New song released on MM25 Mega Man Rocks, the Capcom compilation album. Music by The Protomen protomen.com/ Artwork by John Delucca johndelucca.blogspot.com/ for Act II.
As an electromechanical industrial tech, this would be my jam if it wasn't for the hypertension, diabetes and cancer causing my body to fall apart at the seams. I'm definitely not built to last, but that's what indepth maintenance cycles are for.
I hear you. No cancer for me so far, but I have the other two and just lived through my first heart attack. The weakness of my flesh disgusts me, and I crave the strength and certainty of steel.
You are the machine that keeps the other machines turning, at the cost of your wellbeing. Your sacrifice moves us ever onward. Take what you will, but I appreciate your work.
Being a chef who works70 hour weeks this has become my theme song. Every morning opening the kitchen and each night as I'm leaving this song is playing.
8 years later and I let everybody down by quitting the kitchen and becoming a bartender. Still rocking out to the Protomen! They just came through orlando which was bitchin.
Lyrics from the wiki if you want them: (I am polished steel) I am a piston drivin' (Straight through your heart) I'll make you feel alive and (Tear you apart) If you still survive... (Get out while you can) (I am all revved up) I have real red leather (Coming for you) You hear my engine whining (And in a bolt of blue) I'm gonna make you mighty... (Clear me a path) A machine of a man, and baby I was built to last (If you could see my eyes) Smell the diesel burnin' (Behind this dark, black glass) I see the whole world turnin' (Give it some more gas) The Line of No Return is... (Coming up fast...) (There's fire in my veins) Baby, don't forget it (Sweat and oil) My hearts electric (We're gonna rock that road) So come and get it. (Put your foot on the gas) A machine of a man, and baby I was built to last (I see the sun go down) I see the streets get rough (I been here all along) I know you think you're tough (I'll be here when you're gone) You say you've had enough (When the night time comes, baby) I wanna play rock and roll A machine of a man, and baby I was built to... Let's go Baby, I was built to last Baby, I was built to last Baby, I was built to last Baby, I was built to last Well the world may die! It may all catch fire I will still survive because I'll go on and on! And on! And on (A machine of a man, and baby I was built to last)
Saw these guys at warped tour yesterday. I had no idea who they were but they were freakin awesome. I had the biggest smile on my face the whole show. The Protomen have earned a new fan
Since this song is not connected to any acts, anyone else think it's about Megaman confronting any robot master through out the series? Since there's a single like that says his real name (*Rock*). The climax being when you reach the boss room and fight. Imagining that makes it more awesome.
Sounds more like protoman with how similar he sounds to Joe and the mention of red leather and his dark shades. Could be protoman back from the dead "built to last" before he confronts rock. To test him and his resolve 'make him mighty' 'play him'
@@timobrien2738 yeah, i revisited this video as I do frequently, and saw my comment the other day. Was about to tweet them about this but do not want to force an interaction in which their response is something among the lines of "yeah, sucks man. We do not have the rights/property for this song so we cannot chose to do so", because i imagine something weird like that is the case, considering the description on this video
I think it's pretty obvious that there's a rock opera about Megaman. His name is Rock Light, and he has a sister named Roll. What genre do you think they were meant to be sung of in?
@@jeralgrant Well... kind of a long story. I didn't get my motorcycle yet because I wasn't earning enough and the parts and repairs for it were way out of budget. On top of that I had to drop out due to unresolved trauma and other mental health affecting my school work and trying to live a normal life. But not to worry, I took a break and I'm seeing therapy and I re-enrolled with a plan this time, I plan to get my transfer credits and associates in arts degree and transfer to a good university far from the state I live in and start over. So when that day comes I will pull up on my sweet motorcycle and I'll even have a cool suit to go along with it to sweeten the deal. I'll keep you posted if you want.
@@Austin_Soares Wow, that's a lot. I'm sorry the plan changed, but I'm glad to hear you're doing what's best for you. You seem like someone who happens to things rather than let things happen to him. Best of luck, friend.
Which is interesting, since they've said that they're not fans of Mega Man X. Commander especially HATES Mega Man X. (I made a joke that Act III should be a ska Mega Man X rock opera, and he just looked SO pissed.)
Jack Guidera Was he mad about the Mega Man X part, though, or was he mad about the ska joke? Because apparently people keep calling one of their songs "ska" when it's not.
This peculiar song sounds like something from The Rocky Horror Picture Show, but with robots instead of... Y'know. Of course the lyrics aren't similar at all though.
+Daily RIP At least I'm not the only one who noticed :D I love them and Meatloaf, Iron Maiden and other bands... The moment I heard The Protomen (The song was Hope Rides Alone) I fell in love with them :3
It's the theatrics and cohesive nature of their music. While this isn't connected to any of the "main" albums, it's still written in the same style. Their songs don't exist in a vacuum. It's like listening to Time, without The Great Gig in the Sky afterwards.
it's only been 2 years since there last Album, The Protomen Present: A Night of Queen and 5 years since Act II; so they will probably release act III this year or next year I would guess I really hope it's this year though.
storycoolbro Hold back the night was released almost two years ago, so they've been working on it for quite a while. And now we just sit and wait, with no word about Act III. Don't get me wrong, A Night of Queen was pretty awesome, but I want know how the Opera Rock Megaman-based story ends. Spoiler: "not well for humanity" =p
well there was 4 years between there first 2 albums so unless it should be released pretty soon but their song writing is phenomenal and I assume it takes them a while for them to get a song to where they will release it, let alone a whole album. on a side note I can't wait to see them at warped tour this year.
edhc44 For me lucky doesn't even begin to describe it, I live in Australia and last year I found out by total chance they were playing in Sydney a few days beforehand, best gig I've been to in a long time
I really like the art, but where does it come from? Album inserts? I don't like how they removed the doctors' facial hair, but maybe that was to avoid getting sued.
John DeLucca did the art for Act II and The Cover Up EP at least. His blog is in the description, if I remember correctly this piece is from the inside spread. No idea what you're saying with the doctor though.
Rain Richards no no doctor wily is definitely mentioned in 'hope rides alone' i dont think copyright would be a problem for here though, this song is in an album made by capcom
The Protomen would NEVER, under ANY circumstances support Trump. Hell, they compared him to the villain in their rock opera at an event I went to. Trump represents everything their storyline goes against.
So what you want the hivemind socialist government Hillary wants? Single payer insurance? where you have to wait in line for 5-9 months to se the Dr. and if you are sick you still have to wait in line. To have life saving surgery you better hope you don't die while you are waiting in line. This is how it is in Canada. Canada only has 36 million people in its whole country, California alone has 39.... Those lines i quoted are Canadas lines for medical assistance. You cant even pay cash at a dr. office in Canada everyone HAS to use the medical system and wait in line. If all and I do mean almost ALL of these career polticians would quit and get fresh faces into the government that care about life more than money then America would have a chance. But no they are all greedy as hell baby boomers and they have sucked America dry and left us with shit.
@Jim Notor Oh, did you not hear about them supporting BLM? I mean, they ACTIVELY SAID SO, on their official facebook page. I even went to one of their Q&A sessions and they explicitly compared Trump to Dr. Wily, the villain of their story. Sorry to burst your bubble.
@@dorkandproudofit Also the fact that the theme of what we've heard from Act III supports the idea of people coming together to fix society and rise up against the government, which is what BLM is. Also Act I also supports the BLM idea of change with the "If you say this is how it has to be, you do no better than the fools of this burning city" lines in The Will of One, as well as Protoman saying that they need to stand up and fight if they want change.
