This series as well as the character's appearance on Daredevil season 2 did a fabulous job on portraying just how broken and tormented Frank Castle's character truly is and that accompanied with Jon Bernthal's performances made it that much easier for the audience to resonate with Frank's emotions which clearly depict him as a man going through rage, confusion, hopelessness, and an abysmal level of depression all role into one. A average person going through what Frank is might typically consider the route of self deletion quite honestly. 😔

This version of The Punisher actually made his first appearance in season 2 of Daredevil and it's there where his story actually starts. When I saw the Thomas Jane-movie I got more curious about the character, read a couple of comics and instantly became a huge fan! The Punisher is my favorite Marvel character, I'm such a fan that I have a Punisher poster framed on my wall! Btw, "Welcome Back, Frank" is the name of a comic series where The Punisher returns to the Marvel Universe in the early 2000's after having a really bad run at the end of the 90's where he became literally an angel of death (it was not a good idea and nobody liked it). It's from the Welcome Back, Frank comic the side characters that were played by Rebeca Romijn and Ben Foster in the Thomas Jane-movie comes from and the assassin The Russian (played by Kevin Nash) is also from that comic, except in the comics he talked, was funny and was a huge fan of other Marvel superheroes =P Welcome Back, Frank comic was written by Garth Ennis, who also created The Boys comics, and he also wrote The Punisher: MAX comic series (which are really great!)

The Thomas Jane movie is only the second Punisher movie, the first starred Dolph Lundgren in 1989.

This hit you hard because it was unexpected how brilliantly written and acted this was. The role of Frank Castle as played here will be a Heath Ledger, as Joker, caliber of hard act to follow. I loved this so much. 2nd season is just as good if not better. have fun with all of it

I absolutely LOVED Thomas Jane in the movie. Jon Bernthal definitely had big shoes to fill, and fill them he did. The pain. The rage. The skills and just general bad-assery. It all adds up to a fantastic hand-off of the character. Jon Bernthal IS The Punisher.

The reason it jumps straight into it is that the character and his backstory were introduced in Daredevil season 2. There are two seasons.

The music in that beatdown scene was Tom Waits 'Hell Broke Luce' from his 'Bad as Me' album. I really like that album, so I had to give a "HELL YEAH!" when I heard it come in.

The Punisher, Dare Devil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Defenders. Absolutely amazing shows. I was mad when Netflix had to stop them, because Marvel was bought by Disney. My favorite shows at the time when they were on. Hope your back heals quickly. You rock Angel, that's really cool, that get to do all the stand in and extra work in movies and shows.

Hey, thanks so much for your comment! My back is definitely better; I appreciate it. 🙂 Ohh, that makes so much sense of why they stopped the shows. I didn't even realize that/ thunk about it. Man! Yeah, that sucks. I'm 100% checking out those other shows in my spare time to get all the back stories. I did watch Jessica Jones a few years ago and I really liked it, but I just don't remember any details from the show or other characters other than her main storyline and the "villain" played by David Tennant (my favorite Doctor from Doctor Who), but I can't even remember his name. So I'm really excited to go back and watch it again as well. I'm happy you're here for the journey of me watching this show that is already astounding me....even the music is epic. I can't remember much from the show besides her main story, like I said, but I remember when he put kids in a closet. 😭😭😭 I don't look forward to rewatching that part. He played a villain scarily well. He's awesome. But yeah, I do look forward to rewatching it (besides that lol), and yesss the rest of the shows are going to be great I'm sure. Since I don't have time to do reactions to them all, I'll post updates on what I've watched and my thoughts. I'm glad what you guys (and now me) at least got out of the shows was fantastic, like you said. That's great. 😃

@@AngelGroves Netflix Marvel shows were all interconnected. Marvel talent was slowly drummed out and replaced by Disney activists over time. Hence The Netflix shows that suffered the most in quality were the ones that started their production later. Netflix Iron Fist REALY suffered. Luke Cage fared better, but still fell short of potential. Jessica Jones season 1 was GREAT, seasons 2 & 3 began to suffer. Daredevil (3 seasons) & The Punisher (2 seasons) fared the best overall and are recommended watches. 'The Defenders' was rushed and fell short of potential - yet it is important to both Iron Fist and especially important to Daredevil - between Daredevil seasons 2 & 3.

Actually MARVEL’s been owning Disney since 2009, Disney was the ones who actually provided Netflix for these characters since they also so take place in the MARVEL Cinematic Universe

NOTE: This was one of the first videos I recorded a year ago, way before the channel went live, so my intro is a little different/short as well as my discussion super short! @@JW666 Agreed. It's all terrible and deliberate. Sadly, there is a HUGE difference between old school Marvel & the Disney activists that have taken over the franchise. Thank Bob Iger, Kevin Feige, and the others who pushed for the social engineering agenda & the hate grifting. I would chose to be Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet. Then I could snap my fingers - not to delete anyone - but to remove all the social engineering agenda and bring back the desire to entertain.

If you haven't already seen them, highly recommend this, Daredevil and the first season of Jessica Jones at the least. As others have mentioned, Punisher is introduced in season 2 of Daredevil, the studio had no intention of doing a Punisher series at the time, but Bernthal knocked it out of the park with his performance and they knew they had to give him his own series. Incidentally, this explains why his character isn't involved in The Defenders series, despite being such a popular character, since the series was all pre-planned to be the equivalent of the Avengers, for their four big individual series, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.

As @JW said, this is actually the Punisher from the Marvel series Daredevil. You think you like him here, it's a MUST WATCH for Daredevil seasons 1 and 2. You should REALLY watch Daredevil before you continue. This series will make more sense if you do. After that, it gets murky, but if you wish to continue Daredevil, the next after season 2 is the Defenders, THEN season 3.

The launch of this Punisher version was in Daredevil season 2. Fortunately, The Punisher was still under old school Marvel talent control before they were all drummed out by Disney. That is why the production quality is still good. Netflix Marvel series are all connected. When it comes to Marvel as a company - We can see the quality drop as old school Marvel talent are drummed out and replaced by Disney activists.

You really should pause watching this series and start at the beginning. Keep in mind that any 13-episode season has more screen time (12 hours) than almost any one character gets in the entire run of the MCU movies. You definitely need to check out the 1989 version of The Punisher with Dolph Lundgren. It’s an okay action film. Not the best, but decent. Also Masters of the Universe a personal favorite since you did Highlander. Good job on that.

Curious do you have any advice or tips for getting noticed for voices/voice acting? I have pretty much all of my work in a playlist of what I've done for the past 15 years, I've worked and still keep in touch(spoke to him the other day actually) with a big youtuber, he has 7 million subs named Swoozie he's known for making little animations telling funny short stories about his life experiences. But before he got bigger, I used to game with him on xbox and nintendo back in the early 2000's haha. He and I made some cartoon series together, he did the writing, animation and editing. I was the voice actor. If you'd like I can link you to my playlist of voices, what I've done etc Like we did a few called "If thundercats had myspace" back when myspace was big and a sequel called "If Thundercats had Twitter" haha. In the credits he lists my name the voices I've done. He's always telling me "one day you'll be a star dude" but I dont think of myself as THAT good haha. Anyway, that's super cool how you're a stand in for shows, movies etc. I didn't realize I'm talking to a celebrity! Must be so cool.😃

I actually did watch some of Daredevil season 1 right when it first came out, but obviously don't remember anything specific from it. I'm going to watch season 1 of it, now, though, in my spare time. 1) there are 3 Punisher movies, not 2. The 1st was in the 1990's starring Dolph Lundgren. 2) there is also a short film with Thomas Jane called "Punisher: Dirty Laundry". Search RU-vid.

The first Punisher movie i ever saw was in 1989 Dolph Lundgren played Frank Castle in that one. I loved That movie back then but the newer movie is better. As for tv shows i did watch more than once. Highway To Heaven (1984-1989) If you want to watch that one make sure you got enough boxes of tissues. Married with children with the GOAT Al Bundy was my comedy fix. One of the first superhero series i saw was Smallville. The movies i watch multiple times are. Alien/Aliens with Sigourney Weaver as Ripley Tremors (1990) and Pump up the volume (1990)

I'll have to check out Highway to Heaven as well (with tissues). I loved Married With Children! My sister and I watched it all of the time. So, so good. Alien and Aliens are amazing and some of my favorites as well, and I haven't seen Tremors in over 10 years! I've never heard of Pump up the Volume. That's cool. Thanks, again, for sharing!

You might not have meant "anything" to watch, more like official movies and stuff, but if you'd like, I adapt old comics on my channel with voice acting and narration, and I did the "Welcome Back, Frank" storyline by Garth Ennis others here have mentioned. I fit it into an hour long program, but it's from 2 years ago and it's not my best work, I've gotten much better since. Anyway most fans will tell you the comic, this comic, was the best version of the character, so if you want to see it, here you go. I'd have left this as a reply on your pinned comment if you had left one, I don't want to seem like I'm trying to draw views here, I love your reaction videos. Oh and I also did his origin story set in Vietnam, "Born", that's from the Max series others have mentioned and it shows the darker form of the book. The initial Marvel Knights run was more fun, almost goofy at times, but also with its serious side in balance. The Max run was more grim, realistic, and even depressing at times. I have thoughts about the show and movies but I'll leave those on other episode reactions. I saw Crank forever ago and didn't know there was a second! Lol I think I did see shoot 'em up as well, and liked it too! It's just been so long. That would be a great rewatch sometime. I'll have to check out The Lost Room. Thanks!
