The Promised Neverland - Anna & Ray - Happy Birthday 

Poor ray... he gets screwed over in so many ways throughout the whole thing. he knows the truth since birth, sets out to save his closest friends by becoming a traitor and helping with his sibling's deaths, only to fail and lose Norman, then tries to take the "easy" way out but is stopped (GOOD thing), then (manga) Becomes sidelined for the rest of the series. he isn't there to help Emma for a lot of Goldy pond, and is forced to rely on Yuugo to save her life while he takes the long route back, unsure of whether his one remaining close friend will live, the bunker arc is nice and all I guess, then the raid happens and some of the kids, along with Yuugo and Lucas (both of whom most veiw as their fathers in a way) end up dead, and they finally meet back up with Norman. even that moment is tainted by the recent loss and Norman's new goals. He and Emma go and deal with the Seven walls, and in one bit he nearly goes insane, only to not be able to talk with the one because his mind was too logical. because of that he had no idea that Emma agreed to the terms she did, and thus couldn't stop her. in the end he still can't protect Emma from her own selflessness. He cares deeply for his friends, but ends up failing to save them completely in the end.
