I used to do this on my R1 and one time a tractor pulled out on a corner crossing the whole street. I was going 163 and barely missed the tractor on the left. After that I just realized it wasn’t worth it. I wanted to continue to push myself but I made the decision it’s best to take that energy to the track not the streets.

No, most people don’t understand that traffic is more than just individuals. It takes on a being of its own and follows particular patterns that are incredibly predictable. Traffic can be read like a book, he wasn’t taking any risks from what I saw with the times he slowed down and read the path ahead, charted it and ran the line; or decided, nah, gonna hang back. People imagine that if they can’t do it, then that automatically means others can’t. It’s alright, we’ll just keep on keeping on.

Its scary how quickly riding your motorcycle starts to feel like you're just playing a videogame. Potential consequences just disappears because all you're focusing on is finding a path through the traffic. Its exhilarating, but fuck me the risk of life changing or life ending consequences is high, and the probability of it happening is more likely than not when riding like this becomes habit.. My next life I'll be an orphan who never marries and I'll ride like this til I hit the curb.
