Megaman: I have seen this city a thousand times Through the glass twenty stories high I have watched this city burn If everything that you said is true There is no hope someday they will learn But if I stay here with you Then I will never know the truth Do not say this is how it has to be As I walk through the city streets These frightened people watching me pass There is an evil that holds them here Yet they won't try breaking its grasp But if I stay here with you Then I will leave them to their doom Do not say this is how it has to be You do no better than the fools of this burning city Dr. Light: You have heard me tell this story Many times before you sleep No matter how dark this city gets Even now, there is hope for man Megaman: Even here it is not safe Even this grave has been defaced Someone has written on this stone In some angry hand Hope rides alone Hope rides alone Hope rides alone Megaman: If you say this is how it has to be You do no better than the fools of this burning city And as I live There is no evil that will stand And I will finish What was started The fight of Protoman Loudspeaker: We have control We keep you safe We are your hope We have control We keep you safe We are your hope Human Choir: We have control We keep you safe We are your hope We are in control.
Megaman walks from the decrepit building, helmet on, ready, willing, prepared to fight. Protoman would not go unavenged. As he walked through the crowds of people and scattered corpse, machine, rats, he could hear the machines and their distant chant. "We have control! We keep you safe! We are your hope!" It didn't matter to him. Megaman just wanted to kill Wiley. He was one of the few with dangerous ideas. Ideas forbidden in Wiley's society. None of it mattered to him. He would fight for Protoman. He walked back from the tomb where Protoman had been killed. The human voices started to chime in with the speakers. "We have control! We keep you safe! We are your hope!" Megaman stood upon an overturned, upward tilting piece of decaying road. He cried out to the world, as passionately as he was able his message. "Do not say this is how it has to be; you do no better than the fools of this burning city! But as I live, there is no evil that will stand. ...and I will finish what was started; the fight of Protoman!!!" Megaman ran off to Wiley's tower, the source of the chaos, in search of revenge. But what would he find there?
I have heard this song a thousand times Through my speakers, volume set to high and I have heard this song play I'll wait until the song is through and then see what the comments say but if I stay on RU-vid then I will never get to school As I walk through the suburb streets and see the people watching me pass I'm singing this song out loud, so I'm sure I look like an arse But if I say "don't persecute"
well worth the trip, plus make sure to get there early. seriously: MAKE SURE. they're like the nicest guys ever and totally hang out with the fans pre-show. when i saw them in springfield, mo, the time on the show was WAY wrong on the proto-website so i showed up like 3 hours before the show started. no one was at the venue except the protomen and me, and they invited me to come over and hang out--i sat around killing beers with Kilroy and Heath Who for like an hour and a half. too awesome
I live in Kentucky, so close to Nashville...It just makes me extremely happy that such an incredible band came to be from an area near where I live :')
really got me pumped. The singer has an awesome voice Although I cant seem to find anywhere that tells me who plays what. I saw Commander but he was the only one i got a good look at. any tips?
@cutekillerofwow Listen to the whole album, and the one after it. Actually buy the albums and check out the cool art and read the liner notes to get the whole story. After that, its a lot fuckin' epic.
@CriticsConfession The Makeup and Vanity album is not a Protomen album, but an 8-bit cover album by Makeup and Vanity Set, a friend of the band's who also helped master the Act I album
