When I listened to the part about being in nature...I was reminded of the years when we had an old boat. We lived close enough to the bay to take it out once a week or so and I remember, and always described to people a certain feeling that washed over my wife and I as soon as we left the dock....as we jogged the boat thru the no wake zone it was sort of a long doorway and when we hit the open water we literally felt the world melt away. Sitting there bobbing along with some fishing rods In the water, we had some of the best conversations ever....any trace of the day to day BS was gone. So....what Thoreau said.😁 Been thinking I’d like to get another boat.

"If these distress-seekers felt the power to benefit themselves, to do something for themselves from internal sources, they would also understand how to create a distress of their own, specially their own, from internal sources. Their inventions might then be more refined, and their gratifications might sound like good music: while at present they fill the world with their cries of distress, and consequently too often with the feeling of distress in the first place! They do not know what to make of themselves - and so they paint the misfortune of others on the wall; they always need others! And always again other others! - Pardon me, my friends, I have ventured to paint my happiness on the wall." - Friedrich Nietzsche, The Gay Science

Seems like he's writing the misfortunes of others on paper. ;) (: ( I'm aware such paradoxes happen in philosophy. I've met a few. ie. Trying to be non-judgmental, by thinking I'm no better than anyone else, ..and when I come close, the Ego grabs hold of the idea, that I succeeded in doing that,..so I/it feels it Is better than others.)

🖤 So how does RU-vid know exactly what video I (desperately) need at every given moment of my life? Thanks, algorithm. Thanks, Academy of Ideas. This is how I survive another mental breakdown. 🖤
