The positive influence that game had on skateboarding and peoples lives is just immeasurable. I'll never forget the day I graduated elementary school (6th). I got a PS1 magazine with a demo disc in it at the book store as a gift. Ride home I looked at the games and was kinda bummed at what was on it. For some reason I thought it was a skiing game. (As a lawn jump snowboarder i wasnt into skiing) Got home popped it in and when I saw it was skateboarding I got excited. Ever since that first session I was HOOKED. And the more I learned the more I fell in love with the culture. Whenever I hear "Jerry was a racecar driver" I still hear the beep meaning your sesh was about to end 😂 I got my first skateboard the following Xmas from a jcpenny catalog!! Also there was 2-70s boards at my nannas but man... I NEEDED that new setup. I practiced so many manuals and grabs in my room and bed until the snow melted🤣 when my dad was gone for work I'd skate the living room hahahaha. Family did not like it. Very unsafe plus living in Maine it was tough. But it was all I did every free waking hour of my childhood. It gave me everything that I was missing instantly as a loner kid. And here I am almost a 37 year old man nursing yet another ankle injury for yep, you guessed it SKATEBOARDING 😂😂🤙 Without it I prob had got into it eventually, I loved snowboarding too after all, but it wasn't a common thing here in Maine. It even changed my outlook on the snow. Tough and you gotta love it and be dedicated. Still am to this day. I owe you a major thanks for that, sincerely. It totally changed my life for the better.
Damn I feel bad that Natasha didn’t know anything about Jason but to be fair I saw her headline a festival over 13 years ago I’m sure she’s moved on to other things for the most part and isn’t entirely in the loop anymore. She was always hilarious and insane on the CC roasts. Honestly stoked she was on this pod.
YOU AND THE WOLF TEAHCING PEOPLE TO SKATE SHOULD BE A REGULAR SHOW / PART OF THE PODCAST !!! we all love to watch you guys teaching people how to skate !! or we could say, allowing them to skate and enjoy !!! make it a regular things please !!
you should get some of us older rippers on the show. she's cool but there are so many "didn't quite make it rich" skaters who have stories that would glue people to this podcast like WTF did that actually happen? it did stories. Especially a lot of crazy stories with Dave duncan, that guy is a party legend. Even lesser known rippers that deserve respect. Life is fun with good stories especially the Carbondale colorado skaters. That place is one of a kind btw.
Its crazy I was like the last to get a cell phone and its only because I won one of the Zumies Best Foot Forward contest which was also sponsored by boost mobile.. I was 25
