The Pumpkin Fairy - OOAK Halloween Special Repaint - because you were asking for it!

Hi there!
I wanted to make a Little Witch for my "Cute Halloween Project", buuuuut I've got so many requests for a Pumpkin Fairy, that I decided to change the whole concept and make one instead :)
So here she is - a distant cousin of the Tooth Fairies - The Pumpkin Fairy!
You can spot them on pumpkin fields in the autumn season, but they especially like smiling jack-o'-lanterns, that people carve for Halloween.
They are little trick-or-treaters, so they can tie your shoelaces or trow some pumpkin seeds at you! Leave them some pumpkin cake at your porch and you'll be just fine ;)

These fairies of yours are turning into a series of masterpieces. I honestly loved the tooth fairies so much that I go back and watch them at times. And now we have this beautiful creation too. So glad you did a fairy instead, but you would have also knocked it out of the park with a witch.

I love the pumpkin fairy, really. The fact her antennas are slightly Asymmetrical makes her even more charming. After all, real creatures are not completely symmetrical either

Imagine approaching a door on Halloween, and just when you're about to ring, this li'l bug pops out of the decoration and buzzes "Trick or treeeeetz!" 😁👍 I think au contraire the antennas fit very nicely as they are. Moving the face muscles lets even wobble my hairline and ears sometimes. In this case, it completes the expression of one closed eye in a very casual, but even more convincing way. I suppose you didn't see it because of the image you had in your head? A "happy little accident", as a certain painter with another pumkin-shaped red afro would have called it.

Wonderfully done again! To be honest I was concerned when you said “cute” but luckily- your version of cute is wonderful! She is obviously very well done in your style, and shows off the cute and playful side of the creepy and dark fairies. I love everything about her, and especially her hair!! Such a wonderful idea! The stand as well is superb! You blow me away with every doll you make, and this little rascal is so fun!! Her antenna may be asymmetrical, however I think that just adds to the troublemaker and mischief vibe that she has going on with that expression of hers 😊

So happy that you like the hairstyle idea :D Making all those curls is always a looong process, but I just love how the "afro" looks when it's finished :) With the antennas - it was just so frustrating that I made this mistake, but I am so glad that people are seeing it as a part of a character and are not that bothered by it as I am :D That is a relief :)

I used to scream when I first started watching your channel because I follow a lot of doll artist who pride themselves on articulation. So to see you just completely throw that out the window was definitely something new to me lol. But I've gotten used to it and actually love how expressive each doll you make just by repositioning the arms, legs and torso. Very creative!!

I think the antenna matches the fairies personality. Plus it's more common in nature for things to not be perfectly symmetrical. I have an ear that sits higher than the other, my glasses are always tilted! But it's apart of who I am!

First of all, if the dolls face your working on is in the frame, don't worry about which side of the screen your on! DaVinchi used to work upside down and backwards. "The Pumpkin Fairy" is just to cute, as her "cousins" the tooth fairy's we're adorable! Over my years, I built racing cars, the "pieces" I used to work with were very large and heavy. "Re" moving, and "Re" shaping the dolls forms is the same thing, you just don't need an engine hoist to put them together. Your work is beautiful ❤️ Thank you for bringing us this form of art. P.S. the Fairies will have to live in a glass case, just thinking about them collecting dust is un imaginable!

...I think the asymmetrical antennae add to her character. He antennae are askew, but as a Halloween mischief maker, her actions are probably askew to what everyone else is doing. She twirls the green hair to emphasize its autumn vine illusion, sits in the jack o'lantern with a wink and a stuck out tongue to invite you to laugh with her. She might be out of step with the placement of her antennae, but she owns it and dares you to join her. Her antennae knew her nature from the start, a fairy different from her kind, that just might mean she'll pull her tricks on them too.

Thank you :) At first (despite people asking about it) I wasn't gonna make the Pumpkin Fairy. I didn't have a good concept for her. But the more people asked for it, the more I was thinking about it and the concept worth a try just appeared. I don't have regrets. If the Little Witch concept was strong enough and if I would really want to do it - I would do it :) Sometimes it is good to listen to suggestions, but, off course, not against your own heart :)

MORE FAIRIES! I love your lore about them! The animal kingdom families thing and all is amazing! I love that you also don't clothe them, because you're so right, no creature in the animal kingdom other than us humans use clothes, EXCEPT for ones with shells, or things like caddisfly or stonefly larvae, but for the most part it's only humans. I think having something that adopts a shell or something as a decoration or piece of protection would be really cool too, but not exactly necessary.

Oh my Gosh ! Can I be your Mum ..she’s so lucky to be able to show off your work 🌸..she’s exquisite.The sculpting to turn her to a faerie is amazing and her face paint is gorgeous.To be honest every think about her and the pumpkin and base is Gorgeous and to me she looks just like you would imagine a faerie to look like .The shrunk head has also helped with the illusion .She’s Perfect 🥰

Have you considered adding acrylic paint to your kitty litter/wood glue mixture? I really love this sassy little Elf! The antennas being asymmetrical isn't really a mistake. As she is winking, her features would be a bit uneven.

Painting the cured mixture was never a problem for me, so I never tried mixing a color into it.... I would have to test it on a small portion first to know how it would cure and expand with the color in :)

Hi!! When you mentioned at the beginning that her original hair stretched out the holes in her head, I remembered a trick I learned from Lady Dynamite Creates' channel. If you keep the boiled water used to soften the head vinyl, and re-immerse the head once the original plugs have been removed, the holes will shrink back down once cooled. Leave them in the water for about 3-5 minutes and that should do the trick. Also, as always, this doll is marvelous!

Since it is now July, you probably won't see this but the slightly askew antenna suit her personality perfectly!
