I literally cackled with delight when the algorithm finally recommended this to me. Imagine how hard my partner rolled their eyes when I started to explain that I grew up watching the IWA wrestling on local television back in the day. Great video. Thanks for posting. Brought back a load of memories.

Edge's commentary with Callis and Jericho's bits shows the value that Tony has had on the wrestling industry. TV Fans will want to go out to live indie shows more for their present and future value.

I like the poster of The Who in Joe Aiello's office. Must be from a recent concert (recent meaning after 2000) but it looks like a reproduction of the classic Maximum R'n'B one, from the 60's.

You need to take A LOT of what Tony says with a GRAIN OF SALT. He is a LEGENDARY BULLSHITTER of epic proportions that likes to throw out kayfabe numbers for EVERYTHING. He claims he wrestled 3000+ matches. His actual match records add up to less than 100. "The Flying Italians" were NOBODIES who not only never wrestled across Canada they never wrestled outside Manitoba and a sliver of Northern Ontario. He was NEVER considered a promoter on the same level as Canadian legends like Eddie Quinn, Jack Tunney, Stu Hart, or Emile Dupree. Those guys thought Tony was a joke.

Wrestled in the AWA for 12 years? Bullshit. I never heard of this guy which means he is full of shit! He is too small to even put on TV. Angel Rivera was the smallest jobber at 5'9 170lbs and this guy looks smaller.
@irishnewblood

I'm with you mate, I know his face from something , but this guy did not wrestle for AWA for 12 years , utter spoofery mate.
@LuckyStrike01
@LuckyStrike01 2 года назад
This would’ve been in the 60s. So it’s probably way before you were watching and before most of that was filmed. The AWA stretched from the Midwest to California and Canada. To be honest the whole wrestling in the awa and all that was probably half made up but this is a different timeline than you are thinking. The way he made it sound he started at 17-18 and wrestled 12 years which would put him as no longer wrestling for the awa in the early 1970s like 1972. Seems like a bit of a stretch especially being so small and with very little amateur background but it’s possible. Most of the promoters in those days were wrestlers themselves and that’s how they got good talent just by calling them because they knew them.
