have seen hydraulic hoses blow unexpectedly and slam the boom to the ground. A guy almost got killed one time because he was standing in the swing radius of the machine. Also if safety was such a big deal on this site, the safety guy is doing a shitty job. Allowing material to be picked by a strap on the tooth of the excavator is a big no no with the real, big contractors in socal.

Shit man, last time I saw this much supervision it was me doing it, for shits and giggles at our University we had a construction site for a new building we would put on our PPE and then we would walk through the construction site just checking out everything writing down bullshit, it was then stopped when we did an official tour of the site and the employees were pissed, but the supervisor of the site and the safety man said we cut down workplace injuries to 0 every day we were there

They ain't that strict, there is some conservation within departments, but there is no major water restrictions to individual homeowners for example other than don't leave a hose running, especially with the reservoirs full at the moment.
