I wonder how many scale tons a human would weigh in comparison to that engine? It pulled so much better than the real deal with all the extra tractive effort.
Interesting loco to model. He mustve really liked one as a kid or something. I think the smallest loco I'd want to build would be a Midland 4F or Johnson Spinner. Otherwise I'm a 4-4-0 or bigger kinda chap
The Johnson spinner is about the only Midland passenger engine bigger then it's tender. There's quote a lot of fun to be had with smaller engines, personally I don't think I'd go larger then a 4-4-0, although it does all come down to personal preference. All engines suit a purpose, after all (except the Leaders!)
@@ajaxengineco I don't know about that. A Black 5 or Princess with all 4 cylinders would be very nice too. My mate has a black 5 and a GWR King. They're great locomotives and loads of fun
@@steamgent4592 I like the engineering put into making working models of larger engines, it certainly is an admirable task to complete, I just don't fancy my own hand at it! I imagine the big locos like Kings are probably significantly less of a handful to operate then the finicky pugs (certainly how it goes in real life) but I've no evidence to support that.
Thrilled to know at least two of these wonderfu locosll exist in preservation largely thanks to R.S greenwood BTW we also have him to thank for the survival of richard evans loco ( the only survival of six) much loved "bellerophon" Joy valve gear awesome locomotive
hello i am going to try to build one of these but i cant find any dimensions for them. i am wondering if you would kindly give me the diameter and length of the boiler, cylinders and the wheel base. thanks
