This is one of my favourite interviews yet. I look forward to seeing Colin's new footage and doing grabs and more basic tricks again! Although he was in a league of his own with the street style vert skating i did miss seeing the earlier version of Colin's skating. His fakie 540's are the bomb.

Colin McKay is a LEGEND... Someone uploaded a bunch of old Sk8 TV episodes from 1990 onto RU-vid (skateboarding TV show hosted by Matthew Lilliard, aired on Nickelodeon) and Colin appeared in episode 2 for his first TV interview when he was like 14. You could tell he was going to be a skateboarding icon.

some of my best memories as a kid was watching my older brothers bones brigade videos. he had all of em and that was like most cherished possessions. when most of us was collecting baseball cards and comics he was collecting back issues of thrasher and every skate vid he could get his hands on. but none compared to the bones brigade vids and merchandise. almost every saturday night (the only night we could stay up all night) it was us, huge bowl of popcorn, capri suns and a maganvox vcr that barely worked playing those vids one after the other as we studied every second of those grainy films. i miss him and those saturdays but this podcast helps me not forget any of those awesome times. much love guys and thank you.

Colin has been my favorite skater for almost 30 years. This was so great to come upon. When he and Ellis were talking about their breaks from skating and coming back, Colin talks about how skating seemed "fun" again. Ellis says we're skating because we just want to skate, but I think it goes beyond that. When you've immersed yourself into a whole lifestyle, it becomes a part of your identity. You become a skater in the same sense that an artist becomes an artist or a musician a musician. It becomes something that can't be taken away. I haven't skated in years but I still scope spots. Still watch the vids. I don't do it, but I still live and breathe it. Maybe after seeing this I might consider picking it up again... for old times sake.

Growing up watching all the Powell videos. Love hearing all the back stories with the riders that rode for powell

It was Ray that came to the Ranch with Tony I was there. Tony was amazing! First time I saw him skate up close. Tony did an Ollie fakie right in front of me head high. So cool! Never forget it!

"Prolific" is an understatement. Colin is one of those dudes that made us street skaters hyped to skate vert!! like, danny, he also innovated on the streets. As a gromm, i never pressed "THE VERT BUTTON" on the VCR while watching either of their parts. 🧐✍️💪🎉

I just got caught up on all your back episodes and now I’m so bummed I have to wait a week between every episode. This show is wonderful. Colin was a great guest. I love your one on one talks and the guests you have on equally. I’d love to see some older street skaters on to interact with you two. Ed Templeton I think would be an amazing guest. He used to get a lot of homophobic hate thrown his way and he never gave it any attention. I’d love to see how he and Jason interact about that side of how skateboarding used to be. I’d also just love to see more interactions with pros that Tony put in his games. I learned the names Andrew Reynolds, Geoff Rowly, Elyssa Steamer, Chad Muska, Kareem Campbell, and Jamie Thomas from playing them in video games, and they were legitimately some of the best and most interesting skaters of that time. I’d love to see you all catch up. Also, get Mike V on for the love of god! Ya’ll mention him so much, I want to hear some stories!

His Plan B Questionable video part is beyond what top pro people can do in 2023. On street and transition, that video part kills it

God damn this is one of the best episodes ever. LOVED the gigantic tour talk, so many rad memories. And that best trick talk was a cool memory trigger, especially Ellis’s stuff. I hella remember that bs alleyoop big spin five-o revert. Damn this episode was so fun to listen to.

That board on the Minor Threat cover is what got me into skating. In the year 2000, which is maybe kinda weird, but that album totally blew my mind when I was a kid. Also, I wasn't too into vert, but I can totally see that fs crook to fakie from Questionable. Or was it Virtual Reality? Always loved his skating in those four original Plan B videos. Mctwist Canadian flyout is a favorite.

I am a huge fan of the trick selection Colin had and have always tried to immulate that exact esthetic. Told him I named my child after him when I drove us to the Plan b ramp back in the day ....taught me about hot knifing lol

All his early plan B stuff is what me and my friends childhoods were forged of. We loved every trick Wish he would have had more street parts cuz this guy could do it all

We need like a big reunion show with the whole cast and crew of Tony's Gigantic Skate park Tours. The people want it. The people need it.
