Yes, this is another one of their masterpieces for sure! They were always very experimental with their works. This one really never got heard by the public as a whole unless you actually bought the album. It was a shame for sure because I view this as one of the greats of their songs. Love your insight to all of the songs. Thank you for listening to this wonderful song.

Thank you dear Ace, I always love to experience more of my favorite astrophysicist/guitarist... and what's not to love about the man and his creativity and genius talents... This song was based on a dream Brian had while in the hospital with hepatitis while touring the U.S. ..... amazing reverb techniques considering the technology of the past would not accommodate such a feat... the Japanese sitar in the intro and outro were also a special touch of Brians' love for Japan... have you ever heard a waltz played on the guitar?? Check out "The Millionaires Waltz" or a relatively unknown blues song called "Lost Opportunity" off the Special Edition Miracle Box Set recently released... blessings.

It's intriguing how Brian can play so many things on guitar! I'm excited to hear those two songs you mentioned that I'm not familiar with yet, they must be part of the Queen music journey. Looking forward to all that's coming up!

Brian said that this song was inspired by a dream he had about the great flood. There are certainly parts of it which allude to the story of Noah. "Fly and find the new green bough. Return like the white dove". The Japanese instrument is a toy koto. Both Brian and Freddie were fascinated by Japanese music. Later Brian wrote Teo Torriatte (Let Us Cling Together) for the A Day at the Races Album in 1976. Freddie also composed a piece featuring Japanese language for his Barcelona album. (La Japonaise) I would love to hear you react to that one in which he duets with Montserrat Caballe. I love that you enjoyed The Prophet's Song, it is indeed a masterpiece.

Awesome song. Loved it! That's interesting that there's more Japanese inspired music on the way. I'm definitely curious and look forward to getting around to them!

"The Prophet's Song" is in the "epic, complex and A+" category for me, with "Bohemian Rhapsody", "March of the Black Queen" and "Innuendo".

Fred doesn't start singing lead until the line... I dreamed I saw on a moon lit stair. Opening soft vocal is sung by Brian. Fred / Roger, backing Bri's doubled lead opening vocal. I believe.

According to the album’s liner notes and also the website Queen Songs, Brian only sang backing vocals on this track.

That opening line is not Fred, or Roger. That one line could still be categorized as backing. Even though it opens the song. Queen as a group, are always interchanging a line here or there. Many times ( though not always ) Those exchanges correspond with the person who wrote the song. IE Roger singing the Chorus of... The Invisible Man. Which he wrote. @@Dillon12

@Dillon12 10 месяцев назад
@@KelliViti that's not the case here. Even though it could be categorized as a backing vocal, there's still vocals of Freddie there, and also Brian's vocals, but not Brian alone, and it is mainly Freddie singing.
