I think her style is so apealing because this type of clothing suits the actress really well. I dont understand much about kibbe body types but I'm sure It has smthg to do with It
in my opinion she has the most boring and basic style out of everyone in the cast... so i'm kinda surprised that a lot of people agree with this. You can see the stuff she wears in every other tv show bc it's just not special - the rest of the character are all so unique and different tho
@@ardabars8476 i "personally" like her style i didn't say she had the best outfits... even then i'd argue that zoya has the most basic outfits just cause i've already seen the urban outfitters look paired with dr. martens numerous times in (teen) tv shows already. this is my first time seeing a character with preppy, girly outfits that isn't just a basic school uniform with a pleated skirt.
Ok but the stylist in the original show said she wanted some of the pieces to look messy on purpose. Like, because they’re elite, they wouldn’t care about expensive button ups or pleated skirts just being thrown on. Regular people would (ironing it, tucking it in) Blair and Chuck were the most put together but everyone else was sloppy. I can see a reflection of that here too.
Blair and Chuck were both "new rich" (despite their looks and being wealthier than many). That's why they had to keep up with appearances... Serena and Nate were rich for many generations, at least 3/4 for Serena, and more than 7 for Nate. B+C parents worked a lot in order to be that rich, but weren't born into that.
@@aricarly Blair could actually be old money, her father was old money hinted in the show. In the book series the family got the money from The Waldorf - Astoria hotel so maybe it translated into the show idk, but chuck was def new money
@@aricarly Nate is old money hailing from the van der Bilt, Serena both parents is old money (The Rhodes and The Van der Woodsen), Blair is also old money (From the Waldorfs) and chuck is new money bcs his father is the one who starts bass industries
I find the wardrobe for Audrey smart. She sees everything in black and white. This is represented by how she was kinda unaccepting with Aki being bisexual, it's either he is gay or not; Zoya being an enemy or friend, never in between. Which I find really funny too because her clothes represents it. Her wardrobe seems to lean on to black/navy blues/ dark blue and white/brown pieces and never the color in between, it's always safe which represents her reserved nature which in the long, could be boring. Lastly, I find her interest to classic glamour and hollywood smart as black and white films are very prominent during the old hollywood era, which, again, represents her mindset.
I agree I think the styling really suits the characters. I think my problem is that sometimes the pieces are unflattering or awkward looking, like the stylist doesn't really know how to accentuate the body types of some of the actors.

Most of the people ive seen say this are white and I don't want to chalk it up to racism because I don't understand how an almost all poc cast is giving new money. Old gossip girl was not this revered cultural fashion spectacle were making it out to be and thats ok. I don't understand saying Audrey or Monet give new money. The old cast styling was questionable to say the least and I wouldn't look at Julien, Monet or Audrey and think theyre new money.
Luna has my favorite style. I love neutral tones, simple ensembles, texture over pattern, and showing off my legs haha. Second favorite is probably the preppy blonder girl near the beginning, because I wanted to dress like that in high school

The capucine is shown to have been brand new and pulled straight out of its casing by monet. So i think it was used for the ig post to promote the brand (as she is an influencer). She didnt bring it with her from home. I think the writers use these small details to show show julien the influencer vs julien the person. Just like when she reassures zoya about the adidas x beyonce sneakers by saying they were a gift and she didnt buy them for her herself. Again, influencer thing. I think it's really brilliant.
i love audrey's style it's so pretty, luna and audrey's are the ones i love the most and for audrey, i love her light natural makeup, it's so nice and for luna, i always love her eye looks, it's so pleasing to look at

Both the original and the new one are hit and miss but when the hits they hit the stair styling was great and the sexy purple 80s suite on Monet I fucking loved. Monet and Audrey has the best styling
Finally a different and more detailed analysis of the this show. I somehow have the same thoughts that you are approaching. And overall I think this show has great potencial to reach the narrative in different and modern ways. I like this show despite what everyone else thinks. edit: not to mention the quotes you get from gossip girl, are pure gold.
I love this content but your voice is way too drawling compared to your earlier videos? It takes the focus away from the content, it's sounds like you're falling asleep (the music is also a bit too loud imo)

This show and euphoria clothing are literally gonna be setting trends and zoey style kinda reminds me of Jenny outfits from the first season when Jenny was girly and trying to fit in with Blair school clothing wise
