Animal collective a life changing once their music clicks, their music has managed to affect my life like no other bands/artists, cannot speak more highly of them
I thought they were trash when I first heard them, my brain just couldn't compute such a unique sonic collage, then when they clicked other music just sounded so flat.
i love how you write your thoughts down instead of pausing the music. it's refreshing to see respect for the way the song is meant to be exerienced. great video!
I grew up listening to animal collective (my dads music taste is something I’m very grateful for lol) and I still get teary eyed and chills listening to some of their songs, this one especially, their music is so beautiful and seriously some of the most creative and moving stuff I’ve ever heard.
Broooo, lmao, I can’t believe you reacted to Purple Bottle 😂 I went through a period years ago when I was listening to this song every day, and I think my roommates were having secret meetings to have me committed...props for this 👍
Omg! This is the last song I could have imagined seeing anyone react to. Lol. Will be back to edit my comment to give some thoughts on your reaction, but I just had to put this out there. I love AC and this song. Edit: Animal Collective aren't for everyone by any means. Your face says it alone 😂 They're quirky, abstract, jammy, and really don't care about being accessible to the masses though they do have music that is more easily digestible. It's been so long since I first heard them so I don't remember what my initial feelings were, but I do think it was somewhere along the lines of yours. I had to really open my mind and listen to their music a few times to enjoy it. I'm glad I did. Glad you didn't hate it though! Lol.
Love your Zappa and Radiohead reactions, and was glad to see another one of my favorite artists receiving some shine. I hope you do more Animal Collective in the future. A truly unique and creative group.
I love these Animal Collective reactions! I stumbled into them via RU-vid algorithm almost a decade ago, and have been hooked since :) . The pianos on this album are microtonally out of tune on purpose--a detail they added for the studio because their home demos were done on an older, out-of-tune piano. I love their attention to subtle sonic details.

@@maine420grow8 I have no idea if I'm the list because I'm a Free Friday girl. Suggested a St. Patrick's Day list for fun, but the only ones from that I'm still interested in is Pogues, Glen Hansard, and Cranberries. More interested in what will grow the channel.
that might be your interpretation, but david has spoken about the meaning behind this song and it’s not this. it’s about how he felt so much love and giddiness for his girlfriend of the time that he started seeing the world differently- specifically, seeing the color purple everywhere. not all experimental songs have to be about drugs, and it’s a reduction of the amount of work and intention that goes into their lyrics to assume that
@@bansh33bug Well I would say my interpretation of the song is far more interesting, but I agree with always assuming a rock song is about drugs, it’s just of all the interpretations it seems the most likely. In any case, that’s the beauty of lyrics that are a bit ambiguous. It’s a real shame if he did in fact give the meaning in an interview. Thanks for the info though. Although, I will say if a girl you like makes you think of the color purple, you’re either high, in need of medication, or the artist formally known as Prince.
@@shammycat3538 if you think abusing codeine is more interesting than an overwhelming love, you have a lot ahead of you in life. its also strange to me that you just asserted your unfounded interpretation like it was fact without even bothering to check
