thanks for doing these videos man they are very informative. Maybe you can do one on Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm and athletes the dangers of isometric exercise and how to maintain strength in the muscle while awaiting surgery? that would be most appreciated.
420deadlift Good suggestion! Meanwhile, here is a blog post we wrote a while back on the topic. Thank you! athleticheartsf.com/aortic-aneurysms-in-simple-terms/
I have hypertension and im under medication to try to control it ( half pill of Exforge 10/320) im 26 year old 100 kilos aprox... will lifting weights (lets say 30 pounds dumbell) be of significant risk for my health? or do you suggest i give up on anything that have to do with weights (even basic excersises such as push ups) all together?... its sad news already to be hypertense at this age... any answer is greatly appreciated ( my cardiologist just says all is ok but he never goes in depth about lifting)
Sorry for the late reply, arkchanger. Giving specific medical advice really requires a formal visit to understand all the specific considerations. I recommend you press the matter with your doctors to get a clear answer. Best wishes, Dr. Accad
I need help.. My BP is always 135/85mmhg since I was 18years.. Am currently 32ans, I exercise vigorously 4 times per week , not overweight, eat plant based, low salt, 24 hours fast once per week, sleep enough.. Two years ago I was obese.. My figures are always high.. Wish to know I could be considered lee hypertensive
Hi Riccardo I’m no doctor or medical advisor. I can just say that I was like you, though a bit older 48. I tried to eat plant based diet and exercised regularly..... but my BP was on the high end as in approx 150/100 I have previously with success used a KETOGENIC diet (No carbon Hydrats.... As in no bread, rice, pasta, potato and sugar. But lots of fat. For example Smoked Salmon and a tomato feta cheese salat) to lower the BP. (Search RU-vid KETO diet for more) And now I’m doing it again. After 10 days my BP is between 110/70 and 120/80 So basically I’m pleased. However though the diet tast great and doesn’t limit the amount you can eat it is a bit tiresome in the long run. But I guess you do what you have to do...... Best of luck.
Same with me. My bp is always 140/90 since I was 17, now Im 37 and my bp is still the same, it seldom goes down to 120/80 though I am taking hbp medicine.
@@gamblingsavant I used a pretty strict KETO diet. But most importantly for me, I used urin-strips to follow my progress in ketoses. (Then you get a scientific results of you effort) However I’m missing bread and potatoes so much that I’m of the diet again…… BP is somewhat up again….. you can’t have it all….
i really like your philosophy / approach to treating hypertension: "... to do the right thing. to minimize exposure to medications when it's not necessary..." hoping to find someone as great as you, here.
