I even wondered whether Ray cried as he sees the kids getting shipped off one by one... Phil=Ray, and this video made it clearer! I love these animatic videos, they fill several holes or gaps from the manga....

I sounds like Phil might let it out, he wants someone to talk to...because he knows the truth he is going through a lot seeing his family leave.. He knows the reality, he knows the truth about this world, and it hurts him a lot. He's so caring...he loves everyone he knows, and that makes it worse, he has to grow up saying goodbye to those who have no real future, yet they don't know that...only him. He knows that him and Zay are kinda went the same thing, he wants to be strong like him and keep his secret and pretend everything is fine just as he did. But him and Phil are different people, we don't know how he is gonna hold up or what he might say or do.

Imagine the burden Phil had, he literally knew what was actually happning and seeing his friends getting excited about getting, "adopted", when actually they were gonna get shipped and eaten. Seeing everyone happy after their sibling was gonna get adopted and happy for them and phils just sad knowing the truth. The burden must have been tough on the poor guy, the kid was only 4(or 6)
