Somebody posted a comment that said "Fake" on my Purple Bottle drum cover so I thought I'd do an explanation/tutorial video to show how I did it and to prove that it wasn't fake. The audio somehow became a little off when I uploaded it which doesn't really aid in proving its authenticity.
The first picture shows the full set up: snare drum, floor tom, mixer, effects pedal and drum mics.
The second picture shows a closer look at how everything is connected: The key to playing this song is the delay that Panda Bear uses on the floor tom but I don't own a descent effects pedal so I got resourceful and rigged my set up using a guitar effects pedal.
I connected the floor tom mic into channel 1 and snare mic into channel 3. I then used the monitor send to send channel 1 to the guitar effects pedal then back into channel 2. Then I just ran the tape out from the mixer to my computer and recorded it with Audacity. The delay I used was 360ms, repeating only once.
Also used the bypass mode right at the end of the demo (you can hear the pedal squeak when I press it) and that's why the sound changes.
Not Fake.
